04/08/2025: Siamo stati a cena in questo locale ricavato da un ex frantoio e… che dire? Un’esperienza che ha lasciato il segno, in tutti i sensi giusti! Abbiamo iniziato con delle bruschette all’olio semplici ma sorprendenti: pane croccante e un olio così profumato e intenso da far venire voglia di chiedere il bis all'infinito. Un antipasto che già preannunciava la cura e la qualità della cucina. E le chips “erotica”? Un nome una garanzia! Patate tagliate finissime, insaporite alla perfezione, croccanti fuori e buonissime dentro. Una tira l’altra… e l’altra… e l’altra! Poi è arrivata la bruschetta "Bari Vecchia": un’esplosione di sapori autentici! La zampina cotta alla brace, il pomodoro infornato, le scaglie di caciocavallo e l’olio evo Intenso… un abbraccio perfetto tra tradizione e originalità. Davvero memorabile! I famosi spaghetti all’Assassina erano esattamente come devono essere: croccanti, dal sapore deciso e ben bilanciato. Cottura perfetta, sugo ben caramellato: una goduria assoluta. Il personale è stato gentile, sorridente e super disponibile, creando un’atmosfera calda e accogliente, in linea con l’ambiente suggestivo del vecchio frantoio. Infine, il conto onesto e più che adeguato alla qualità dei piatti e del servizio. Consigliatissimo per chi ama la buona cucina pugliese con un tocco di passione in più.

25/07/2025: Posto caratteristico ricavato sul perimetro delle mura di un frantoio. Prodotti di vera eccellenza, abbiamo ordinato alcune bruschette di mare e di terra inserite nel menu del giorno, un generoso piatto di spaghetti all'assassina e la simpatica ruota che ospitava una selezione di mousse per dessert. Prezzi onesti fatta eccezione per le bruschette che sono davvero inspiegabilmente ed eccessivamente care. Servizio eccellente e veloce. Personale assolutamente ben disposto e accogliente.

08/04/2025: The appetizers were very good. The assassina left much to be desired because the fresh sauce was added at the last minute, so it wasn't cooked with the pasta. Otherwise, everything was good.

08/07/2025: Wonderful experience this afternoon. This afternoon my wife and I sat at the tables under the beautiful and evocative portico in the historic location. The food and coffee are delicious, I say this because I've tried them on other occasions... but not today. We weren't served anything. We sat there outside for 10 minutes or more. No less. There were other tables that, one by one, got up and went to pay at the inside register. We were alone. I counted three "workers": a man and two women. And, perhaps, one inside table. There was the air conditioning worker (to let the owner, a kind and polite acquaintance of ours, know that the review is true and the incident occurred). Nothing... I grabbed my wife and took her elsewhere for afternoon coffee and gelato. Thanks, see you next time.

25/05/2025: The only positive note was the pizza, which was quite decent. We sat down as soon as we arrived but we waited a good two hours for a pizza, remaining at the last table. Very slow and disorganized service. Also, a bad idea to open the summer location in May when it is still cold in the evenings. Prices are a bit high and the quality of the food is quite good. I wouldn't go back for a number of reasons.

16/08/2025: We were quite disappointed with our experience at this place. After being seated, we had to wait about 20 minutes just for water, even though we had ordered before another table that arrived after us and was served immediately. The overall wait was very long, and the table we were assigned was far too small for our needs, in an already very cramped and uncomfortable space. Unfortunately, the organization and management of the service did not live up to expectations.

08/09/2025: A vintage setting with a modern twist, a retro wooden bar, cozy chairs, and a jaw-dropping array of bottles—in short, a place that truly rocks. CONTRABAR in Bisceglie is a place you must try. In the heart of the old town, amidst historic walls and modern vibes, we're in an unconventional spot that transports you to the coolest and most refined side of Puglia. The mood is a perfect blend of refined old and seductive contemporary: warm lighting and retro-inspired furnishings. Here I met Gianni Dell'Olio and Francesco Di Gioia, two bartenders with an incredible background in mixology and drink engineering; they tell you every cocktail like a story, classics, twists, homemade. Just think, in 2017, these two guys first dreamed up an appetizer drink by creating Bitter Violento, and then went on to create BASTALDO, an authentically Apulian artisanal amaro made from blood orange peel and vanilla, spices, and Moscato di Trani, all perfectly blended. I even discovered that Contrabar is among the best rum bars in Italy, branded Isla de Rum, and is considered one of the top 12 national cocktail bars by Gambero Rosso. In short, it's not just any place; here we are at the apotheosis and everything else is boring.

30/04/2025: Two stars because the environment is very nice. But slow and listless service, aperitif served with a 20 minute wait (I had to ask and there were no people) without anything to tease (at least some chips). The place looked good but it was a disappointment, we definitely won't be back. Not recommended.

06/10/2025: Excellent pizza with a light crust. There's a wide variety of pizza toppings and a wide selection of first and second courses. The atmosphere is truly unique: you can choose to eat in two 1950s/1960s-style train carriages. Service is quite fast, and the waiters are friendly (pizza delivery could be a little quicker, but it depends on how many people there are to serve).

01/10/2025: Delightful place, easy to reach, you can eat very well, from pizza to typical local cuisine. They also prepare specialties for celiacs which I was told are good. The affable and kind staff is directed, as in a symphony orchestra, by the friendly owner. In the winter the room is warm and welcoming, while in the summer you eat outdoors, under the starry sky or in any case under splendid lights. Finally, the most particular thing about the place and perhaps the most beautiful is the presence of two railway carriages, I believe, from the 1940s complete with their "original furnishings" where it is possible to dine. The room has been enriched and embellished. Highly recommended!!!!

21/08/2025: A place that's almost like a market, with people shouting at you, making you feel uncomfortable, pre-cooked, low-quality food, and high prices. A tip: Continuing down the same road, there's another excellent pizzeria with very good food, top-notch professionalism from both the waiters and the owners, and more reasonable prices. I made a note about the beers that "La Campana" also sells, but with a €2 premium. A place to forget.

26/09/2025: Guys, if you're passing through Bisceglie's historic center and don't stop at BAGUETTERIE, you're doing it all wrong! Amazing gourmet sandwiches, super-fresh ingredients, and amazing combos that will delight your palate. The place is super chill, perfect for a great break with friends or a casual yet delicious evening. Super friendly staff, especially Giacomo - a master of combinations - truly unique vibes in the heart of the old town. It's located on the ground floor of Palazzo Curtopassi, one of the most sumptuous and important historical sites in the city. 5⭐️, it deserves every single one! A pit stop for a quick bite is a must.
