Its strong point is undoubtedly the high-quality mixology: the cocktails are creative, well-balanced, and expertly crafted, the result of research and a passion for local ingredients and carefully crafted flavors. The selection of wines, spirits, and liqueurs is also extensive and carefully curated, with sought-after labels and original offerings. There's also a delicious food selection: the aperitifs and appetizers are well-crafted, perfect to accompany drinks, and offer a tasteful twist on traditional Apulian cuisine. CONTRABAR in Bisceglie is a place you must try. In the heart of the old town, amidst historic walls and modern vibes, we're in an unconventional spot that transports you to the coolest and most refined side of Puglia. The mood is a perfect blend of refined old and seductive contemporary: warm lighting and retro-inspired furnishings. Here I met Gianni Dell'Olio and Francesco Di Gioia, two bartenders with an incredible background in mixology and drink engineering; they tell you every cocktail like a story, classics, twists, homemade. Just think, in 2017, these two guys first dreamed up an appetizer drink by creating Bitter Violento, and then went on to create BASTALDO, an authentically Apulian artisanal amaro made from blood orange peel and vanilla, spices, and Moscato di Trani, all perfectly blended. I even discovered that Contrabar is among the best rum bars in Italy, branded Isla de Rum, and is considered one of the top 12 national cocktail bars by Gambero Rosso. In short, it's not just any place; here we are at the apotheosis and everything else is boring.

09/02/2026: Very nice and welcoming pizzeria in the central area of beautiful Bisceglie. Many types of pizza, each one better than the last 😋.. Also available with delicious whole wheat dough, very light. Fabulous appetizers (legendary parmiggiana! 😍). Good selection of excellent quality beers and delicious desserts to finish. All served by very kind waiters, very capable and kind staff and staff. Beautiful open pizza counter. Pizza chefs 🔝 especially the boss Kema 💪🥇. Definitely worth coming back!

Attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere made us feel truly at home. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back.

"The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a light, well-leavened dough. The tomato was fresh and flavorful, the salami was rich and spicy just right, and the stringy mozzarella rounded it all off sublimely."
"The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff very kind and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable." This will be our go-to place for pizza in Bisceglie.
Excellent value.

31/01/2026: Don't expect dishes with special effects, because we are talking about typical cuisine from the Bari area, simple dishes such as orecchiette with ragù, braciole, favetta and chicory etc etc, dishes that represent the warmth and traditions of our area, but prepared with taste, truly excellent, staff with obsessive politeness and always smiling, rustic place very down to earth, already from the entrance you understand that here they get straight to the point

I understand the low cost of €35 per person, but I wasn't particularly satisfied. The appetizers were paltry, I'd say. Perhaps I would have enjoyed the dish more if the two portions had been placed on a central plate. The first courses were overflowing with cream. The cheesecake was nothing like cheesecake; I'd say it was a hastily arranged dessert. The dining room was packed with people, with only two canners because, according to the owner, he hadn't expected such a large turnout. Who knows?
10/01/2026: A New Year's Eve lunch to forget, the atmosphere felt like being in a shed, we ate almost nothing, rubbery gnocchi, seafood straight out of the cold storage!!!

19/10/2025: If you love pizza with thin, crispy, and above all light crust, you've come to the right place. They offer a wide variety of choices, and the ingredients are excellent. The service is quick; even if you order an appetizer, they don't crowd you out by three or four tables like others do. The timing is perfect, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, as is the owner, who, in addition to being a pizza chef, is also very personable. Highly recommended.

17/12/2025: I was there with my wife yesterday, the atmosphere was intimate and very nice. I ate some delicious sheep in the valley, not to mention the arrosticini. As usual, we had an Abruzzese pizza with truffle cream, what can I say, fantastic. Highly recommended.
16/12/2025: We were attracted by the advertisement for typical Abruzzo cuisine, but unfortunately the menu didn't live up to its promises, and as often happens when you try to do everything... the result is that nothing is done well.
The "Abruzzo" platter was supposed to include cheeses, cured meats, honey, and bruschetta... but it certainly wasn't typical.
In reality, what arrived were bresaola (which isn't Abruzzo), coppa veneta, capocollo di Martina Franca, and ventricina, as well as three flavorless Apulian caciottas with walnuts and pistachios (when Abruzzo is full of aged cheeses and pecorinos... what a shame) and three slices of cold bread from the refrigerator soaked in oil with cold cheese melted on top.
Overall poor quality!!
Unfortunately, the cured meats clearly tasted and smelled like pre-cut deli meats, an odor that lingered throughout the restaurant.
Alas, even the meat displayed in the window (above the pizza counter) didn't invite tasting, with its brown color and questionable labels, originating anything but Abruzzo.
Overall, the place is kept to a minimum, but the management is rather bizarre, not to mention embarrassing:
at least the open shirt in mid-December is decidedly unsuitable and unprofessional.
The only positive note was the young waitress, kind and composed.
Otherwise, we strongly advise against it!
