29/09/2025: Me and my partner were staying in Puglia for a week from the 19th of September, staying one night near Polignano a Mare, 3 nights in Ostuni, and 3 nights here in Castro - we were most excited about this hotel as our friend recommended it to us. Starting off positively, the hotel grounds were beautiful and the location idyllic. The staff were all so lovely, kind, and personable. We were left a little disappointed by the service however. When we arrived we were told someone would fetch our bags from the car and bring them to our room, and after waiting over an hour we ended up having to get them ourselves. We were also told there’s a WhatsApp number to text food/drink orders to from the pool (it looked like the pool bar was closed so maybe why) but when we asked another member of staff for this number they were confused and said they’ve never heard of that before. Having to order food and drink from the pool felt like a mission, climbing up all the steps to then wait at the bar or reception which was mostly unstaffed - then waiting over an hour and a half for lunch and a drink. Not really ideal sadly. I’m sure this was mostly because we visited slightly out of season but I feel like the service should remain the same regardless. We got the standard double room and it was very, very basic. There wasn’t WiFi and when we asked at reception they gave us our own WiFi box which was strange and should’ve been told upon checking in. I’d also recommend adding tea/coffee making facilites to the rooms, there were also only six hangers in the wardrobe and no draws to put the rest of our clothes. I think a lot of updating would make this place a haven. Dinner was (in our opinion) overly expensive for the small portions we had, so we left feeling hungry and decided to eat at surrounding restaurants for the rest of the trip. Onto more positives - breakfast was a big highlight, such a feast! Although does finish early (10 am) so wouldn’t recommend a lie in. And the views from the terrace at breakfast were just divine. The pool was the most tranquil place to relax, we did go to visit the private beach but it was a bit choppy and cold for us this time of year! The hotel also had tennis courts we didn’t have time to use, and a movie theatre outside but not sure how that works as nothing was ever playing? Again, the staff were truly lovely, I hope to come back again and have a better experience with the service and maybe book a better room.

24/09/2025: The location of the resort is truly unique – directly on the cliffs with stunning sea views from many areas, whether from the breakfast terrace or the pool. The friendliness of the staff is also noteworthy; minor issues were resolved immediately. We were less impressed with the suite we booked: The furnishings are quite basic, lacking storage space and comfortable seating, and the patio furniture appears basic. The air conditioning also didn't work reliably and was a bit difficult to operate. Overall, this gives the impression that the resort is in need of renovation and modernization in some areas. All in all, however, the great location outweighs any drawbacks, so the stay will remain a positive memory.

06/07/2025: Well located, at the gates of Gargano, welcoming place, kind and competent staff, very good pizza for dough and ingredients of excellent quality, very good also the other dishes.

04/11/2025: old-style pub (fortunately) nowadays especially in Foggia the pub costs the same as a starred restaurant, this place is not excessively expensive and the food is good

30/10/2025: It's "only" and exclusively for the service. I booked a table at 8:45 pm for two people, but we were 10 minutes late because it started pouring down and I was on foot without an umbrella, so I took shelter under a doorway. When we arrived, the lady told us the tables were becoming free (while behind us there was an empty table for four), which was definitely booked too. And yet she told us to wait outside (in the rain). All this while, I was pregnant! 👍🏻

16/11/2025: We know where we're going, for goodness sake, we don't expect gourmet pizzas. But in my life, being served pizzas without mozzarella but with stretched cheese is something even Caritas wouldn't have. Why are you kidding people like this? Do you realize you've lost a lot of customers like this?

15/11/2025: I placed an order on Just Eat, but it was over an hour late, and they told me it was Saturday. When you can't guarantee service at the scheduled time, don't accept orders, especially if they're tough pizzas with little topping.

23/08/2025: We booked and drove to Maglie only to find that the restaurant was closed. When we asked for clarification (since the online information listed it as open), we were told that they were unable to update the closures on the profile and that they were actually only operating in Otranto. However, when we made the reservation, they didn't bother to clarify that the reservation was for the Otranto location.

25/03/2025: Amazing! A welcoming, private, unique, refined, and well-kept place! The raw materials and preparation are sublime! Truly excellent!

29/09/2025: The Rotonda restaurant is always a guarantee, the pizza is digestible, the service is top and Roberto is great, I recommend it both as a pizzeria and as a restaurant

14/09/2025: It's a shame that they want to serve 300 people with 3 people serving. Speculation is always made on people waiting 2 hours to have 6 pizzas and it's shameful.

02/11/2025: We've never eaten so badly in a restaurant. EVER. The place was very dirty. The first course arrived with super small sea urchins. They were local sea urchins (which are banned here in Puglia, by the way), but at all the other tables they were Greek sea urchins. No one in the kitchen was wearing a cap, and the floor wasn't dirty, more than dirty. The first courses were inedible. The pasta with sea urchins was full of bones and so bitter it was inedible. The pasta with mussels was disgusting. The pasta was very little, and the mussels were rotten; many were actually black on the inside. The fried fish was absolutely frozen and you could smell it from a mile away. The icing on the cake??? There was MOLD in the bottle of water at the bottom. Maybe the NAS should take a walk around this place and check a few things, especially the CLEANLINESS. Which I don't think you even know what that means. We paid €120, but it's not even worth 0.50 cents. We won't even pass by this place again, if it can be called that.

08/09/2025: I booked a table for Rachele Bastreghi's live show. I had requested a slightly more central spot, but we found ourselves on the edge of the flowerbeds, where we had no view. Oh well, we can ignore this. The problem is that the waitress was rude, inattentive to the table's requests, and we could only order burritos or sandwiches; the rest of the items were "sold out." I repeat, the waitress needs a little reconsideration. At the end of dinner, we got up to pay and went into the bar, but cash was the only option; for the POS terminal, we had to go outside and wait in a long line (we all had cards and wanted to pay separately). A woman behind the counter asked us, in an equally rude manner, to "collect the money and pay the total at the cash register." I'm sorry, but no, that's not okay. We sorted it out, paid, and left disappointed. We've always been regulars at this place for the events it hosts, but also for the beauty of the location. We won't be returning. Customer service is very important; you can't improvise, and having extra staff probably helps you avoid having this kind of experience.

08/09/2025: I went with a group of friends for dinner and to enjoy the live show scheduled for that evening. The only positive note was the location, a cute little square. Otherwise, it was a forgettable evening. Let's start with the waitress; a robot would have been nicer, friendlier, and more helpful. The sandwiches and pucce were expensive but of poor quality (and quantity). The staff was lacking in flexibility (no changes, no additions, no separate bills), but they were willing to charge extra for the live show, which was nothing more than an interview with two songs around midnight. Never again!!!

02/11/2025: We ordered seven pizzas on Sunday evening at 7:00 PM for delivery at 8:00 PM, and there was nothing to complain about punctuality, except that there were only six pizzas left at the time of delivery. After mentioning this to the delivery guy, we called the pizzeria, and here's the best part... The owner, after five minutes of chatting and hesitating about the missing pizza, delivered the missing pizza (who knows where it had ended up) cold and inedible. I called the pizzeria again, telling her I'd expected a hot pizza, since the mistake or oversight had been their fault. During the call, the lady, with a presumptuous and arrogant air, insulted me, and claimed that I should have accepted that pizza, but only after I insisted, quite annoyed, did she deliver the other pizza. Of course, I returned the cold pizza upon delivery. When you are unable to manage a business with courtesy (since the mistake was their fault) perhaps it would be time to change jobs.

27/09/2025: Pizzeria in the streets of Altamura, a 10-minute walk from the center. Traditional place, but well-cooked pizza, truly delicious!

14/11/2025: It wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the fact that the owner (I suppose) offered us a €23 menu that included a tomato bruschetta, a first course of your choice from those listed, a second course of your choice, water, cover charge, limoncello, and coffee. When it came time to pay the bill, I hadn't ordered bruschetta, limoncello (I'm a driver), or coffee, so I would have expected anything but €30.50. His justification was that since I hadn't ordered the full menu, the à la carte menu was valid (which he neither showed nor brought to me when I ordered (I thought that for lunch, what he showed me was the only menu). I repeat... it's a shame because in the end the food wasn't bad, but trying to "rip off" a customer like that doesn't seem like a smart move on the part of a restaurateur. I've been traveling around Italy and Europe for 29 years, and I also work in tourism (as a bus driver), but I would never dream of using subterfuges of this kind. What...for €7.50...I honestly would have gone back to eat there because, as I said, I liked the food...maybe I could recommend it to my future passengers on trips to San Giovanni Rotondo but...I think next time I'll look elsewhere.

16/10/2025: We got takeout. A pizza, some beers, and a lemon soda. Good prices, delicious pizza, and an ice-cold drink. The service from the pizza master was very good, quick, and practical. The girl was obviously very busy and didn't have the time to serve us, but she wasn't rude. Recommended
