10/07/2024: I wandered into Casale on a Friday morning and the beautiful old town seemed somewhat deserted. I stopped in a clothing store where no one spoke English and after using translate I asked for a lunch recommendation. The two women asked an older gentleman who really had no English words at all in arsenal and he thought it about and then told them to tell me to go here. It’s not as traditional looking as most, more of a cafeteria style so I was a bit suspicious. There was a menu board and outdoor seating so I gave it a shot. Again, no one there spoke English either. I ordered carbonara, vino bianchi, and waited. A basket of breadstick and a nice roll and a dish of parmigiano reggiano were brought with my wine. Then the carbonara came and it was awesome! Like, super awesome. I finished with an espresso and the whole lunch cost me 12 Euro! It was truly great!
