03/01/2025: New Year's Eve dedicated to hospital food. Maybe even worse. Menu that changed during the evening due to supplies (30 minutes from Cuneo without snow... well... probably because there was no one there and I had to get rid of the leftovers)... the dessert that looked like it was taken from the supermarket. ..thawed...and served still frozen...and not even good. Countdown to the non-existent New Year!!! Nobody told us anything...not even the DJ who later discovered he had a microphone!!!! We went out on our own with the dinner wine! Sadness....!!! Luckily the evening was brightened up with music afterwards. For goodness sake!!!! Never again!

02/01/2025: Ci siamo recati 4 adulti e un bambino alle 18 di pomeriggio abbiamo chiesto se era possibile cenare ci è stato disposto “Nola cucina è chiusa” con disgusto senza dare informazioni sul orario in cui aprisse la cucina e nulla. Chiedevi qualcosa ai ragazzi e alle ragazze che erano al bancone ti rispondevano male. Abbiamo preso 4 vin brulè pagati 40 € ci sono stati buttati nel tavolo su delle tazzine misere e sporche da una ragazza che non sapeva neanche una parola in italiano. Mai più!

08/09/2024: 3 of us had dinner last night, served on the veranda. Not too welcoming place, all white (chairs, tablecloths, structure, lamps, lights, dishes), informal with many tourists. The menu is quite varied with some vegetarian options (soups or pasta with 3 tomatoes, porcini mushroom risotto), frozen mushrooms as well as swordfish on the menu and other products marked with an asterisk. We took Risotto with porcini mushrooms (medium unfortunately lacking fresh raw materials) a salad (nothing special) and two fairly good soups. Medium caramel and sorbet sablé dessert, medium. Decent wine list. Service with a Maitre d' and other girls that leaves no mark. Chaotic, noisy place with an invasion of very aggressive wasps or hornets (magnum cut), so with the windows open I can't imagine. This place deserves a different mise en place with more refined dishes presented by attentive service with excellent raw materials. The structure (veranda) the entrance to the Villa Carolina hotel) where the St George is located should be fully valorised. To access the St Gorge there are stairs so it is not suitable for those with walking problems. It's really a shame We stayed at Villa Bollina in Serravalle: An enchanting place that I recommend both for the location, the wonderful terrace overlooking the fields and for the excellent restaurant and service. They also produce wine.

27/07/2024: The restaurant is next to the Villa Carolina hotel and the only restaurant choice within the next 5km. This is misused totally by the restaurant. Yes, the ambient and view is great, but the staff is just pretending to be nice and professional. When showed that we had a broken glass that already hurt our lips, the glass was just replaced with a grumpy attitude and no any apologies. The food is not more than average, but totally overpriced…18 EUR for the small kids pasta with only tomato sauce! On top coperto of 6 EUR per person. We spend nearly 100 EUR for average food and bad service.

21/11/2024: Great coffee, and delicious food. The staff is always quick and very kind and always welcomes you with a smile. The environment is pleasant and suitable for both a quick break and to relax a bit. Must try!

18/01/2025: Very nice place with a gracious and kind waitress, so much so that you can't have the heart to tell her that the chef should apologize to the calf he killed to boil the fillet. Tirrenia ferry style cuisine. Account aligned with the faded Michelin labels which OBVIOUSLY refer to past management. Sin.

06/01/2025: Nothing negative to say. An elegant place, with great service. Compliments to the chef, for pairings, I didn't think that fish and pecorino would make such a harmony. There were just the two of us and the whole place was for us, with Christmas music, top-notch service and exquisite dishes. I didn't expect such abundant dishes, which many restaurants now reduce the quantity, sometimes resulting in a measly dish. Here there are valuable ingredients and you don't save on quantity. Even for coffee they don't bring you just one sachet of sugar but an entire tray with the sugar of your choice. A compliment at the start of lunch and a biscuit for coffee, even if you don't order dessert, are other details that put SottoSopra among the places to try. Thank you, you gave us a real culinary experience. I read reviews of the high price, yes, it is not a cheap restaurant, but it is an experience restaurant, a party restaurant, a special occasion restaurant. Absolutely to return.

29/09/2024: Beautiful and evocative place with a view of Lake Orta. We were there for a wedding celebration and everything was perfect, from the service to the food. Well done!

20/01/2025: The owner, Mr. Alfredo, is very kind. Very large and beautiful location, very well kept, recently painted facades, clean and tidy environment. The food is good, the braised ravioli is characteristic and delicious, while the grilled meat is something to be seen again, perhaps designed for foreign guests but I wouldn't recommend it. It is characteristic to have lunch next to the star divided by glass so you can observe the animals up close.

19/01/2025: Io con la mia famiglia abbiamo passato un weekend in questa tenuta . Ci siamo trovati molto bene sia per il posto particolare sia per la pulizia. La colazione e la cena nella norma. Se dovessimo ritornare nel Monferrato sicuramente ci fermeremo

I have been going to this place for 8 years and I have never had anything to complain about, on the contrary, I have always brought new customers and I will bring more! Light doughs, perfect cooking and quality ingredients. Accessible prices for children and adults. The counter offers a wide choice of delicious products, just wait less than 30 seconds and contact the staff to then be able to taste these delicacies on the spot, or at the tables outside where a girl will be ready to reserve a seat, or you could take the products and bring it to you go!

18/01/2025: The Locarno Restaurant, located in the heart of Santa Maria Maggiore, is a culinary point of reference that becomes even more special during the famous Pumpkin Festival, one of the most loved events in the village. This restaurant stands out for its welcoming environment and its cuisine that celebrates the traditional flavors of the Vigezzo Valley. During the Pumpkin Festival, the Locarno Restaurant offers a menu enriched with seasonal pumpkin-based dishes. In fact, I chose a mixed appetizer with fried gnocco, a plate of pumpkin gnocchi with raw Vigezzino and Toma fondue and a polenta with pumpkin and zola. The restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for immersing yourself in the festive atmosphere of the country. The kindness of the staff and attention to detail make the gastronomic experience even more pleasant. We had to wait a while before being served, even though we had booked in advance, but I think this was due to the event itself which puts a lot of pressure on the staff. It was a pleasant experience, the place is welcoming and clean; the prices are very competitive and the portions generous. Overall, it's a place I recommend!

17/01/2025: Recommended for a lunch stop in Santa Maria Maggiore. We stopped along the foliage train route to Locarno. In the center, therefore not far from the station, next to the church of S. Maria Assunta and the Chimney Sweep Museum. Excellent quality/price ratio. The choice of dishes is decent. Courteous and efficient service. A beautiful and good experience

20/09/2024: Siamo capitato per caso ,2 primi di ravioli un fritto misto piemontese e un brasato 1 acqua gasata e 1/4 di vino .....54 euro forse un po' alto il prezzo e soprattutto scorretto il menu senza indicazioni sul prezzo

28/12/2024: Pizza grande e buona, anche se i condimenti sono un po’ pochi (la mia aveva il tonno ed erano solo due pezzettini) 😅 consegna perfetta e fattorino gentilissimo

17/12/2024: Came back after a while...there weren't the same owners...not even the usual pizza chefs...seasoned bread number 4 usually the top was a disappointment...booked for 8am I arrive 10 minutes early by and it was already ready...ingredients not up to par, I won't go back. Maybe it was a bad evening but I'm going there specifically for tastes that I didn't find this evening

02/12/2024: Last Sunday lunch dedicated to Calabrian cuisine. Even with just a starter it was a complete meal. The second course and dessert were also excellent.
