05/11/2025: Tonight's evening is all about improvisation, considering it's Liberation Day. A quick trip to Porto d'Ascoli for a delicious Neapolitan-flavored pizza! A welcoming venue with a karaoke night, featuring performances by the regulars, featuring songs from the recent Sanremo Music Festival and other timeless Italian-Neapolitan singer-songwriters. The entrance features a bar and two rooms with tables ready to be occupied, others requiring reservations. Fast and attentive service, and the pizza chef is available to cater to every need. Cover charge is not included. Average prices for large, soft wood-fired pizzas. The meat, fish, and vegetable options listed on the restaurant menu will definitely be back. Payment is accepted in cash and/or by credit card. Parking is nearby. Recommended for an evening out of the ordinary. Enjoy your meal. 🍽 🍕 🍺

02/09/2025: The hotel is in a beautiful panoramic location, surrounded by greenery. The prices are fair, the breakfast is good, and the rooms are spacious enough. The property could use some updating, but for a short stay at this price, it's more than adequate, especially considering the beautiful setting.

21/03/2026: The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and well-kept, with a lovely atmosphere, albeit somewhat hampered by the cold in the dining room. It must be said that the restaurant was completely empty: the fact that it was out of season likely didn't help either the atmosphere or the service.
We tried octopus with potatoes, paccheri allo scoglio (paccheri with seafood), and spaghetti with clams. The octopus was well-executed and tasty. The paccheri, however, arrived decidedly too al dente, bordering on undercooked. The spaghetti with clams was barely adequate, both in flavor and quantity. The wine by the glass was good, but the bread served was dry, probably from the day before.
At the end of the meal, after paying, we reported the paccheri's overcooking: we were told that this was a deliberate decision by the kitchen. A legitimate position, but not very customer-oriented.
Total bill of €54 for two first courses, a second course, water, a glass of wine, and two coffees: a fair price.
Overall, a decent experience. Excellent base and location, but more attention is needed on the cuisine, service, and experience management, especially when the place is empty.

18/07/2025: La solita truffa per turisti. Ho voluto appositamente provare un cono di olive proprio per verificare la mia supposizione. Olive di qualche giorno prima tenute in “caldo” in banco/vetrina fatiscente… con la scusa di farmelo abbondante mi ha pure fregato 50 centesimi… sicuramente le olive ascolane si trovano meglio in un qualsiasi altro locale pescato a caso… Migliore si ma se si parte dal fondo della classifica. Pessimo.

Chalet Le 3 Caravelle

14/08/2025: We search for a chalet for a seafood dinner, strolling aimlessly along the San Benedetto seafront.
The sun has already sunk below the horizon, but the sky still retains that hand-painted orange-pink hue.
We walk, drawn by the smell of the sea and the sound of cutlery clinking on the tables.
We stop in front of "Le Tre Caravelle."
We ask if there's room, and with a natural smile, they welcome us immediately.
They set us up at a table right on the sand, in a space that hosts umbrellas during the day.
The feeling is that of a "seaside" dinner in the most literal sense of the word.
It's not a traditional restaurant, but a tasting room, a refined snack bar, with a wide selection of wines.
And here he comes in.
The waiter, barefoot like his colleagues, arrives with a light step.
We ask for the wine list.
He smiles and says:
— I'm the wine list! We change it so often it's impossible to keep it up to date. Tell me what you think, and I'll bring you some suggestions.
He disappears for a moment, then returns with three bottles in his hands.
He presents them with passion, describing their aromas, provenance, and history, as if he were reading a poem.
His enthusiasm is so contagious that I can't help but ask:
— How did your PASSION for wine come about?
And there, a whole new world opens up.
He studied architecture, but felt it wasn't his true calling.
A Roman and a die-hard Roma supporter, he followed Roma away to every city in Italy.
One day, on the fans' bus, he ended up traveling next to a group of young people... all food entrepreneurs, accustomed to reserved tables and premium bottles.
— They always opened good bottles... and that piqued my curiosity!
He dropped out of university and enrolled in a sommelier course at a renowned Roman school.
He worked in Michelin-starred restaurants, becoming a restaurant manager.
Then, as in every beautiful story, love struck: he met a girl from San Benedetto and decided to move there.
Together, they opened the "Progetto di Cantina sul Mare": an original idea, an immediate success.
The restaurant became a meeting place for those seeking special wines and stories to sip.
Local friends often recommended he try the I Maltagliati restaurant in Torano.
When he finally went there, he discovered by chance that the owners had been his classmates in Rome.
Wow, what a surprise!
From there, a collaboration was born: the refined dishes of the Maltagliatis met his wines.
They organized events and tastings, and business boomed.
So much so that, shortly thereafter, he and his partner took over the management of a historic restaurant in the Paese Alto area.
His name is Edoardo.
We, however, will always call it "the barefoot wine list."
Because sometimes, behind a glass, you find not only the right wine... but the right story.

25/09/2025: A very elegant and tastefully decorated restaurant.
We discovered this excellent restaurant only during the last week of our vacation, and since then, we've chosen to dine there every evening. The menu is truly varied: from steak to pizza to pasta, we've sampled several dishes, and they've all been delicious, always served promptly and with care.
Dublin House also offers a vast selection of excellent beers.
A special thanks goes to the staff: extremely friendly, attentive, and always available to satisfy every need. Their professionalism and kindness made the experience even more enjoyable.
We've definitely found our favorite restaurant in San Benedetto.
