05/01/2026: A decidedly disappointing experience.
The room had several issues: the TV was old and tiny, and a bedside lamp (which worked) was hanging with exposed wiring. The shower, however, wasn't exactly clean.
The experience at the restaurant was even more unpleasant. When asking for information about a dish, the owner responded, "I can't possibly know what's in every dish." This was an absurd response, especially considering that information about ingredients is crucial, especially for those with allergies or intolerances. The fact that the chef had already left doesn't excuse such a lack of professionalism. I should point out that I was provided with the requested information afterwards, but that doesn't excuse the attitude.
Breakfast was also disappointing: bland, individually packaged jams, decidedly below par compared to what the area has to offer.
Overall, the standard was well below expectations. Not recommended.
Note: Unlike the owner, the waitress was very, very kind!

11/01/2026: This restaurant was recommended to us by a very kind bartender from Tirano when we asked for a gluten-free option, since one of us had celiac disease. The gourmet pizzas were excellent, with a thick, crispy, and easily digestible whole-wheat dough. Congratulations, indeed...
We'll definitely be back to try the gluten-free pizza, which unfortunately wasn't available that evening.
The pizzoccheri and carpaccio appetizer were very generous. There was a wide variety of desserts, but no one ordered them because we were so full.
The staff were friendly and very professional.
The place is well-kept and very welcoming.
It's easy to get to, even though it's not exactly centrally located.
We highly recommend it!
02/01/2026: My husband and I were at this restaurant for New Year's. The choice was made solely based on recommendations from GoogleMaps and information on the restaurant's official website. The restaurant is small, cozy, clean, with a modern interior. The staff is pleasant. It was a surprise that on New Year's Eve the restaurant had a special shortened New Year's menu, which was not mentioned on the restaurant's website. The menu was exclusively in Italian, so we had to use a translator. There was also no salad on the menu, but this is probably because Italian cuisine does not pay much attention to salads on such occasions. The food was delicious, the portions were sufficient. But I'm sure that next time on a regular day we will be able to enjoy something special from the full menu of the establishment.

17/09/2025: We've been back a couple of times already, not to stay, but for dinner: exquisite home-made products. We also tried Taroz (a traditional Valtellina dish, now hard to find). The owners are lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location between Gavia and Santa Caterina. Stunning views. Everyone is friendly and smiling.
Trust their recommendations, the specials of the day... but save room for the mixed cheese platter (superb cheeses) and, of course, the desserts made with their milk.
The mountain hut is also a halfway point/stop on hiking trails.
You can't miss it.
I'll definitely return and recommend it.

04/03/2026: The entire impression of the food and ambience was spoiled by a very rude and uncultured worker who is a waitress. She mostly works in the first shift. She has blonde hair and is short. At 7:00 in the morning she didn't allow us to sit in an empty bar because it was RESERVED. I do the same job in another country with a much larger volume than this restaurant, but I haven't come across such rudeness for a long time. she came to take the order, my friend went to her while he was ordering, she looked at him for a while and didn't even look at him. I will never enter this restaurant again and I do not recommend it. A shame.

19/01/2026: Average Valtellina food. The restaurant is quaint inside, but from the outside it feels like a private home. The service is a shame; the manager is rude and his responses are harsh to every comment. It's a shame, it must have been a bad day.
06/01/2026: I always went there during my childhood, and the sciat and pizzoccheri were always memorable.
Finally, after a good four years since my last visit, I can confirm that they are still some of the best sciat and pizzoccheri in Valtellina.
The bresaola and bitto parcels and the tagliolini with porcini mushrooms also deserve special mention.
Extremely good value and generous portions.
The service is friendly and very homely.
It's always a pleasure to return.

13/08/2025: This was our first time at this family-run hotel in the city center, with spacious and spotless rooms, exceptional service, and excellent and plentiful cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but we especially appreciate the owners' friendliness and helpfulness.
Recommended for those seeking a relaxing stay, a family vacation immersed in nature, and also for those who love hiking, as it's a great starting point for many walks.

12/10/2025: We took a nice hike to the refuge, scenic and easy, and had lunch. The staff was friendly and quick, and the food was good and varied. Also recommended for family outings.
09/09/2025: The route is doable with a minimum of fitness. A few meters of slightly exposed trail are equipped with a chain to attach yourself to.
The manager and staff are friendly, helpful, and quick; if they forget something, just remind them...
The restrooms are also available to passers-by, free of charge. Water is also available to refill your water bottle.
We arrived at 11:30 a.m. and found the restrooms clean, with soap, toilet paper, and paper towels...
