12/08/2025: Pizzeria San Martino, a few steps from my house and somewhat hidden, is nevertheless well-known in the area. In the first two or three years after opening, it stood out for its attention to every detail: a tidy place, impeccable service, and consistently excellent pizza. After a few years, the quality of the pizza has remained extremely high—truly among the best—as has the service and the welcoming, pleasant atmosphere inside. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the outdoor area. During nights and on days when it's closed, the terrace becomes a place of passage and rest for people who leave it in a shabby condition, significantly degrading its overall image. This unfortunately takes away from the place's charm, to the point that, even when it reopens at the end of the summer, those who pass by during these weeks are unlikely to have a good impression. My advice is to consider permanently removing the terrace and replacing it with a well-kept and striking entrance: two tall, elegant candles, or two slender, well-kept flowerpots, perhaps with a nice rug at the entrance. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, but the current exterior risks putting off customers. It would be a shame not to take action, given the excellent quality of the cuisine.

09/08/2025: Ottimo ristorantino a Bergamo alta, nella piazza in cui arriva la funicolare. L'ambiente è rustico ma molto curato, con tavoli di legno e pareti in pietra. L'arredamento è tipico ma ricercato. Il personale davvero cortese vi farà sentire a casa e vi illustrerà tutti i piatti, anche perché la maggior parte ha nomi locali e dunque serve una "traduzione".Il riso cotto nel vino tipico locale Valcalepio, ad esempio, è una squisitezza. Da leccarsi i baffi anche i casoncelli con carne e pancetta. Da provare la polenta taragna (ovvero con il formaggio). Impossibile non accompagnare il tutto con un buon vino.

27/07/2025: Locale Accogliente e carinissimo, molto pulito. I piatti tipici sono veramente ottimi il servizio non troppo veloce ma sicuramente competente. Il personale è gentilissimo.

09/11/2025: Recommended for lunch given the excellent quality/price ratio (€12 includes a first course, second course, side dish, 1/4 cup of wine, water, and coffee. For just €2, you can add a beer). On Saturdays, it's best to arrive by 12:15 PM because the place fills up quickly around 1:00 PM, and you risk running out of tables. All the staff are extremely courteous and serve quickly.

31/10/2025: Affordable but good fixed menu, simple, cheerful and hard-working people, lively and efficient waitresses. Guys, first course, second course, side dish, a generous glass of wine, and a coffee for €12, excellent for the price 😅 good quality!!! Highly recommended!

15/11/2025: The food was average, but the prices were decidedly high for the quality and type of restaurant. The wine markup was excessive, more than triple the retail price, and the wines were quite commercial. The focaccia wasn't bad, but the pizza would be worth trying.

30/11/2025: We went for Sunday brunch. Excellent!! Everything was delicious! The food was very high quality and the selection of dishes was delicious! Highly recommended! Furthermore, the owner and all the staff are extremely kind and will make you feel at ease!

21/09/2025: We went for dinner tonight, the price was too high for the place, 4 of us spent 430 euros for two dishes each, the same price as a one-Michelin-star restaurant!!!!! I don't think I'd go back!!!!

07/10/2025: Mediocre atmosphere, good but paltry and very bland food. It doesn't take a good chef to serve a raw fish dish or polenta topped with lard. Unjustified wait and inappropriate behavior from the restaurant owners. We booked through The Fork, and they canceled the reservation as soon as we left the restaurant because we weren't at all satisfied with the food. In short: a tourist trap. I can't believe they're in the top 3 restaurants in Bergamo. Do yourself a favor and stay away; there are better restaurants for seafood or traditional Bergamo cuisine.

28/06/2025: Oggi a mezzogiorno abbiamo mangiato molto bene, Le lasagne di selvaggina,e pizzoccheri ottimi,piatto di polenta formaggio e funghi buono. Porzioni di dolce abbondanti e buone. Abbiamo scoperto che si può anche cenare alla sera ci torneremo.

25/05/2025: Siamo abituati a camminare e ad andare x rifugi. Ma come oggi, veramente male. Pessimi secondi, male i dolci, aggiunta di taragna inesistente e male male rapporto qualità-cibo. Da non ritornarci.

26/10/2025: Historic restaurant in the center of Ponte San Pietro. A good selection of dishes and pizzas on the menu, with generous portions. Excellent value. Unfortunately, I had dinner during the week, especially in the fall, when there were few customers, and the heating wasn't on, making it a bit chilly. I still recommend it.

19/10/2025: We had a great time. Typical Italian cuisine where you feel welcomed like at home despite the language barrier!

08/11/2025: Despite the internet saying the refuge was open, when we reached the top after a fairly steep hike, it was closed—a rather unpleasant surprise, to say the least. We're disappointed we weren't able to have lunch here given the fantastic reviews of the food, but after a two-hour drive and an hour's hike in the cold, we won't be returning, not even on principle. Please update your opening hours, and since it's 2025, not 1800, you could enable automatic email replies so that if someone (like us) emails you to make a reservation, they'll automatically receive a notification that the refuge is closed, saving themselves a trip and unnecessary effort.

22/07/2025: Food is ok, not bad, but not great. Doesn't taste Italian, tastes like Costco. Service is ok. A woman who appears to be the owner or manager took our order. Passive aggressive, see that quite a bit here. Ordered meatballs. She kept pretending to hear spaghetti with meatballs. Eventually I said ok. When paying she didn't say thankyou for coming, how was your dinner, etc. I would not recommend Cafe De La Plaza, especially for tourists. In my opinion the owner wants the most revenue for lowest cost and doesn't enjoy what she is doing. Just had a negative vibe if you aren't her friend. The other issue is this restaurant stinks to high heaven. It is near the ocean and the ocean stinks terribly from Sargassum. I still blame this on Palmas community as they are not doing enough, if anything to remove the Sargassum.
