23/02/2025: Historic place in Bordighera to eat excellent fish. Family run with courteous staff ready to recommend the correct quantity of courses to order based on their portions. You eat very fresh fish with a wide choice available between paper menus and those presented on a blackboard.

02/06/2025: I came here with my family, overall we had a good time. The environment is lived but clean and essential. The best part are the dinners, for those who decide to stay, where every evening the manager will delight you with delicacies. Breakfast is very spartan. The location is convenient and is in a quiet area, even if under the bell tower, we slept very well. The manager is nice and particular. I recommend it for those who are not too demanding and want something simple.

16/05/2025: Ci avevano segnalato questa antica trattoria a gestione familiare come un gioiello di buona cucina marinara. I piatti che abbiamo consumato, a parte le cozze al verde ottime, non erano all' altezza: frittura dura, poco pastellata, in quantità decisamente insufficiente, sette(!!!) patatine di contorno in un piatto con mezza orata alla ligure arrivata tiepida. Dolci nella media. Prezzi un po' più alti del previsto. Positiva l'accoglienza ed i servizio ai tavoli.

08/05/2025: Excelente comida y servicio. Familia pequeña e íntima operada. Tenía excelentes ensaladas y una versión de pesto que incluía patatas y judías verdes. Buen gusto. Pana cotta para el desierto también fue excelente

16/04/2025: Sono andato a pranzare alle Cave con due miei colleghi. Ci ha accolto una signora molto gentile e cortese, con i capelli biondi e la coda, dopo averci accompagnato al tavolo, però, siamo stati rincorsi per tutta la durata del pranzo da una dipendente non italiana, la quale ci metteva fratta per mangiare in modo tale da poter sparecchiare al più presto la tavola. Inoltre, la signora risulta maleducata e arrogante. Al contrario invece, la dipendente che ci ha accolti ha sempre avuto un comportamento gentile e scrupoloso nei nostri confronti, chiedendoci anche svariate volte se il pranzo fosse di nostro gradimento. Concludo dicendo che, in generale il locale è accogliente (anche se con prezzi un tantino elevati), ma il comportamento di quella dipendente nello specifico, non invoglia la clientela a ritornale nel ristorante.

15/04/2025: I would like to start by saying that I have never written a negative review of any service received anywhere, but today I find myself forced to review a well-known Genoese pastry shop (Panarello in via Caprera) as having bought a cake, specifically a tart with custard and wild strawberries, on the 14th and immediately placed it in the fridge so as to taste it the following day... or today... to my amazement, however, I found the cream completely soured and moldy in the strawberries.. Sure of the high quality of the pastry shop as well as the professionalism, I went to the shop exclusively to report what had happened, not looking for a refund or anything else but I repeat exclusively to report what had happened. The response was "it's impossible he didn't put it in the fridge"... in a very annoyed way... I don't want to say anything else, there could certainly be a mistake, but this response from my point of view it had to be shared.

01/04/2025: Excellent location; food also; prices a little high. The most unpleasant and disconcerting thing is that the service people do not greet you when you enter, they continue to do something else and you don't know if they have seen you and that they often talk about other things among themselves: decidedly unprofessional and not at all welcoming.

12/06/2025: Extremely unfriendly service Oh dear. What a shame. This cafe has such a privileged position only a few metres from the beautiful cathedral in Genoa. We felt like we were intruding and putting the staff to unnecessary and unwanted work. What a miserable bunch of people employed here. We suppose that, due to its perfect location, this cafe could not care less whether we enjoyed our visit or whether we would return. Not even able to raise a smile, or enquire about our intended order, we were left to ask to be served. When asked if we could pay, despite asking in Italian, we felt like we were being dismissed as stupid. What a waste of an opportunity to advertise everything good about Italian hospitality. New staff required. Only a few minutes away is the Cafe Barbarossa. This is what hospitality and service should be like.

02/06/2025: Worst Aperol Spritz of my life (8 euros). It tasted like nothing, it seemed to have been diluted with water. When the attentive waitress pointed out to the, I believe the owner, that she had made a cappuccino all smeared she shrugged, not caring. Very beautiful location in front of the cathedral.

02/06/2025: Poor service: we ordered croissants and after a while of waiting, they told us that they were not ready and that they still had to bake them, after more waiting time and urging them, they brought us croissants with different flavors than those requested saying that they had put them in the wrong oven. Not recommended for the waiting time and service.

21/06/2025: Unfortunately, my last experience at this bar-restaurant was disappointing. Compared to the previous management, there is a clear disorganization that makes the environment less pleasant and the service less fluid. There really is no comparison. The quality of the food is also poor, a real shame because it used to be a strong point. However, there is a positive note to underline: the two waiters from the previous management have stayed, and it shows! They are always competent, reliable and super kind to customers. The girl in particular is really good and professional, a real ray of sunshine in a context that unfortunately has lost a lot.

03/06/2025: A nice outdoor area on the seafront. The only positive side. We ate on Saturday night, attracted by the possibility of watching the match on the 2 large screens placed at the top of the dedicated space, but it is not a restaurant. At the restaurant you can choose food, here no, there is no menu to eat. We were offered lasagna, mini portion, and sandwiches with salami or porchetta or cutlet. The other ingredients of the sandwich were not specified, the chef chose for us. They didn't even have salami, but we only found out after an hour of waiting. But the problem wasn't just us. They lost our reservation made in the morning, they made one mess after another with all the customers by moving tables and plastic chairs while people were just trying to eat peacefully and in company. Everyone was unhappy, at least one mistake in the reservation of seats and food at every table. Some ate with the diners watching them, some ate without drinking, some didn't eat at all and left on an empty stomach. If the old management had written on the awning restaurant, and you withdrew the premises, it does not authorize you to consider yourselves restaurateurs, on the contrary. And at least be honest by specifying it when taking reservations. Terrible, very bad impression with the foreigners present

09/05/2025: To flee! If you want to eat well, go to the local kebab or McDonald’s. A spritz without orange served in a glass of water, the “Italian style” carbo pasta with cream and a portion with an omelette. A Bolognese lasagna with 3 peas… the dirty cutlery, the dirty plates, the restaurant full of unwashable dishes… in short, disastrous service! 48€ to eat poop no thanks

10/03/2025: Hi, I ate at Dick Turpin and I ate well, the service was sufficient, it was a shame about the plastic bottle of water. An advice if you give water, bring it in a glass bottle and an advice for the rest. I ate very well. The paccheri were very good. The guys on the staff were very very kind and professional. I hope to return.
