29/06/2025: Sicuramente cenare in spiaggia a piedi nudi sulla sabbia è davvero il top... ma finisce poi tutto qui. Disorganizzazione totale nel servizio ai tavoli. Il pesce si sentiva che era fresco (ma siamo al mare e direi che è il minimo) ma non aveva molto sapore... le porzioni poi davvero "ristrette". Eravamo in 4 amici ma solo in due bevevamo vino perciò abbiamo chiesto... come da menù ... un calice di vino bianco locale. È arrivato un calice con 2 dita scarse (e lo abbiamo misurato) di vino, praticamente un sorso giusto x risciacquarti la bocca!!! Abbiamo chiesto più volte l'acqua ai tre camerieri che servivano ma niente non arrivava. La mia amica allora è andata a chiederla di persona ma non è servito a nulla, l'hanno portata quasi a fine pasto. Ho speso molto solo per un piatto scarso di gamberi + il calice (fasullo) di vino +coperto... sinceramente lo sconsiglio pessima qualità prezzo/cibo/servizio.

29/06/2025: Lamento dejar una crítica negativa para este lugar, ya que tiene algunos puntos de partida prometedores: una gran ubicación y un ambiente familiar. Sin embargo, parece que los propietarios se han vuelto complacientes, confiando únicamente en el entorno mientras descuidan todo lo demás. El menú consiste principalmente en horno - platos horneados con poca variedad, la selección de vinos incluye solo sus propias botellas - mal servido - y no hay una sonrisa a la vista. Para colmo, la factura era demasiado alta para la experiencia entregada.

23/07/2025: Horrible place. We ordered mussel soup — they brought us something that looked like slop on a plate: shrimp full of sand, mussels that smelled rotten. As I expected, I got food poisoning even though I only ate a few. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! _________________ Locale orribile. Abbiamo ordered a zuppa di cozze — I hanno portato a specialty of schifezza nel piatto: gamberi pieni di sabbia, cozze che puzzavano di marcio. Come immaginavo, mi sono intossicata anche se ne ho mangiate solo un paio. Non lo consiglio a nessuno!

30/08/2025: We were craving farinata and decided to go in. The owner was very kind and cooked it freshly. We also had pizza and loved both! The prices were definitely reasonable! Thank you!

19/08/2025: The place is small and without air conditioning. We walked in and the first thing we noticed was the heat. We then went back twice to get pizzas and the employees were rude and uninterested. I can't complain about the food, considering a sandwich is bigger than my face. 😂 But it's not a great experience.

10/08/2025: A beautiful place, but unfortunately, given the "standing" it aims to maintain, it falls short in some respects, specifically in the following areas: - Tables in the gazebos with rust spots - Side curtains on the gazebo partially missing. - Dirty/stained sun lounger mattress (we asked for it to be replaced, and it was promptly replaced with apologies for the inconvenience). - Bathroom hygiene needs updating (lack of toilet paper in the women's bathroom and cleanliness needs improving). In my opinion, the price paid doesn't match what's offered. Considering that the price for 5 hours (from 2 pm to 7 pm) is €137, I would have expected greater quality and attention to service. It wouldn't take much, especially considering the number of gazebos (28), to make this beach truly the "gem" and most exclusive beach in Santa Margherita, as advertised. I'd also like to point out that we purchased a thermal water bottle. It's very nice looking, with the bathroom logo on it, but it doesn't keep the water cold at all, even though it was guaranteed to work properly at the time of purchase. (Please avoid making any comments without first having verified your claims, to avoid disappointment.) Regarding the restaurant, since we didn't eat there, I can't express any opinion, but having read the dishes offered and given the location, I feel compelled to give a positive assessment. Another positive note was the receptionist, who demonstrated courtesy and professionalism. P.S.: I've changed my rating from 3 to 1 star because I'd like to point out that after just 7 days, the thermal water bottle has rust spots on both the cap and the inside (as shown in the photo). This is absurd; it's unsafe to use, as you risk drinking rust. Any feedback is appreciated.

01/08/2025: This year, like last year, we chose this beach resort for its proximity to home and the gazebos, but we discovered at the start of the season that the management had changed. We immediately had problems with bookings: we therefore decided to start with a week, from Monday, June 30th to Sunday, and this already created problems because the weekly stay, for which we had been asked to pay €1,250 in advance, could not be made due to the different rates between the months of June and July. Therefore, we immediately paid €1,400 for the Monday of June and the week from Tuesday to the following Monday (July). Unfortunately, due to force majeure (bad weather), we lost three days of the booked period, so my husband asked the manager if we could make up the days on other days. He was told that we could only make up two, and although we didn't fully agree, we accepted (at €200 per day). When we rebooked for the two-day make-up session, we were told we were only booking one day, not two. At that point, we replied that we wouldn't be willing to negotiate like in a Marrakech souk, and that in a €200-a-day establishment, customers deserve a service that's proportionate and worthy of the price they pay. Bottom line: three paid days wasted and service subpar due to incompetence and a lack of professionalism, but above all, lost customers.

14/07/2025: Well-equipped bungalow, pool in excellent condition, and almost never crowded. Lack of keys for single rooms. Remarkably far from the city center and no transportation or shuttle to/from the bungalows. Friendly and calm staff.

07/09/2025: On the main street. The terrace is a bit small. More of a snack menu and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious.

07/09/2025: The food was surprisingly good. The food is served on wooden trays, and drinks come in plastic cups. That's why, at first glance, it looks like a cheap cafeteria. But the food is excellent! It's highly recommended. And it's open later than other places in the area. You can eat very late.

28/07/2025: I bought 3 sandwiches, 2 small pieces of focaccia, and 2 cannoli for €8.17. It's a shame the cannoli were old and the pastry was dry, so they filled them with cream on the spot. The bread and focaccia are decent. It's a shame because I'd heard good things about them, and the bread isn't bad.

26/07/2025: Ristorante pizzeria in una via un po fuori dal centro di monterosso con un menù a base di pesce e qualche altro piatto ed è pure pizzeria. Ho mangiato una insalata di polipo eccezionale gustosa e abbondante accompagnata da una vellutata di patate buonissima. Poi trofie con pesto e patate veramente buone. Peccato per le cozze ripiene da cui mi aspettavo di più in quanto si sentiva solo il ripieno molto abbondante e le cozze così sono sparite. Peccato perché avrei dato volentieri il punteggio più alto Servizio puntuale e cordiale. Prezzi nella media per queste località

02/04/2025: Passando per via Balbi in pieno centro storico a Genova vicino alle varie università sono entrato in questo bar caffetteria della nota catena di cucina tipica genovese di bars e caffetteria ben presente in città ed ho preso al banco un ottimo e squisito caffè con un bicchierino di acqua gasata. Il bar è piccolino con tanti tavolini interni nelle varie sale interne ed è frequentato sopratutto da giovani universitari ed è possibile fare colazione ed anche pranzare. Come sempre nei vari locali di Mentelocale il punto di forza è rappresentato da tutto il personale veramente adorabile accogliente sorridente competente gentile cordiale e disponibile. Mon hanno servizio al tavolo credo lo fanno solo a pranzo e quindi bisogna prima pagare e poi andare al banco e fare l’ordinazione. Tornerò un’altra volta per andare a pranzo. Infine i prezzi sono veramente buoni. Passing through via Balbi in the historic center of Genoa near the various universities I entered this bar and cafe of the well-known chain of typical Genoese cuisine of bars and cafes well present in the city and I took an excellent and delicious coffee at the counter with a glass of sparkling water. The bar is small with many internal tables in the various internal rooms and is frequented mainly by young university students and it is possible to have breakfast and also lunch. As always in the various Mentelocale locations the strong point is represented by all the truly adorable, welcoming, smiling, competent, kind, friendly and helpful staff. As always they do not have table service maybe only at lunch and therefore you have to pay first and then go to the counter and place your order. I will return another time for lunch. Finally the prices are really good.

06/07/2025: Very rude manager to an elderly lady who simply asked to replace a piece of sardenara with edges with one without edges from a new pan even though she had already paid for it he refused to replace it saying that the rule of his warehouse rather than shop requires to finish the old pan first before starting the new one now so you do not satisfy the wish of a poor elderly lady for this stupidity of yours and not only was she made fun of by saying that she had no more sardenara and as soon as the lady left he ran to the back of his phantom warehouse to get the new pan of sardenara and when she returned to ask to buy another piece he, the great rude and great rude person that he is, said I don't serve you in this shop anymore go away. Now these are the shopkeepers we should help in times of crisis but if he closed the business and went to work as a dishwasher he would be doing a huge favor 🙏 to the community. Aside from the fact that by law no shopkeeper can refuse to serve paying customers, I'm limiting myself to this review to avoid reporting what happened.

27/06/2025: Like many others I complain about the fact that you can't pay with a debit card. It's absurd and it's also illegal. The food is normal, in fact the bakeries in the interior of Taggia are superior in quality. However, from today I won't go anymore because I only go around with payment cards and my payments start from 15 euros and up.

15/08/2025: We were two people, ravioli with overcooked ragù, mixed fried squid and shrimp only because, according to the owner, the customers at lunch had massacred it, completely raw. Terrible service. Reading the owner's responses to the negative reviews, I would tell him to close the business because tonight he deserved me to call the police. My partner was a gentleman to pay him 70 euros for disgusting food. I'm giving it one star, but it's even too much.

20/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo ristorante spinti dai giudizi positivi di tripadvisor ma siamo stati delusi. Location carina e personale molto gentile ma il cibo che abbiamo ordinato non era all’altezza. Soprattuto deludenti e cari (20€) gli antipasti misti, freddi e pasticciati con salsine varie e unto e fritto il secondo di tonno. Rapporto qualità prezzo totalmente fuori misura.

15/07/2025: Luogo perfetto per coppie. Cena ottima. Personale accogliente e disponibile. Qualità-prezzo ottima. Tornerò sicuramente ad assaggiare altri piatti. Grazie a Maddalena che ci fa sentire a casa.

05/07/2025: Restaurant in operation since the 50s. It has remained that way since then, apparently with little or no maintenance. On a hot evening, the air in the dilapidated outdoor area was unbreathable, despite the fact that it had cooled down outside. Medium-low quality food. Cheap price.

25/07/2025: La sorpresa di trovare un luogo unico ed accogliente in un carruggio vista mare sul porto di Santa è stata completata da un’esperienza gastronomica altrettanto sorprendente. Ricette non banali, qualità ineccepibile attenzione e cordialità nel servizio Il tutto ad un prezzo più che equo. Cosa chiedere di più? Bravi!!
