16/08/2026: We tried this restaurant in August 2026 and were pleased with the spaghetti with clams we ordered. The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. Really good!

15/08/2026: Sorry, we still have a long way to go. The food was on par with any tourist spot in the area. The real downside was the service. We sat down at a table and a man next to us collapsed from his chair. After 20 minutes, a table of young men sat down, and a few minutes later, a young woman collapsed from her chair. We later discovered that the chair they gave the young woman was the same one that had collapsed moments before. A young boy dropped a glass and it shattered into a thousand pieces; no waiter picked them up. We took care to point out to the staff the glass shards under a little girl's high chair. To top it off, they dumped the "dead" chair next to our table (photo attached). The bill was €100 for two people, including a fried fish split between two people, a grilled octopus, a mixed grill, and a tiramisu. House wine was €15. Highly not recommended.

07/04/2026: Superb fresh Ligurian pasta, borage-filled ravioli, pansoti, fish-filled ravioli, trofie—all fresh and delicious. Freshly made walnut sauce and traditional pesto. The owner is extremely friendly and offers excellent cooking tips. Highly recommended.

22/03/2026: We waited over an hour and 10 minutes for a plate of pasta that never arrived...! We finally got up and left! Don't waste your time waiting, terrible service and a non-existent waitress...they don't bring your drinks, and they can't give you a waiting time...

17/06/2026: A charming little pub on the main promenade in Porto Venere. The service was friendly and helpful. We ordered an Aperol Spritz, and it turned out to be the best (and strongest) I've ever had in all of Italy! The toast with salad was also delicious. I'm only sorry we only stayed a few hours in Porto Venere – we sailed there from Monterosso al Mare – otherwise we would have been regulars. We'll definitely be back!! Thank you ❤️

12/06/2026: Ice cream parlor by the harbor. Nice terrace with a nice view, clean, and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms.

21/07/2026: Every year I come to Pietra Ligure, it's a must-visit. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The fish is very good. The staff is very friendly. I recommend it.

15/08/2026: Truly beautiful place, I go there almost every time, and it's a sure thing. The photos show a basic aperitif, but if you want to add more, you can easily do so; just ask at the bar before sitting down. My advice: it's definitely worth booking or calling in advance. This way, you'll give the staff time to organize and prepare excellent, fast, and highly personalized service. Wonderful staff, highly recommended!

07/08/2026: A disaster, the management has changed, a very bad experience

02/07/2026: A perfect evening! We reached the restaurant and were enchanted by the location. We were assigned a table slightly higher than the beach, even though I had requested a table by the sea when booking. Without asking, the girl, very kindly, after delivering the water, moved us right to the sea, and we were truly amazed by such beauty. Perfect dinner, excellent dishes, excellent wines, and even more, dolphins in the background. Thank you again for the candle on the tiramisu for Beatrice's birthday, and we thank all the staff for their kindness and friendliness, especially for the compliments from a young man at the end of the dinner.

01/07/2026: I say this sadly as a Ligurian... a classic Ligurian place with infinite potential given the location, but absolutely disappointing for what was offered. The food was completely lacking in elaborateness. I chose the squid ink tortelli with chives and scallops... They had no seasoning, a bland taste, and could have been anything. My companion had a swordfish steak with potatoes that tasted like they came from a supermarket deli. In total, two appetizers, one first course, one second course, and two glasses of wine cost €96. I'd gladly pay that, given the location, but for food that was up to par. Wake up, guys... it's a shame to exploit that place so badly.

08/06/2026: A simple, unambitious restaurant. The ragù is a bit watery, and the fried food is very greasy.

22/07/2026: This is no longer the same restaurant, as the chef has changed and he/she has failed at every dish. For example, the sea bass with coarse salt was bone dry and served with ordinary potatoes and beans, for 40 euros. No manager was present, which was scandalous. What a decline after all these years. It's hard to believe that there are such incompetent professional chefs. Another example: the foie gras marinated in Calvados was completely burnt! Service was provided by inexperienced young people. Unacceptable for these prices. Perhaps the view is stunning, but that's not their fault. One of the worst meals of our lives. Shameful!

18/07/2026: BEWARE OF THE CHEF! These crafty people on the website have removed the previous chef, MARNO, from the kitchen. He hasn't worked at Balzi Rossi for over six months. Reading the updated reviews, it's easy to explain why.

16/02/2026: Beautiful, traditional, and family-friendly place. A warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good, traditional dishes that aren't too expensive, excellent value for money. I had the linguine allo scoglio, which was delicious and buttery; my girlfriend had the penne all'arrabbiata, which tasted more like penne all'aglione than all'arrabbiata, given the amount of garlic in it, but still very good. The pizzas were very tasty and had excellent leavening, being soft and fluffy. It's a shame that the service could be improved; it was a bit chaotic, but otherwise, nothing to complain about.

10/08/2026: While strolling through Vernazza, I stumbled upon this place. Immediately struck by the location, I ordered the trofie al pesto. What can I say? They were so good that on my third day in the Cinque Terre, I returned for a third time to try them, and I also found the staff to be kind and courteous. Congratulations again, keep up the good work!

05/07/2026: I stayed for 3 days, booked via email, everyone was very kind, lunch was excellent and although it was very hot, the canopy where you have lunch is well made and insulates from the heat, the food at lunch was very good... I recommend it

07/07/2026: We went to eat as a family, and frankly, we ate very well, the service was superb, and the waiter was incredibly attentive. The only downside was the lack of a child seat.

24/10/2025: We absolutely loved the food. Everything was delicious, super tasty, and there's also a small, fantastic selection for vegans – something different from the usual pasta with tomato sauce. Highly recommended!
