23/03/2025: We went to this place for a Sunday lunch with the family, it was the first time and we were immediately struck by the uniqueness and beauty of the location where you can breathe a vintage atmosphere but everything is taken care of in the best possible way down to the smallest details, fast and welcoming service ready to satisfy even the needs of the little ones, and finally the dishes, in addition to being beautiful to look at, were above all good, good, good, so the place is highly recommended!!!!!!!

The eccentric and refined environment makes the experience even more pleasant, while the quality of the raw materials is simply excellent. The seasonal and refined menu shows great attention to detail and culinary creativity. A place that knows how to amaze and conquer with every visit. Highly recommended!

28/02/2025: I returned to the Taverna after years of absence from Viterbo and, mindful of a very positive memory, I brought several colleagues with me. The place has been renovated and expanded, I still have the memory of the very kind previous owner who always welcomed us with a smile and kindness. Unfortunately the management has changed and with it also the way of welcoming customers. As soon as we arrived we moved the table slightly away from the wall, because the paint was crumbling due to the humidity and we didn't want to get our jackets dirty. We were rudely reprimanded by the blonde-haired waitress. During dinner, with us already seated, she arrives and moves the table again saying that it was crooked, we look at her astonished without saying a word. We ordered some cuts of Black Angus, some weighing 500g. As soon as we started cutting the meat we noticed that it had a lot of nerve filaments and fat inside. I kindly asked them to change the knife. I pointed out that the one they brought me didn't cut either and in response I was told that you can't cut the nerves but you have to fray them. It was almost time for me to be given a lesson in cutting meat, it was the first time I was told that the sinews present in the meat cannot be cut, to justify the problem that the cut brought to the customer was full of sinews and excessive fat (over 200g of the 500gr was fat). Seeing another colleague of mine, who had ordered the same cut of meat and couldn't eat it because it contained more fat than mine, I called the waitress and told her to go to the kitchen and point out that the meat had some problems being consumed and that the cut was evidently very fatty. I asked to tell the chef and I was told "he's busy at the moment, if you want, go and tell him everything". Let's start from good manners, first of all it could have been my daughter and she allows herself to address me firsthand, furthermore I am the customer and I certainly don't go into the kitchen at most the chef goes to the table as soon as it is free and asks what's wrong. Obviously none of this happened, they continued to address us as informal, when we reached the cashier the chef came out of the kitchen and told us that the cuts of meat were all the same. He took a piece of beef loin and exclaimed this is the same as the one you ordered, it's a shame that we ordered Black Angus. In response, I pointed out to him that some cuts of meat can happen with a bit of fat inside but what arrived at our table was truly excessive. Taking into account that the chef was convinced of his reasons, we settled the bill and wished them a good evening. I will refrain from reporting the opinions of other colleagues, suffice it to say that they were all negative and they were deeply disappointed.

14/03/2025: We had lunch in this little corner in the heart of the historic center of Viterbo 1 week ago, it seemed for a moment that we were in the heart of Trastevere, with this typical arch at the entrance to the trattoria with a picturesque and historical painting of San Cristoforo, protector of travellers. It was by pure chance that we found the place and found this trattoria. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent and plentiful food, all homemade and fresh, from first courses to dessert. Definitely worth returning.

02/03/2025: Small place but really great quality of food and kindness, I had lunch with an excellent course of spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and bottarga, a very deep Sardinian taste, excellent cooking of the pasta, very shallow pizza, crunchy and fresh taste of delicious mozzarella, large and cooked remarkably well, quality of a melted fresh wine, accompanied by carasau bread and fresh cheese Su Casizolu, a genuine Sardinian caciocavallo of great quality and flavor of an ancient land that recalls the my mother and my grandparents, and then the kindness of an owner who exalts a very ancient gastronomic tradition in this city

11/03/2025: Beautiful and welcoming environment, very kind and smiling staff, excellent breakfasts with a vast choice of pastries, croissants and much more, the only flaw (and not a small one) is already the second time that I happen to go at 9 in the morning and find the bathroom without toilet paper and napkins to dry my hands, I could understand at the end of the day but not in the morning. But the environment, the breakfast and the staff are worth 4 stars💪

04/02/2025: I must say that there is no more appropriate name.... A lot of good... By name and fact! Quality, courtesy and goodness in its pure state. I stumbled upon it by chance I must say... But, I appreciated the quality of the products... A delicious cappuccino accompanied by an equally good croissant. My choice of filling fell on pistachio... But next time, you go too, I'll try it with pear, or orange or more simply apricot jam.

15/02/2025: A beautiful discovery. The location of the Grottino reflects the atmosphere of Viterbo, adequate furnishings for a place in the historic center, in my humble opinion the roses were a little out of place but otherwise everything was very nice. Let's get to the dishes: very good mixed house starter, excellent raw materials, cheeses and cured meats, although I would have avoided the bresaola rolls with spreadable cheese and the slightly old-fashioned combination of melon and raw ham. Pea and asparagus timbale excellent, as is the cheese quiche. The savory croissant stuffed with lard is excellent. The first courses (green tortelli stuffed with cheese with truffle and asparagus tagliatelle with crispy bacon and pecorino di fossa) were overall very good, with two small imperfections: 1) the tortelli pastry was very thick; 2) they were not drained carefully, in fact I detected the presence of cooking water at the bottom of the plate. The tagliatelle were perfect. Good coffee served with artisanal chocolates. Of note is the extreme professionalism of the dining room staff, from picking up coats as soon as we enter to bringing a bag hanger to the table for my lady, always keeping glasses full, providing differentiated menus (mine with prices, my wife's without prices). The only advice is to make the wooden balustrade more stable when climbing the stairs leading to the bathroom. Excellent value for money. Super recommended.
