The service was impeccable, and the staff were kind and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the place is perfect for a relaxing break surrounded by Subiaco's nature. I highly recommend it! 😊
02/02/2026: My mother's 80th birthday, with us, her children, and grandchildren. We were all delighted by the dishes, always colorful and with flavors you could taste. He was so kind, he even brought us a few extra plates so we could taste them together! The dishes were so delicious, they even awakened the senses of my ninety-year-old dad! Thanks again :-)

06/05/2026: We booked a lunch at the restaurant during the week. The rooms are simple, clean, and the tables are well-kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. The traditional dishes are well-prepared with quality ingredients. The prices are very reasonable. The bar, located on the ground floor, has a large outdoor terrace with tables. Parking is nearby.

24/03/2026: Sapori e Bontà is a family-run restaurant where women rule the roost, literally. The Calabrian family runs this corner of Calabria in Livata. They offer traditional cuisine with exceptional ingredients. I recommend the fried meatballs with a secret aroma...crazy! Never stop. The baked chicken is exceptional.
You absolutely have to try it.
Few seats, but it's welcoming and simple.
The service is excellent.

Waitresses have to leave one room and return from the other because the two rooms aren't connected except by a serving hatch.
Relatively informal service. The wait is a bit long given that they only serve two dishes per course. The food is good, but the house appetizer is meager. Prices are high.

02/05/2026: A wonderful experience at this old "hosterya" from the early 1900s. The polenta was excellent, especially the wild boar one, and then the "abbraccio" (hug). Finally, the sour cherry tart, made entirely by the 83-year-old grandmother, including the jam.
07/03/2026: A delicious lunch; my guests were amazed by the deliciousness of the appetizers: the fettuccine alla ciociara (truly superb), roast lamb for the younger guests, and a mouth-watering pork shank with potatoes. Dessert at the end: a wonderful zuppa inglese. The service was relaxed because the food is freshly prepared. Thank you, see you next time.

It's particularly suitable for those who want to dine in a vintage/retro atmosphere with pleasant background music. A place where you can enjoy conversation while enjoying excellent food. The dishes are generous and expertly prepared—not at all predictable. We enjoyed the asparagus carbonara, which deserves a ten. The ingredients are high-quality, as is the welcome we received. You can taste the passion behind the dishes and the desire to serve good food and leave a pleasant memory. One of those places worth remembering, and an experience we highly recommend.

12/04/2026: The polenta with sausage and spare ribs was delicious, the service was amazing, and the place has a fireplace or stove that keeps you warm.
The price was right.
We'll definitely be back soon!
07/02/2026: Excellent restaurant for a bite to eat between sledding rides. The view is beautiful, but the polenta with ribs won't keep you from looking at your plate(s).
My sweet tooth was satisfied with the potatoes and chicken, which we had to take away in a doggy bag because we were so full. Very fair price.
P.S. How much do the brown horses cost?

11/05/2026: One of Subiaco's historic venues, a must-try in every way!
26/04/2026: The pappardelle with wild boar was disappointing: the meat didn't seem fresh enough, and the portion wasn't particularly generous, especially compared to the one served at the next table.
The guanciale in the tagliolini with asparagus and porcini mushrooms also didn't taste fresh.
The €2 coffee is a difficult price to justify (even in Venice). The €6 glass of wine was served in truly meager quantities.
Furthermore, there were no bread or parmesan cheese at the table, which is expected in a restaurant of this type.
For a €41 bill for two dishes, one would expect at least the courtesy of a small rounding up to €40, especially with new customers: personally, I would welcome them differently.
On a positive note: the splendid view of the Rocca di Subiaco.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

03/09/2025: We ate there just before the end of summer, and the value for money was terrible! It's a real shame to walk in remembering Mamma Peppina and walk out disappointed!!! Never again!
