I come to Monte Livata from Rome once or twice a year, knowing I'm coming to eat here! Anyone who complains about prices, hospitality, service, and food should relax and understand the situation outside of the big cities! A wonderful family that runs a business in an area that was dying until a year or two ago!!! Hang in there, even for us who appreciate your work. 💜 Stop watching food shows and writing bad reviews just for one bad day! €14 for a large first course, no, but if you're in Trastevere, you can spend up to €20? Do you understand how stupid this is? Thanks again. P.S. THE HOT TART IS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE EVERY TIME 😍🫶

We ate wonderfully, delicious dishes in an unusual restaurant with a very homey feel.
The variety may not be as great, but that shows how excellent, healthy, and homey the cooking is.

We had lunch on Sunday, having made a reservation the same day. Two adults and two children.
I must admit, we never expected such a pleasant place: an open fireplace, snowflakes outside the window, wonderful food (all the pasta was homemade), and the kindness of the owners.
We'll definitely be back!

The grilled meat was good, cooked as I wanted, tasty, unfortunately the polenta with the spare ribs was without salt and two sausages on a slice of bread, 12€ apart from the grilled meat, the rest was a disappointment, the steak was 25€ but the rest were high prices.

Excessive wait for a table, adapt to a table of 4 for 6 paying people, otherwise we would have had to wait much longer, zero options are on the menu even if written but not available...

A welcoming location. You walk in and immediately feel enveloped by the warmth of this restaurant, as if you were at home (along with that magnificent fireplace). Very good food. The place is clean and tidy, and the staff are incredibly friendly (the guy who takes care of the grill is truly amazing). I compliment this restaurant because, with fair prices, it lets you eat good food in a charming setting, and spend a couple of hours with a great family, that of "Il Capriolo."

Update January 2025: We live near Subiaco and always come here as soon as we can. The owner is very kind, we have a large, good-natured, and well-behaved dog, and she sat us near the stove in the first room at the entrance. Typical mountain hut, pet-friendly (but please let us know if you have a dog when booking). Wood-fired oven, wooden tables, spacious rooms, and the aroma of polenta, meat, chicory, potatoes, sausages, bacon...etc. Attentive, fast, and friendly staff. Compliments to the young man who served us at the table, always in a good mood and smiling as he explained the dishes of the day to us.
