25/12/2024: We went for lunch on Christmas Day. The menu had therefore been prepared for that occasion. So, elegant and refined environment, courteous, competent and truly passionate staff about the work they do. The menu prepared for Christmas Day was of rare refinement, from the welcome cocktail to the sweets made by them, through to the various delicacies that made up the menu. Personally, due to the work I have done in the past, I believe I have a good knowledge, at an international level, of what a gala lunch should be like having taken part in the work at the European Commission and in all the capitals of the European Union. I must say that the overall management of the lunch and the dishes prepared would not have disfigured at all, on the contrary, if compared with the numerous official lunches in which I took part. Truly many congratulations and best wishes for prosperity. Obviously going back is certainly a must given the extraordinary experience. Portuguese Tiberius

13/01/2025: It was me and my partner on Sunday 12 January, by pure chance, we were hungry and went in. An excellent welcome, then the chef offers us appetizers with various tastes, It was all a triumph of delicious and interesting flavours. Various courses of chickpeas with porcini mushrooms, various cheeses and many other good things. The top was the polenta with cream of broccoli, bacon and pecorino. Amazing. We then had two excellent desserts. Truly a nice discovery. We will be back to eat the first courses. Really friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

28/12/2024: Tante cose, tutte buone. Saporite e non salate. Deliziosi gli svariati antipasti. Primi di qualità: porzioni generose e ben preparate. Locale accogliente. Lo chef Nunzio dice la sua e si destreggia bene senza esagerare con i condimenti. Buoni anche i dolci e il caffé. Servizio veloce, preciso e con i giusti tempi. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Merita un ritorno.

Giorgia and Gloria followed us step by step throughout the preparation with patience, availability and professionalism. A thunderous applause to all the dining room staff: every waiter and all the kitchen staff proved to be competent, attentive, professional and discreet in their service. Note of merit to the maitre Emiliano who accompanied us throughout the day, putting himself, in fact, at our service and giving us precious information. Amazing food. Everyone did their part to make our day perfect and wonderful. It wouldn't be right to influence the review for this but I'll add a side note for the only flaw: terrible experience with the florist of the location. For floral arrangements, look elsewhere. For everything else, the Vecchio Borgo is the location you are looking for for your special day. Highly recommended!

19/01/2025: We just enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at Taverna Mari. The service from the waiter Luigi was friendly, attentive and very clean. The food in its traditional flavors is so excellent it amazes. The egg pasta used in the first courses is of excellent quality, with that callus that is now rare. Desserts and a carefully crafted selection of wines complete the wonderful experience. Old but gold some would say. Long live this restaurant, which believes in the value of knowing how to receive with taste and attention. Last and obvious note: the pleasure of finding tables with white tablecloths is priceless.

07/01/2025: Very small but warm and welcoming place with exposed embers, attentive and helpful staff. You can choose between a land and sea menu, we opted for meat. All the tastings included in the starter were good. Good quality steak and cuts cooked to perfection on the grill. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

24/01/2025: I have been coming to this restaurant for about 35 years and unfortunately I have to say that this time I was disappointed. I can't say I eat badly but not as well as I remembered. Always welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, but stuffed pasta, meat and vegetables without infamy or praise while the spaghetti with black cabbage and crusco pepper is delicious. Good tiramisu. Normal flavours, all stewed cooking without the crunchiness necessary for the suckling pig and the shank. Definitely good for foreigners, for us Italians but above all Romans a little less so.

21/01/2025: I have had the opportunity to frequent this place many times over the years and I have always appreciated the type and structure, very welcoming and well-kept and I have always been pleased to return with friends who do not know it. Unfortunately lately I have not been satisfied with the creation of the dishes which did not live up to expectations. The first courses are always good, especially the water and flour pasta with black cabbage, sausage and pecorino cheese, truly delicious. Unfortunately, in the seconds the result changed considerably and both the suckling pig and the shank proved to be decidedly disappointing, so much so that they heavily penalized the final judgement! Tiramisu always excellent. The overall rating is based on the missed expectations for a satisfying dinner in a place where one certainly expects more...
