30/07/2024: Luckily I had called on the phone to book a table for two. They gave us the worst table under the dirty wall (outside). Then people came and they made them choose the tables as they liked. To top it off, the pizza was very salty and not just mine. Furthermore, inside the pizza while I was eating I felt something hard in my mouth and I spat it out into the napkin, without checking. Then I found a splinter of wood of about 3 cm in the pizza, where I personally handed it into the hands of the owner's son who regretfully wanted to remake the pizza for me. I'm sorry too but that thing could really have been dangerous! I left without even finishing my meal! NOT RECOMMENDED!

07/08/2024: A slightly different self-service place. Excellent fried food. Very spacious and airy. Worth trying for a quick and undemanding dinner. The only flaw is perhaps the courses do not respect the precise order of the dinner (starter, first course and side dish). But that's okay too. Returned this year for a quick first. I confirm my old impression but two first courses, linguine with clams (good), 38 euros with two bottles of water. Given the absence of service, plates, placemats and paper cups, it seems a bit excessive to me.

25/08/2024: Location suggestiva tra i resti della cattedrale . Titolare gentile e attento , così come il resto del personale . Ottimo il vino servito , blend di chardonnay malvasia e trebbiano Top la paella , di alta qualità Lo consiglio vivamente anche per rapporto qualità prezzo Bravi !

24/08/2024: Ciccillo , in estate, esce dalle cantine per approdare alla sovrastante chiesa sconsacrata priva del tetto, praticamente un chiostro. Cena raffinatissima in un ambiente esclusivo e ovattato sotto le stelle. Ottimo e vario il menù. C'è da lavorare un po' ancora sul servizio un po' incerto. Ottimo il prezzo. Ristorante da non perdere, soprattutto per una cena romantica.

01/09/2024: I confirm the positive ratings for this family-run place. Excellent linguine with anchovies and battered cod to try. A tribute to the mixed cup. Basic service but the quality of the fish overshadows.

27/08/2024: This little restaurant never gets boring! This year I tried a little bit of everything. Very fresh fish, fried crispy and piping hot. Quick service, courteous staff. Very convenient location: in front of the sea, Piazza Cab0to height. It doesn't accept reservations: I recommend going as soon as it opens, because after a while a nice queue starts to build up and the place is tiny. I can't wait to go back!!!! I especially recommend cuopparello with anchovies and calamari. But also pasta omelette and rice ball. Thank you!!!!! Third year we come to Gaeta: Mare fritto is a fixed stop!!!

30/07/2024: During a visit to a beautiful beach in Gaeta, I found myself stuck in traffic on the way back. On the recommendation of a local bar, I decided to stop for dinner at this restaurant. At first I was a little hesitant, fearing that it was a gourmet restaurant and therefore very expensive. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is cared for down to the smallest detail and the staff is numerous and attentive. The food was truly delicious, with generous portions that fully satisfied my appetite. I left the restaurant with a full belly and a great sense of satisfaction. Furthermore, the service was quick and the prices were very affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area. It was an excellent dining experience that I will definitely repeat.

25/08/2024: “VERY NEGATIVE” experience 8 adults 3 children We arrive at the restaurant at 9 already to add a table for 2 more people, they make us wait 20 minutes and we are left standing at the mercy of the time... “It's Saturday evening, forgive us but we are very full” Ok it's okay LET'S ORDER The owner's wife comes, we order all the first courses and the drinks, mainly water and a single bottle of wine for €18. The lady reiterates that it is Saturday evening and therefore it will take a little time. OK WE ORDER THE FIRST 10 first courses and a schnitzel with chips. and my son had a penne with sauce... the lady reiterates and on Saturday evening you also want to order the second courses so don't wait too long ok we'll tell him the second courses too The first ones arrive at 10.20am and we eat, mine, to tell the truth, is very good quality... At 11.45 the second courses had arrived only two, a fried prawns and calamari and a sea bream fillet with almonds (I had also ordered that but unfortunately it never arrived) 12.00 still nothing after having asked a lot of times if it would take time they tell us that they made a mistake in delivering our orders to another table mha…. We get up annoyed and don't want to have dinner anymore. € first courses average price €15 okay always gourmet giant dishes a taste of pasta inside but I don't think this fits, The lady gives us €43 discount for the inconvenience I paid €60 for 3 first courses covered €3 per person 4-5 bottles of water arrived, the owner gives us €220 the husband comes out because I tell him look that the service sucked in my opinion it's a lot the husband with a pedantic look tells me it's already a lot what we did oh well in a polite way I go to get the card to pay I go back to the cashier 3 other couples to complain about the time and the poor quality of the lobster they had bought that smelled, I pay, let's go out there a boy from that group starts vomiting from the lobster that smelled and he didn't feel well suddenly a friend of ours with a white face doesn't feel well either... 16/08/2024: I don't even know where to start, but I would like to start from the only positive note, even if not too positive... the place! We were 7 people on holiday in Gaeta and we were looking for a quiet place similar to a Roman hosteria that could satisfy adults, children and vegetarians. We found this place on Google and from the menu description we decided to go. As soon as we arrived we noticed that it is located on an uphill road, a little dangerous because cars pass by and it is narrow... but upon entering the place it immediately makes a good impression on us, fresh, tidy, clean and all the foods on display in the shop windows, from fish to fruit, but this is where the problems begin... we had booked for 7 and they prepared a table for 5, once seated at the table we noticed that in the room where we were there it was at least 20 degrees and considering that all outside there were at least 32, we ask to lower it a bit because they were starting to get cold...we look at the menus, some of the figures are affordable, others are not...since it's 10.30pm they ask us not to choose elaborate food because the kitchen was in closing, so we book appetizers and pizzas. In the meantime, no one turns down the air conditioning, my mother-in-law was feeling unwell and my 8 year old daughter was shivering with cold, we called back to have it turned down. The dishes arrived after about 30 minutes, the Atratino starter was very good, the pizzas were some very good, others a little chewy, but the peppery mussels left something to be desired... the mussels were as small as 5 cents and many were empty . My partner orders a glass of house wine for €5 from a second waiter, 5/10/15/20/30 minutes pass and we see him wandering around the room and looking at us from time to time, whereupon he is asked again for the glass, he brings it to us after another 5 minutes and it was 2 fingers of wine!!!!! At this point we ask to speak to the room manager to understand and he arrives directly with the bottle of wine to fill the glass and from this we understood that not all the waiters are trained for service. We finished dinner and no one ever turned down the air conditioning, we were cold, some with a headache and some with a stomach ache (from indigestion), we women went towards the exit to smoke a cigarette and in the meantime, we almost came hit by a car, which as I said before is a dangerous road! The men pay and return with a bill that makes your head spin, but leaving aside the food... what shocked us the most was the price of 1 LITER OF COCA COLA 6.00! I hope you can have a better experience than ours 😅
