06/07/2026: Went for dinner with my son. A simple place where you order directly at the counter, find a free table, and wait for the kitchen to call your name and bring your order to you on a tray. A bit chaotic. Good food, except for the mussels (not cleaned, small, and flavorless). Prices slightly lower than traditional restaurants.

17/05/2026: Captivated by the aesthetic details of the exterior, the interior is also very beautiful and welcoming, with stone walls, an antique oil mill, and an ancient cistern underneath. Even though there was only one person handling orders and service, we relaxed and the wait was worth it. Both the tiella and the first course were delicious, plus a nice selection of wines. One detail, which I've attached a photo of, is that be careful of the steps inside; one is a bit longer, and if you're distracted by the beauty of the place inside, you could easily trip. Good value for money.

07/05/2026: Couple's dinner. The atmosphere is well-ventilated, intimate, and reflects the town's history. Many of the dishes are labeled with allergen information, and caters to those who require gluten-free or lactose-free options. The traditional products and dishes are excellent, especially the olive oil from local producers. Special praise goes to the service.

03/04/2026: I had a really good time. I went alone for some peace and quiet, and they did. I found plenty of tables with couples, but also tables with friends. The food was excellent, and the sandwiches were delicious. I can't complain at all.

05/08/2026: We chose this restaurant, where we've been coming for years and have always enjoyed it, to celebrate a special occasion. When we booked, we had also asked for a table near the air conditioning, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. It was scorching hot! When we arrived, the table wasn't ready yet, and the service was truly disappointing. The waiter proved to be unprepared: the requested ice bucket for the wine never arrived, and we drank it warm. The numerous empty water bottles remained on the table throughout the dinner, and when it was time for the cake, I had to clear the space myself. Even the prosecco was opened and left in a corner on the table... without being served; the glasses arrived much later, when it was already warm. As for the food, there's nothing to complain about; it remains as good as ever. It's a shame, however, that the portions, once one of the restaurant's strong points, seemed decidedly small. We left feeling a bit disappointed, especially since it was an important evening for the birthday boy...

29/07/2026: We had "Le Fantasie del Mare" as an appetizer, perfect for two because it's plentiful, and that alone was filling. Then we had a first course, a generous and very tasty one, and a second course... 3 bottles of water and a dessert. We split everything between two people because otherwise we wouldn't have finished anything. Good value for money. The place is a bit rustic, but it's definitely worth it... The staff is kind and courteous.

15/08/2026: We had lunch at Il Follaro in Gaeta and chose the seafood tasting menu. What can I say: EXCELLENT and QUALITY! Each dish was prepared with the freshest fish, carefully presented, and well-balanced pairings. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety: traditional Gaeta appetizers, first courses with seafood, and a truly delicate stewed second course. Beautiful location on the seafront, quiet and refined atmosphere. Special mention goes to the staff: kind, helpful, smiling, and professional, they immediately made us feel at ease. Excellent value for a seafood restaurant of this caliber in Gaeta. Definitely worth a try! 💯

14/08/2026: I give one star because it's the best! Five people in the dining room, but only two actual staff. One of them didn't even understand Italian. We ordered a bottle of wine and, to our complete disappointment, they informed us they didn't have any ice. In August, wine gets warm quickly. We ordered two first courses: -1 with dried lupini beans, and a spaghetti dish that seemed pre-cooked. -1 with mussels, which, by comparison, tasted good like frozen ones. Disappointing. I only feel sorry for two of the staff in the dining room who were trying in vain to make up for the kitchen's shortcomings. HORRIBLE!

25/07/2026: A pleasant discovery in Gaeta! I've been to Lup di Mare in Gaeta and it was a truly excellent experience. The restaurant is in a fantastic location, right on the seafront and the marina. The attention and service were impeccable; I felt very welcomed. And to finish on a high note, a fantastic Vecchio Amaro del Capo, chilled, as a digestif! A truly fantastic place, and I'll definitely return. Highly recommended!

12/07/2026: The staff is slow and inattentive to customers. You can't seat people and then, after 10 minutes, tell them the kitchen is closed and make them leave without eating.

29/04/2026: What more can I say? A fitting conclusion to the Camino de San Filippo Neri. The restaurant's terrace is a dream, with its view. The food is fresh and well-cooked, all accompanied by impeccable service. What more could we ask for? Top, thank you so much.

01/05/2026: I came here to eat with my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had octopus salad and paella Gaetana. The mussels were also very good as an appetizer. The waitress is very attentive and stays in the dining room with the guests; service is very fast. I recommend making a reservation. At 1:00 PM, the place was almost empty, and it was a holiday; it gradually filled up.

03/08/2026: A family-friendly, informal place. We tried the typical Gaeta dish, calamarelle alla vota, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The first courses were also good, but we didn't try the desserts. The house wine was mediocre (though it was from a Roman winery, bottled with the restaurant's label). Prices were reasonable. Reservations are required (at least on summer weekends).

A truly positive experience, made even more special by the tranquility of the location and the splendid coastal backdrop.

23/07/2026: Negative experience. Initially, I wasn't given the total bill, and after paying in cash, I wasn't given a receipt, making it impossible to properly verify the change. After pointing this out, I was given a receipt, which showed a more expensive product than the one I actually purchased. After reporting this, the owner corrected the amount and refunded me the difference. However, upon subsequent calculations, I found a difference of 10 cents less than the amount due on the change. The amount is negligible, and for this reason, I haven't raised any further complaints. However, considering the overall situation, I can't say I had a positive experience and I wouldn't recommend the place.
