03/05/2026: A simple restaurant with excellent food, fresh fish, generous portions, and excellent service. We've been here two nights in a row and will be back.

12/04/2026: We were guests for a day at the beach. The buffets were amazing and authentic. The staff was courteous and attentive.

07/04/2026: We had a fantastic meal there. We ordered the fried seafood and the pasta with pistachio pesto. We also had several appetizers. We highly recommend it. The service was amazing, too. They even gave us a bowl of water for our dog. We also highly recommend the ice cream parlor across the street.

01/05/2026: I came here to eat with my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had octopus salad and paella Gaetana. The mussels were also very good as an appetizer. The waitress is very attentive and stays in the dining room with the guests; service is very fast. I recommend making a reservation. At 1:00 PM, the place was almost empty, and it was a holiday; it gradually filled up.

07/03/2026: Tremendous old school cooking in a place that looks like it hasn't changed in decades. We were recommended to come here by the boss of La Salute which was closed for renovation. Terrific antipasti selection. Worth a visit.

25/02/2026: A historic restaurant in Gaeta, every time you go on a trip, you eat at Masaniello. The fish is incredibly fresh, the service is impeccable, and the prices are affordable.

30/12/2025: I visited this pub as a couple and had a truly pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available, making us feel immediately at ease. The quality of the meat is excellent, well-cooked, and flavorful; you can sense the attention to detail in selecting the ingredients. The place is beautiful, well-kept, and very welcoming, perfect for a quiet evening or just to spend time with friends. Definitely a place to return to.

23/11/2025: Terrible November 2025 A beautiful and well-maintained place, except that the service was so terrible that we left, warning them that this isn't the way to behave, and without having eaten anything. At 12:45, a friend and I sat down because from the outside it looked like an inspiring place. Upon entering, we found a table (practically served) and a table that had already ordered, and then it was just us. Within a few minutes, we took our order, which consisted of two plates of bruschetta (three bruschettas per plate) and two glasses of white wine. Around 1:00, the wine arrived, and so far so good, but then time began to pass and we began to have some doubts. At 1:40, we decided that if another five minutes had passed without seeing the bruschetta, we would have left. Meanwhile, in those 40 minutes (40 minutes for six bruschettas), two more tables were seated and ordered. At 1:45 PM, after an hour, the bruschetta was brought to the table, unfortunately not ours, where the gentlemen had sat down practically fifteen minutes earlier. Maybe they didn't like the fact that we only wanted an aperitif, or I don't know, but it's truly unreasonable to wait about 50 minutes for six bruschetta that we've practically never seen. I can understand if there had been a lot of people, full tables, and so many orders, but it really wasn't the case, so we stood up, thanked them, told them that they shouldn't do that, and left. Never again.

03/05/2026: Fast self-service, ok place, but I found everything a bit too salty (I ate a plate and swordfish) and the wine by the glass was poor.

03/05/2026: Terrible experience! I went to the restaurant on the evening of May 1st. I waited an hour in line to order and about an hour and a half to receive it. Extremely disorganized, short-staffed, and completely unprepared for such a varied menu. The fried calamari was rubbery, and the sea bream meatballs were slightly undercooked. The prices are very high for the portions and the quality of the food. The fish is fresh, but it's not worth spending so much and waiting so long (while being inundated with an ungodly fried stench). I do not recommend it.

03/05/2026: Dated structure and 1980s decor, service and attitude stuck in those days, too few waiters for so many people. The seafood risotto was overcooked and would have been fine for toothless elderly people, the fried food arrived cold, the seafood salad tasteless and salty, and lacking extra virgin olive oil. The price was high for the quality of the food and service. It's just a shame we had to detour about 150 km to eat these dishes.

01/05/2026: We were there today for the first time and we will definitely be back, we ate very well, very abundant dishes and excellent service, thanks next time.

11/04/2026: The only bar in Gaeta that closes late, it also serves as a tobacconist, making it very convenient. The desserts are sometimes not the freshest and are overpriced compared to other bars and pastry shops in Gaeta. Its central location is undoubtedly a strong point. Overall, a good place.

05/04/2026: N.c.s. We're not there. The bathrooms are filthy. The ice cream is cloying and too sweet. If I could, I'd even remove the star.

01/03/2026: What can I say, exorbitant prices and terrible quality. The only edible thing was the calamarelle with pecorino cheese. Spaghetti with clams was tasteless and full of flour, never happened before (I love Gaeta and its restaurants). Mixed fried fish and fried anchovies were inedible, SPONGY, terrible. The dishes seemed to have no flavor, it was like eating a slice of bread. In fact, that's a compliment. On a positive note, PERHAPS the Trebbiano, even if it tastes more like Prosecco (but passable). I hope at least the products are fresh because honestly, I can't express any opinion on that subject as I didn't taste anything. Having said that, 5 people, 5 first courses (2 calamari, 2 spaghetti with clams, 1 tagliatella with ragu, 2 mixed fried foods + fried anchovies, seafood starter and one meat starter + battered auk and vegetable frittatas. A whopping 215.00 euros. Absolutely out of market compared to the competition but the problem really isn't the cost but the quality, 90% of what was ordered was truly inedible and immediately went back to the kitchen. A terrible experience, not to mention the fumes from the kitchen that literally INVADE you with no way out. I'm really sorry but it's to be avoided at all costs.

04/05/2026: We spent the weekend at this beach resort and had the opportunity to enjoy its full range of services. The beach, immaculately clean and equipped with every comfort (changing rooms, king-size loungers, not to mention reserved parking for guests), is a wonderful place to relax. The staff is extremely friendly, from the welcome staff to the valet, to the knowledgeable and attentive waiters. The restaurant menu is truly refined and of high quality. Their catch of the day is truly excellent, and we had the opportunity to try the red snapper accompanied by olives and capers, delicate and wonderfully cooked. For the first course, we tried the saffron and seafood chicche, a dish we found truly captivating. We followed the dining room staff's recommendations for wine, and we also noticed the quality of the wine list. We tried the locally made ice cream with strawberries, and we can vouch for its deliciousness. I highly recommend spending at least a weekend at this beach for relaxation, good food, and the view of this wonderful sea. 🌊☀️⛵️

03/05/2026: The spaghetti with clams was the worst I've ever eaten: incredibly salty, barely tasted like clams, and the clams had no shells (we suspected they were frozen). The mezzepccheri should have been cooked at least 5 minutes longer; they were almost raw. All this was accompanied by passive-aggressive behavior from the annoyed staff because we only wanted to order one pasta dish each. Do you really have to stuff yourself at a restaurant?! If guests want to consume more, you can set a minimum spending limit and that's it.

19/04/2026: From the moment you walk in the door, you feel truly welcomed, not with a textbook plastic smile, but with the genuine care you see less and less often. The service is attentive without being intrusive, fast but never rushed. You can tell that the people who work here love what they do. And the food... the food speaks for itself. Every dish has a story to tell: carefully selected ingredients, flavors that make sense, presentation meticulous without being overbearing. Nothing forced, everything about substance. Mare Fritto isn't just a restaurant. It's one of those rare places you return to not just to eat well, but simply because you feel good.

23/03/2026: The service was top-notch. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and the chef himself. We ordered Scoglio and Fritto misto. The portions are quite large. Everything was delicious. The ingredients were fresh. We'd love to come back again. Visited March 2026
