17/03/2026: I went to lunch with my wife to spend a different day. Non-existent service: you basically clear the table, but we knew that. Plastic plates and cutlery, or at most cardboard. Portions are average and potentially tasty. Price: for what you eat and how you eat it, way above average, but, damn it: you're surrounded by hills that produce some of the best EVOO in the world, and you use lousy, stale, and runny oil, and even more so, raw on an octopus carpaccio... And then there are the cherry tomatoes you use for the mussel soup and the sauce for the spaghetti with mussels... even soggy. Oh, and last but not least, the mussels: I've been going to the bathroom with diarrhea at least seven times a day for the past four days... You deserve a complaint, but I like your idea and I won't. But if you remove this post, it will be my duty to do so. Yours, on the other hand, is to use raw materials, at least suitable ones. Anyway... lower the prices, 52.50 euros is really a lot for 1 symbolic plate of octopus carpaccio, a mussel soup and 2 pasta dishes with fish of the day (always and only mussels).

15/03/2026: A great meeting place for those like me who love seafood, especially fresh seafood. This is Comeilmare. You'll find the daily menu at the entrance, order your dishes, pay, and wait for them to call you to pick up your tray. You can also enjoy table service for a small extra charge. But, in my opinion, it's quicker to pick up your own tray. The first courses alone make it difficult to choose; they're all worth trying. The second courses, too. In short, if you're passing through, don't miss a quick stop at this excellent "ristopesce."

07/04/2026: We had a fantastic meal there. We ordered the fried seafood and the pasta with pistachio pesto. We also had several appetizers. We highly recommend it. The service was amazing, too. They even gave us a bowl of water for our dog. We also highly recommend the ice cream parlor across the street.

09/01/2026: I'd like to give 10 stars, but I can't. First of all, I'm very hard to please. However, I ate very well at this restaurant. I had octopus and potatoes and a truly exceptional stuffed pasta with scallops. My daughter also ordered a stuffed pasta with polenta and Montasio cheese with calamari sauce. Both entrees were delicious. It was recommended to me, and I was truly amazed by the quality and presentation. The price was reasonable, and you're truly happy to spend it. Highly recommended.

08/10/2025: The experience here is indescribable. Reginella is a true lady. The place is clean and they make delicious burgers, and the prices are fair for what you get. If you have the chance, you must try the tielle. Eating next to the lady on a chair in the alley was priceless.

07/03/2026: Tremendous old school cooking in a place that looks like it hasn't changed in decades. We were recommended to come here by the boss of La Salute which was closed for renovation. Terrific antipasti selection. Worth a visit.

25/02/2026: A historic restaurant in Gaeta, every time you go on a trip, you eat at Masaniello. The fish is incredibly fresh, the service is impeccable, and the prices are affordable.

12/01/2026: Finally, a restaurant like it used to be. We visited this restaurant last December and found a welcoming atmosphere, tasty but not heavy food, and finally decent portions. We were traveling with a small child and received a lot of understanding. The homemade desserts were truly delicious. If I ever return to Gaeta, I'll definitely return.

30/12/2025: I visited this pub as a couple and had a truly pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available, making us feel immediately at ease. The quality of the meat is excellent, well-cooked, and flavorful; you can sense the attention to detail in selecting the ingredients. The place is beautiful, well-kept, and very welcoming, perfect for a quiet evening or just to spend time with friends. Definitely a place to return to.

23/11/2025: Terrible November 2025 A beautiful and well-maintained place, except that the service was so terrible that we left, warning them that this isn't the way to behave, and without having eaten anything. At 12:45, a friend and I sat down because from the outside it looked like an inspiring place. Upon entering, we found a table (practically served) and a table that had already ordered, and then it was just us. Within a few minutes, we took our order, which consisted of two plates of bruschetta (three bruschettas per plate) and two glasses of white wine. Around 1:00, the wine arrived, and so far so good, but then time began to pass and we began to have some doubts. At 1:40, we decided that if another five minutes had passed without seeing the bruschetta, we would have left. Meanwhile, in those 40 minutes (40 minutes for six bruschettas), two more tables were seated and ordered. At 1:45 PM, after an hour, the bruschetta was brought to the table, unfortunately not ours, where the gentlemen had sat down practically fifteen minutes earlier. Maybe they didn't like the fact that we only wanted an aperitif, or I don't know, but it's truly unreasonable to wait about 50 minutes for six bruschetta that we've practically never seen. I can understand if there had been a lot of people, full tables, and so many orders, but it really wasn't the case, so we stood up, thanked them, told them that they shouldn't do that, and left. Never again.

11/04/2026: The only bar in Gaeta that closes late, it also serves as a tobacconist, making it very convenient. The desserts are sometimes not the freshest and are overpriced compared to other bars and pastry shops in Gaeta. Its central location is undoubtedly a strong point. Overall, a good place.

05/04/2026: N.c.s. We're not there. The bathrooms are filthy. The ice cream is cloying and too sweet. If I could, I'd even remove the star.

30/03/2026: We went for lunch yesterday. The restaurant is very small, with two small rooms (one inside and one outside), each with just a few tables. The menu offers limited options, but the staff was quite friendly and quick with the dishes. There were four of us, and we ordered two appetizers (octopus tiella and anchovy meatballs), three first courses, and three second courses. The meatballs were basically made of bread, while the octopus tiella was crunchy, but unfortunately the flavor was predominantly olive. As for the first courses, the pasta with tomato sauce was good and generous in quantity, but perhaps a little al dente, while the prawn and lemon linguine had no prawn flavor, only lemon and chili pepper (not listed on the menu). The ravioli, on the other hand, were good but undercooked. As for the second courses, we ordered the fried prawns and calamari, which didn't meet our expectations as it wasn't crunchy enough, while the cod was good. I recommend expanding the menu, as when we requested an appetizer with zeppole and bruschetta we were told that it was not possible, and to set more reasonable prices!!!

26/03/2026: We came for the Gaeta festival, 20 students and one teacher, each more satisfied than the next. The food was plentiful and high-quality... truly satisfied. Plus, the staff was friendly.

16/03/2026: Highly recommended restaurant! The dishes are plentiful and well-prepared. The service is fast and efficient, with no long waits. Furthermore, the waiters are very kind, helpful, and always attentive to the customers' needs. Excellent value for money, too. I'll gladly return. Keep up the good work!

The establishment is bright, clean, and well-organized, with attentive and friendly staff who contribute to a pleasant atmosphere from the moment you enter. The coffee is excellent, served with precision and flavor, and the selection of pastries and snacks is fresh and inviting. It's a convenient and reliable destination, perfect for relaxing, chatting, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in the heart of the city.

01/03/2026: What can I say, exorbitant prices and terrible quality. The only edible thing was the calamarelle with pecorino cheese. Spaghetti with clams was tasteless and full of flour, never happened before (I love Gaeta and its restaurants). Mixed fried fish and fried anchovies were inedible, SPONGY, terrible. The dishes seemed to have no flavor, it was like eating a slice of bread. In fact, that's a compliment. On a positive note, PERHAPS the Trebbiano, even if it tastes more like Prosecco (but passable). I hope at least the products are fresh because honestly, I can't express any opinion on that subject as I didn't taste anything. Having said that, 5 people, 5 first courses (2 calamari, 2 spaghetti with clams, 1 tagliatella with ragu, 2 mixed fried foods + fried anchovies, seafood starter and one meat starter + battered auk and vegetable frittatas. A whopping 215.00 euros. Absolutely out of market compared to the competition but the problem really isn't the cost but the quality, 90% of what was ordered was truly inedible and immediately went back to the kitchen. A terrible experience, not to mention the fumes from the kitchen that literally INVADE you with no way out. I'm really sorry but it's to be avoided at all costs.

27/02/2026: Scandalous! €8 for a plate of “seasonal vegetables” consisting of a few slices of grilled eggplant, some iceberg lettuce, and three cherry tomatoes cut in half… As for the main dish, it looked like a school cafeteria meal from when I was a kid. The tielles were extremely greasy and very expensive for the quantity. Skip this place — it may look nice, but don’t stop there. It’s literally cafeteria food; they’re taking us for fools. In the end, the restaurant’s name is fitting — but not when it comes to the prices. It’s very expensive for both the quantity and quality!

03/01/2026: The entrance doesn't do justice to this restaurant's atmosphere, cuisine, and impeccable service. The difference was definitely made by the attentive service, which revisited the menu to accommodate my vegetarian requests, and offered a local wine and a truly delicious olive oil. If you're wandering the alleys of Gaeta, I recommend seeking out this gem!
