16/07/2026: Since my parents bought a house in Alvito, every time we come for work, we stop at Osteria Pane e Vino. It's become a must. The food isn't just good here: it truly feels at home. It's like being invited to lunch by an aunt or family member. For my birthday, we had a large table on the terrace, and every dish came in large portions to share, just as tradition dictates. The gnocchi with meat sauce, the bucatini all'amatriciana, the tripe alla romana, the chicken in beer sauce, and the meatballs in tomato sauce were all exceptional. Authentic flavors, homemade cooking, quality ingredients, and a generosity that is increasingly rare these days. The owner may seem a bit stern at first glance, but once you get to know her, you understand how kind and thoughtful she is, and how much heart she puts into her work and into making every customer feel welcome. An authentic place, where you always return with pleasure. Highly recommended!

12/07/2026: A truly unique experience: I confirm the owner's NON-hospitality, who, in a hasty and very rude manner, warned us that it would take quite a long time to be served (we showed up at the scheduled time). To my question: "Does it always take so long to wait for cold cuts and bread?" the lady's response (always rude) was: "I only have one person in the kitchen, eh!!!"... Bottom line: the poor organization of the restaurant's kitchen is caused by the customers. We obviously left. That's the way it goes!

17/02/2026: I spent the month of November 2025 at this wonderful little Hotel and Restaurant while on a work assignment in the area. It was one of the most comfortable accommodations I have ever experienced in any hotel. To keep that statement in perspective, let me just state that I travel for work six to eight months of the year. The staff and service was wonderful and made me feel very much at home, even overlooking and gently correcting cultural faux pas on my part. This villa is off the beaten path, yet the gourmet restaurant on the main floor is full most evenings due to the fact that the food is exquisite and the food service is quick and efficient. Their wine is quite good, too, being of a local variety, and I purchased a bottle to take home. Every member of staff is very helpful and personable, and they treated me like family during my longish stay. I would very much like to return someday, and I can very much recommend this hotel in its uncrowded, rural setting away from the crowds of Rome for people who are touring Italy. There is easy access just off the Autostrada, and plenty of parking.

29/07/2026: Authentic, genuine cuisine with a genuine flavor! I was truly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the dishes, which recall the flavors of yesteryear without too many frills. Special mention goes to the portions, which are decidedly generous and generous: you certainly won't leave here hungry! The friendly service and excellent value complete a positive experience. Highly recommended!

19/07/2026: I ordered a pizza, but it arrived wrong. I asked for a beer, but I had to get up and go get it. The bathroom was out of soap and paper towels. And if only I'd seen the open door to the kitchen beforehand, I never would have sat down.

04/08/2026: I'll start with the name of the restaurant, whose name is unclear, given that it's right in the center of town and across from a railroad track, and the fact that it certainly doesn't offer any food that could be traced back to such a noble activity. Poor-quality food: the lasagna is made with a puff pastry that tastes decidedly better than those purchased at a discount store. Two appetizers of cheese, vegetables, and cured meats, from which, at our specific request, the latter were removed, were served in paltry portions that not a single person would have been satisfied. Thirty minutes for a mini portion of vegetables and cheeses and a full hour and twenty minutes for the first courses—including the fateful lasagna, which the owner herself said she had prepared that morning; almost all of it was left on the plate without anyone, waiter or owner, asking why, but clearly charged in full to the bill. I'll avoid commenting on the house red wine so as not to be too harsh. What else can I say? If you happen to be in the area, wisely avoid this pseudo "restaurant".

26/07/2026: There can be no imperfection in what is truly one of the most visionary and brilliant chefs in Italy. Colline Ciociare is a cuisine that is both authentic and evolved. A gastronomic experience that is hard to replicate. A family-run business that completes the emotional journey of every single dish created and served in a timeless setting. To be tried at least once in a lifetime. Hats off to Maestro Tassa.
