12/05/2025: Family dinner party with twenty people in the middle of the week, family environment with the possibility of eating both inside and outside like we did, on the terrace overlooking the sport fishing lake. Despite the heat of Rome, the place was cool and dry. We had a great time from the service to the quality of the food. Excellent appetizers with focaccia, that evening the pizza service was also active, much appreciated by the kids. Tasty and plentiful first courses, try the half-sleeves in the long version!!!! Superlative grilled meat, of excellent quality and origin such as kebabs from Abruzzo. Assortment of desserts for all tastes. Abundant and close parking. Extreme courtesy of the owner and service staff. We will definitely be back. Update: birthday party with 30 people, I confirm everything as above with the flaw of a little slowness between one course and another.......

01/06/2025: The place is in a very fortunate position, with a view of the lake and very close to its shores. Clean bathrooms, very understanding staff from a human point of view, they let me use their bathrooms because I was feeling ill, even though the place had just closed and the aforementioned bathrooms had just been polished. I really appreciated seeing the staff wear masks even while they were polishing the glasses at the end of the service. Ps. The lake waters are cool even in summer, don't swim after eating.

12/05/2025: I was a guest at a birthday party, I appreciated the use of unconventional products on the dishes which gave rise to absolutely new flavors at least for me. The owners were very kind and friendly.

11/05/2025: We returned to this restaurant after more than a year, attracted by the wonderful experience we had in the past. Spoiler: nothing is the same anymore. The initial welcome from the director was kind, and we were allowed to taste a very high quality trombolotto, leaving us hopeful. Unfortunately, from the first minutes we were offered a complete starter (2 bruschettas, polenta with anchovies and artichokes) without even having consulted the menu or known the prices, which made us uncomfortable. The way in which it was suggested what to order, in an almost automatic and repetitive way even with other customers, gave us the impression that they simply wanted us to spend as much as possible. The dishes offered were disappointing: 1) 2 bruschettas (untoasted bread with tomato) for 6 euros!!! 2) 2 small pieces of polenta with anchovies for 8 euros!!! 3) a small plate of artichokes for 10 euros!!! All of rather low quality, in our opinion. We then ordered 2 second courses (chicken and rabbit with sour cherries and herbs): the flavor was very similar to an industrial pesto, and the aromatic herbs described in the menu seemed absent. One of the two plates was left almost whole. When picking it up, we also heard unprofessional comments coming from the kitchen. The bill was 70 euros. We didn't order wine, just water. When it was time to pay, we were asked if everything was OK. To avoid arguments, I preferred to answer yes even though I was very disappointed. I write this review with regret, but I think it is correct to share an experience that does not reflect the spirit and quality of a village like Sermoneta. I hope that management can improve, especially in terms of transparency and attention to quality.

20/04/2025: I have been frequenting this restaurant since it was managed by the "founder" Angelo Piroli, a competent and professional pioneer of catering as well as very friendly. Today his son Luca continues to manage in the same vein as his father, maintaining the quality/price ratio at very appreciable levels. I recommend Il Vecchio Mulino to all those who love to eat well in a quiet and welcoming environment.

12/05/2025: Esperienza purtroppo molto negativa. Sono venuto in questo locale attirato dalle recensioni, ma la carbonara che ho ordinato è stata deludente: gusto mediocre, ingredienti sembravano poco freschi e la cottura era discutibile. Il peggio, però, è arrivato dopo: io e altre persone del mio stesso tavolo abbiamo avuto seri problemi di stomaco. Non so se sia stata una questione di igiene o qualità degli ingredienti, ma è stata un'esperienza che non ripeterò. Sconsiglio vivamente.

30/03/2025: We went to the restaurant in January and had a great time, but today something was wrong: the cream brioche is no longer the same... I had to leave it there... The rest of the brunch (salmon pancakes, bread and jam) were good.

28/01/2025: It is a wine bar and restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere and great service. I personally loved the starters; The rest of the dishes were breaded and fried and I don't tolerate it well. The desserts are not bad.

28/05/2025: Far from the tourist traps, we find ourselves in the heart of Italian family cuisine. The dishes are exquisite, special mention goes to the spaghetti carbonara, it's the best in Rome that I've had the chance to taste. The staff is lovely and welcoming. You feel right at home. I recommend it.

13/04/2025: Sono una garanzia, nove persone a festeggiare il compleanno di mia madre, tutte e nove rimaste pienamente soddisfatte, sazie e felici. Fritti impeccabili e senza un filo d'olio, bistecche da paura, pizze romane vere, fini e gustose, carciofi alla giudia di un'altro pianeta. Conto onestissimo, a Roma ti avrebbero spennato vivo con quelle portate e magari poi non sarebbero state nemmeno così buone. Servizio dai tempi perfetti, camerieri gentili e pazienti, la proprietaria è sempre un grande capo sala e non gli sfugge niente, molto disponibili anche nel portare la torta con le candeline e tagliarla. Tutti concordi alla fine nel dire esperienza eccezionale e da rifare.

17/02/2025: There is not once that I am dissatisfied I have to say a place where you eat really well with a varied menu and you can find both fish and meat especially grilled meat the various types of cuts compare types of blender and different side dishes, the place is large to furnished the staff is friendly, the place offers a large car park outside which is located right in front of the church of Aranova. I recommend it

03/06/2025: Tornati a distanza di qualche mese, è andata ... abbastanza bene, qualche riserva sugli antipasti. Locale pulitissimo e ben illuminato come sempre, qualche tavolo di troppo all'interno. Per antipasto quattro alici "mbuttunate" (senza infamia e senza lode) ed una pizzella fritta con burrata ed alici (come sopra). A seguire due spaghetti alle vongole, cotti e mantecati bene, buoni. Una bottiglia di Vermentino bello fresco, un'acqua e due amari. Totale, con un piccolo sconto : € 65. Nell'insieme, da uno a dieci : sette. Le potenzialità del locale e dello staff potrebbero far puntare più in alto. Comunque lo consiglio.

19/05/2025: Ho avuto modo di conoscerlo in occasione della prima comunione di mia nipote e siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti. Ci hanno servito come dolce una mimosa che ho apprezzato molto e data la sua delicatezza, l'ho giudicata la piu buona mangiata finora. Questo giudizio e' stato espresso dal sottoscritto che ha lavorato 40 anni nella ristorazione.
