30/11/2024: We returned after a year to repeat a memorable experience. The period was the same, we expected an encore. Something must have changed because even if the kindness of the staff and the warmth of the environment are the same, the dishes were definitely not up to the memories. Tagliolini (more mini fettuccine actually) with white truffle, served in a tavern portion, tasteless, poorly seasoned and obviously with a hint of truffle that disappeared compared to the quantity of pasta. A risotto with beetroot, blue cheese and black truffle with a flat taste (I can understand the misfortune of a poorly scented black truffle, but blue cheese?), a turbot with thorns included, the rest wasn't much better. To finish, a coffee that made you long for Nespresso pods. Excellent wine and bill - as we knew - salty. We just thought we were leaving saying “it was worth it”. And so another place to cross off the list of our favourites. Sin….

03/01/2025: Very nice place and decorated in a particular way for the Christmas and New Year holidays. Very friendly and efficient staff. In conclusion it was an excellent food and wine experience.

18/12/2024: Se vi capita di venire a Calcata non potete non provare questo ristorante!!!! È veramente eccezionale dal buon cibo alle ragazze che ci lavorano! Loro sono il cuore pulsante di quel piccolo angolo di paradiso. Si respira aria di casa ogni volta che si varca quella porta. Per chi volesse fermarsi qualche giorno in più hanno anche delle camere veramente belle e super accoglienti! Sicuramente non mancherà occasione per rivederci!

03/09/2024: During our holiday near Minturno we visited one or two restaurants, including the Osteria “alle Scalette” Short and sweet: A wonderful location, great ambience, delicious food and friendly service is what awaits you at the Osteria. It's worth knowing that you should definitely make a reservation, especially if you want to sit at one of the few tables outside. I give it 5***** and have already recommended the Osteria to other travelers ☺️

29/08/2024: Location with a country chic style, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, then the waitress arrived and dampened all my enthusiasm, I had the feeling that she was in a hurry, she continued to go back and forth even though there were few people, with a look annoyed but!!!😪unlike the other waiter with glasses who was so polite and kind!! The dishes were good, the beef tartare was passable, the carbonara was a little too tasty, the tiramisu was excellent!!! Prices a little high!!!

01/01/2025: Siamo stati a Gaeta per le Luci di Natale e abbiamo scelto Ciccillo per il pranzo del giorno del mio compleanno in base alle ottime recensioni e devo dire che abbiamo fatto centro! Il posto è molto bello, suggestivo in quanto ricavato da un ambiente medievale che poggia su un’antica cisterna romana. Personale gentilissimo , il gestore assai simpatico e disponibile a mostrare e far conoscere la storia del luogo. Menù e carta dei vini molto curati. Quando hanno saputo che era il mio compleanno mi hanno anche fatto una sorpresa con una millefoglie con una candelina! Abbiamo mangiato l’ antipasto “ a km zero” che va bene per due persone e le polpettine di alici . Come primi le chicche ( quelle del pescatore e quelle del contadino) . Mio marito ha preso anche la provola di Agerola alla brace con verdure grigliate . Come dolci io la millefoglie, delicata e leggerissima e mio marito il tiramisù . Tutto più che buono, ben presentato, giusto nella quantità . Ottimo il rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Bisognerà tornarci in estate quando si trasferiscono all’aperto in una attigua chiesa sconsacrata.

16/10/2024: Io e il mio fidanzato abbiamo deciso di sposarci a Gaeta, questo ristornate da un po' di anni è uno dei nostri posti del cuore, buona cucina e gentilezza dei proprietari in uno degli scorci più belli di Gaeta antica. Abbiamo deciso di trascorre la sera prima del matrimonio in questo posto, Lucia super disponibile, ci ha organizzato un apericena nel chiostro esterno con buffet e tavoli apparecchiati, i nostri amici sono rimasti estasiati dalla bellezza del posto. Se vi trovate in centro storico a Gaeta vi consiglio di far visita in questo posto, bellissimo sia nell'esterno che nell'interno, personale gentilissimo e buona cucina.

22/10/2024: Fixed menu, coinciding with the truffle festival. What an opportunity with tourists.......! Dear, indeed very dear. €40 each and with 1/2 liter of house wine which is best avoided. Nothing special about the place, the food is normal, the black truffle is on average cheap, the restaurant is not. Ask before sitting down!... enjoy the chicken with truffles🤗

29/03/2024: Super vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ze doen heel goed hun best om je in het Engels te woord te staan. Zeer uitgebreide menukaart met bovendien nog dagelijks suggesties. De vis ligt dagvers in de koelbox klaar. Omdat het zo lekker was, keerde ik meermaals terug en genoot van tonijn met asperges, biefstuk en pizza. En telkens opnieuw scoorden ze bij mij zeer goed. Een echte aanrader. En altijd parking voor de deur.

03/09/2024: I love it... when I come to Laigueglia it is now my safe haven. Well-kept, clean, large common areas. Workstations not crowded. Clean bathrooms and showers. Top restaurant Here you can truly enjoy a relaxing day (not at all a given on Ligurian beaches). Perfect for children.

13/01/2025: Upon the publication of the article in the Messaggero which praised the Emma restaurant-pizzeria, we were intrigued and decided to try it, showing up punctually for the opening at 7pm. The experience was, unfortunately, disastrous in every respect. For a quick taste we ordered: a supplì, two courgette flowers, battered vegetables, sautéed broccoli, a white pizza with mushrooms, a marinara pizza, a beer and a Coca-Cola, for a total of 62 euros. The disappointment was immediate and total. The suppli? Embarrassing: it looked like it was cooked twice, very dark in color, fell apart in the hand and had no flavour. Salt? Absent. The courgette flowers, then, were an insult to Roman tradition: overloaded with poor quality mozzarella, not fresh but industrial, wrapped in an exaggerated batter. Not crunchy, but spongy and soggy, like that of cheap frozen products. The same terrible batter was found in the battered vegetables, where the vegetables were practically non-existent: just a microscopic thread hidden under an excess of spongy mass. The sautéed broccoli? They were not sautéed well, devoid of seasoning, flavor and character, a sad dish devoid of any care. Let's move on to the pizzas: if the dough is good, the dimensions were significantly smaller than average, with prices that were decidedly higher. As for the seasoning, it was a disaster. The pizza marinara was a caricature: an exaggerated bed of tomato spread in a disproportionate quantity, completely wrong for a marinara that should be balanced between garlic, tomato and oregano. Here, however, the result was tasteless and you could only taste the tomato that was in excess: we nicknamed it "the tomato sauce". Even the white pizza with mushrooms did not shine, loaded with mozzarella loaves with a little water that the mushrooms release when cooking is not done well. The price? Totally unjustified compared to the quality of the dishes, which seem to be prepared by people far from Italian taste and flavours. Emma presents itself as a top-class venue, but experience shows the exact opposite: a lot of smoke and mirrors, little substance. A dinner that has nothing to do with the quality one would expect from such a vaunted venue. A place to avoid, which we will certainly not return to.

29/12/2024: The place is beautiful but the service really disappointed us. At the entrance we were greeted coldly and, at the table, we waited over 15 minutes without anyone coming to take the order, while other tables that arrived after us were served immediately. Although I understand that mistakes can happen, the staff had multiple opportunities to correct them, but instead ignored the situation until I expressed my discomfort. The annoyed response and a lukewarm "I'm sorry" at the end were not enough to make me feel like a welcome guest. A real shame for a place that seemed to have so much potential.

27/12/2024: Pasamos una tarde por allí a tomar un café. Lo tomamos junto a la barra, en mesas altas. Me pareció un sitio agradable en un enclave maravilloso. Me gustó.
