26/09/2025: According to Google Maps, the restaurant is open, but it is closed.

25/09/2025: I had to wait 30 minutes to get a sandwich and a beer, even though it was off-peak time (12:50) and there was no one in line. But then again, it was the Rome derby, and it was more important to follow the match on my tablet. Furthermore, the burly guy at the kiosk is incredibly ignorant. He wanted me to eat standing up even though there were empty seats at the counter ("They're for people having coffee, otherwise how am I supposed to do it") and empty tables ("And what if someone makes a reservation?"). In the end, he took pity on me and let me eat my sandwich on a rusty iron table. Hygiene is also poor, as the place where they prepare the sandwiches is full of flies and midges, which isn't a good sign. If you value yourself and your self-esteem, avoid this place. When I write negative reviews, I do so for one sole purpose: if you're good and capable, you should thrive; if you're not, you should quit and change careers, given the overwhelming competition. Unfortunately, most people don't think like me. Update: I appreciate your polite response. I'll try again next year.

16/09/2025: I'm a regular at Bender and would personally recommend it to anyone, but unfortunately, I recently had perhaps the worst experience of my life as a consumer. I was at Bender with some friends, and for various reasons, we ended up with seven people instead of the planned five. Without thinking it was a problem, we proceeded to add seats at the head of the table, when a waitress (who would be with us for the rest of the evening) immediately told us to stop. We then asked if another table could be added and got no response. We asked several times until they simply said no, claiming we'd be blocking the street, even though, even without a table, we still occupied the same space with chairs. In any case, I don't think I'd recommend the place again due to the poor treatment we were given by this waitress, who then bumped into me several times while I was standing and continued to act as if nothing had happened throughout the evening. Beautiful place, excellent drinks, excellent food, and a great atmosphere, but being treated so poorly as consumers (when you're paying for a service) is truly out of place.

16/09/2025: An exceptional trattoria with a homey feel. We had lunch outside, under a beautiful archway of plants. Typical, homemade dishes were presented orally by the waiter, with no paper menus, just like in the old days. The quality of the food is exceptional, and the respect for the ingredients (also excellent) and tradition shines through. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the quality/price ratio is excellent. We'll definitely be back. I recommend the handmade ravioli.

The owners, having a daughter with celiac disease, pay great attention to cross-contamination: everything is prepared separately and safely, from pizzas to main courses. The quality of the products is exceptional – honestly, you can't tell the difference from gluten at all! Reservations are recommended, and especially if you're gluten-free: they almost always have everything available for one or two people, but for larger groups, they prefer to organize themselves to ensure maximum safety. A place you'll gladly return to, not only for the gluten-free approach, but for the authentic atmosphere and authentic flavor! Thank you ❤️

03/07/2025: Abbiamo scoperto questo locale su consiglio di amici. Premesso che dopo il caldo di Roma il fatto che si riuscisse a respirare era sufficiente a dare una super valutazione, ma il ristorante merita molto di più. Innanzitutto é presente anche il menu per chi é intollerante al lattosio o per chi é celiaco, mettono delle graziose bandierine per distinguere le portate senza lattosio o per celiaci al fine di evitare che una volta a tavola si possa far confusione. Siamo stati serviti da Valentino, unico nella sua professionalità ed estremamente gentile e disponibile, ha ispirato a tutti una immediata simpatia, qualità molto rare, abbiamo preso dei deliziosi supplì della casa, consigliati sempre da Valentino e da provare assolutamente, la pizza, anche qui provate quella della casa (pizza vecchia locanda) , e poi i dolci, fatti da loro! Una creme brûlé al pistacchio con pezzettini di cioccolato fondente, mitica, idem il tiramisù, se a tutto questo si aggiunge assenza di rumori della città e prezzi onestissimi, sicuramente torneremo per provare le altre pietanze !

27/06/2025: Ho contattato il ristorante tramite Just Eat ed ho pagato due volte quanto ordinato. Ho contattato il ristorante per il rimborso ed il proprietario è stato molto gentile e disponibile; onesto al punto da dire "non voglio sapere nemmeno cosa è successo, le renderò la cifra spesa". Quanto ordinato era molto buono quindi oltre alla massima disponibilità ed onestà, ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Assolutamente consigliato!

07/10/2025: I went to this place as a family affair. Unfortunately, I ordered a seafood appetizer that was clearly pre-taken from the wholesale can and not even rinsed properly. It was just a small plate with a lemon wedge and a sprig of parsley thrown to the side. It tasted awful and was rubbery. The first course was spaghetti alla chitarra with clams, which they claimed were homemade but were clearly vacuum-packed and industrially produced. Nothing special, except that the lupini beans were fresh. The house wine was undrinkable!! Desserts... nothing special, but passable. There were two of us. We paid seventy euros for a portion of salad, two first courses, two desserts, and a half bottle of wine. €70!!

17/09/2025: Terrible...they ruined my son's 18th birthday cake. It was supposed to have a beautifully decorated shell-shaped symbol of the Nobile Contrada del Nicchio (Siena Palio) to which my son belongs, but the wafer soaked up all the blue cream...I had expressed my doubts that the wafer wouldn't hold up, but Alessia reassured me. €170 wasted and a guaranteed embarrassment.

27/07/2025: A family-run trattoria serving homemade food that's simply delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, and the prices are excellent. The fettuccine with ragù is simply spectacular! Definitely worth a try!

21/09/2025: We were here during the 2025 Bread Festival. The portions were tiny and the prices were high. We ordered an appetizer for four, and it was probably for two or two and a half people at most. We spent €12 for three bread baskets. I'm disappointed because the service was courteous throughout the entire dinner. But I have to say the price is like a tourist trap. We had four appetizers, three first courses, a second course, five side dishes, and a dessert. Half a liter of house wine for €163 seems really excessive.

18/08/2025: A very unique atmosphere with stunning paintings. The food is excellent, like in the old days. The staff is very kind and welcoming. I highly recommend it.
