27/08/2025: At Dar Maghetto, you'll have a unique experience not just about food but about what we all call the vanished Rome of trattorias. Trattorias are about sharing, with their strengths and weaknesses. If you're a Roman, he might seem rude and grumpy, but he's only Roman! Behind those words and those gestures (which you have to learn to understand) lies a life of sacrifice and kindness. Even at almost eighty, you can't forget that's er MAGHETTO! You come in, you sit down, you make a joke, and you repeat it, sure he won't take offense (but you shouldn't be offended, otherwise it's worthless). You order drinks and chat, you order food and chat (with everyone, including foreigners; oh God, I even have a problem with talking to everyone). Then he comes to eat and you eat well, as tradition dictates in a trattoria with no frills but substance. Then er Maghetto arrives and asks, "Can you taste it for me to see if it's good?" A plate of tripe, obviously, it's Friday and Saturday in Rome, tripe is traditionally served. This is to make you understand that the food on the plate is also part of the experience, and the Maghetto experience is a 10 all-inclusive.

05/11/2025: Honestly, I hadn't been there in years, and I was a little disappointed with the rooms. The parquet flooring was loose, and the sockets in the bed didn't work properly. For €100 a night, a little more attention to room maintenance would be needed, especially since the property is very beautiful and has an excellent view of Rome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I repeat, a little more attention to room maintenance would be worthy of a 4-star rating.

02/11/2025: We stayed in a double room. The room was clean and quiet despite facing the street. The view is wonderful and the location very romantic. The breakfast was excellent, plentiful and varied. As a native of Puglia, I appreciated the excellent mozzarella. I would gladly return, a wonderful experience.

16/10/2025: Conosco il posto da quando ha aperto. Inizialmente ci andavo quasi tutti i giorni,ma con il tempo ho notate tantissime cose che nn andavano e nn ho piu' consumato da loro. Ci sono tornata pochissimo tempo fa ed e' cambiato solo l'arredamento la qualita' dei prodotti sono rimasti invariati.La pizza bianca ed il pane buoni appena sfornati, ma gia' dopo qualche ora le caratteristiche organolettiche svaniscono e la consistenza dei prodotti sembra gommosa. I prezzi sempre troppo alti. Il reparto dolci abbastanza fornito. Il locale e' molto carino. Ogni tanto ci torno x nn offendere coloro che mi invitano, ma il servizio a tavola e' tra i peggiori che mi sia mai capitato. Il personale mi rincresce dirlo, la professionalita' nn sa neppure cos'e'. Il proprietario puo'verificare che mi riferisco alla mattina del 28c.m. dal momento che le osservazioni al disservizio sono state effettuate da piu' persone e fatte notare prontamente ai suoi collaboratori.

11/11/2025: I celebrated my 70th birthday with my family at La Perla restaurant on Lake Albano. I couldn't have made a better choice; everything was perfect, starting with the welcome, the excellent quality of the food, and the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. All in a comfortable setting that makes you feel at home. And what can I say about the location? It's unique, with its sweeping views of the mountains and Lake Albano. A special thanks to Marco and the entire staff. We'll definitely be back.

Fabrizio sells very special wines and fine spirits, providing detailed information, a testament to his passion for his work. He and Michela manage the bar and a few tables where you can enjoy delicious first and second courses for lunch. 🔝 You are special.

08/08/2025: It was a point of reference for me and my family for decades. But unfortunately I returned after about a year and found the setup to be tourist-eating. The food was truly subpar. The outdoor location had been transformed into a tourist trap. I gave it 3 stars because of the memory and the location in the square. But please, go back to how you were before.

15/11/2025: Stopped in after our long long flight for a relaxing drink! Nice location and the wait staff were so wonderful! Bathrooms were clean too lol

20/10/2025: We went for breakfast several days a week; the service was excellent, and the cakes and pastries are handmade and made by them. Excellent cornetos with pistachio cream, almond pastries, canolo, or the tiramisu, all 10/10.

15/10/2025: If you want to treat yourself in Rome, the pictures speak for themselves, and so does the value for money.

02/11/2025: I'm sorry to have to leave a negative review. I have to say this first, because it's a nice place where you feel comfortable, and the staff is truly very kind. The sandwiches used to be very good and unique, but now they're just not there. The burger was overcooked, the chicken breast tough and soaked in oil, and the bread was mediocre. Please, review the food; it's really a shame.

27/09/2025: A simple, private, comfortable place where you can eat inside the building. It's frequented by working people ☺️☺️ so it's pleasant, clean, and quiet. It felt like I was in a courtyard... I liked it.

09/07/2025: Ideal for those traveling for work: quiet location, convenient parking, and quick check-in. The rooms are simple and a bit dated, but suitable for an unpretentious overnight stay. I dined in the on-site restaurant and was pleased: limited selection, but well-cooked dishes and prompt service. Overall, a functional hotel, suitable for short business stays.

25/10/2025: Last night we accidentally discovered this (hidden) pizzeria. They serve exceptional fried food! Fantastic, shallow Roman pizzas, cooked to perfection, and we discovered they also offer gluten-free options! Excellent! We'll definitely be back!
