09/03/2026: A historic landmark in Fregene, it attracts high-class patrons—footballers and actors are regulars—and finding a table without a reservation is difficult, even on Saturdays. The service sometimes suffers, but the quality of the food is excellent! The bruschetta with clams and cockles is fantastic. The risotto is exquisite, along with the freshest oysters and octopus. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the fish.

22/02/2026: Four of us went to lunch today, and after returning home, three of us had stomach aches, suffering from severe diarrhea. By eliminating the foods we consumed, we hypothesized that the cause might have been the water in the carafe, which was probably not perfectly pure. Performing service. Excessive bill.

23/02/2026: Frankly, the negative reviews for this nostalgic gem of an all-Italian tradition, which is gradually becoming less and less enduring, are incomprehensible. The interior decor and structure are stuck in place for decades, it's true, but the place's charm likely also stems from this. The well-maintained outdoor space, with a (new) structure that allows you to enjoy lunch al fresco even on a sunny day, is well-maintained. The atmosphere is wonderful, with silence broken only by the quacking of ducks and the lake no more than two meters from the table. The cuisine is also traditional, but traditional because it's good, not stale. The lake fish dishes are excellent.

25/12/2025: Maria welcomed us with her partner Simone on the evening of December 22, 2025. Christmas dinner is a quiet time in the area, and we were the only guests. We were pampered by Simone, who explained the entire menu to us and enlivened the evening by chatting with us without ever being intrusive. Above all, we were struck by the delicacy and attention he showed in accommodating and serving the pregnant woman at the table. The food is fantastic: truly sublime crostoni with whitefish, abundant and tasty linguine with whitefish, and delicate and balanced nettle gnocchi. The grilled whitefish was a must-have for the main course. We had such a great time that we returned on the 24th: Simone was busy at his other restaurant, but Maria more than worthyly filled in for him, remembering to treat the pregnant customer in a special way without us having to remind her. A historic restaurant run by genuine people, as well as skilled restaurateurs, with life stories worth listening to and treasured. A heartfelt thank you to Maria and Simone from our family. 19/10/2025: Fast delivery, so you can enjoy the pizza as if it were fresh out of the oven. I recommend ordering by calling (the menu is easily found online). I recommend the light fried foods, which are truly excellent.

14/10/2025: Always a good spot. Easy to find on-site parking, and there's also a bar and restaurant. It's a free, well-equipped beach.

11/03/2026: Terrible welcome and very rude owner. We booked at 9:15 PM but arrived ten minutes later at 9:25 PM because parking in the area is very difficult and you have to park very far away. Then, at the entrance, they told us it was closed because it was too late. They said the reservation was for 9 PM and not 9:15 PM, so they wouldn't let us have dinner. I told them the reservation was for 9:15 PM and they said I was wrong. Very rude and unprofessional behavior because at 9:25 PM, they left us without a table and without dinner. I strongly advise against it. I will also report this very rude behavior to The Fork. Among other things, he also stated that my reservation wasn't honored because he said we didn't show up at the restaurant. I explained what happened to The Fork's call center and sent photos, and they realized he behaved terribly.

10/03/2026: Typical restaurant serving only Roman cuisine. Everything is excellent and carefully prepared. The atmosphere is well-maintained. The price is reasonable.

29/07/2025: Wonderful visit to Ristorante Cecilia Metella! Family friendly, family run, and homemade family quality. We highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant if you’re in the area, or walk across from the Catacombs di San Sebastien. Cross the road, head to right and up the driveway. The staff were super friendly and fun. I felt like my grandpa was serving us, with his grandpa humour. Couldn’t stop laughing at his grandpa jokes. The food was amazing. I feel like this was my most authentic Italian pasta and cuisine during our stay at Rome. We ate outside on the their terrace. There were lots of tables and couod get quite busy. However, our visit was just right in terms of noise from other tables. No need to shout, but still enjoyed the energy of the restaurant with families and friends enjoying lunch out on a Sunday.

23/07/2025: Amazing lunch experience under the vines. Meals and wine were superb, service was first class and atmosphere was next level fabulous. Really enjoyed. Highly recommend.

16/03/2026: Truly disappointing, the arrosticini were nothing special, the staff slow, the menu sparse, the pizzas and desserts inedible.

20/03/2026: A quaint restaurant. I recommend making a reservation because they'll assign you a number when you arrive. Then you have to check the menu on the blackboard to see what's available, because once the items listed on the blackboard are sold out, you can't order anymore.

08/03/2026: Informal, family-run restaurant offering daily express specials. The menu is displayed on the blackboard, and each order is deducted based on the number of servings available. The food and service are excellent. The restaurant also offers a sea view. I'll be back. Good value.

11/11/2025: Compared to a few months ago (I think the management and name have changed), there have been many improvements. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is well-kept. I'm not giving it a 5 only because they don't make "simple" sandwiches (a classic ham and mozzarella, for example). Only tramezzini. Overall, a nice place.
