28/12/2024: We have just spent a few days at Ca’Matilde during the Christmas period whilst visiting family in the region. Our stay was made exceptional by Marcella, who as usual welcomed us with the best hospitality one could wish for. The food at the restaurant is delicious and interesting and showcases the regional food and vegetables from their garden, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is just the best way to start the morning. We will definitely be coming back!

24/12/2024: Apparently nice place but: cold and gloomy room, unpleasant smells in the room coming from the bathrooms located near our table (blind bathrooms and not sufficiently ventilated).
Let's move on to food instead.
The fried dumpling was very greasy and probably fried with already used oil.
Of the tortelli with herbs you could only taste the ricotta and that's it, besides they weren't served with parmesan and even when we requested it it wasn't brought to us.
As for the meat, very tough and not at all tasty.
Let's leave aside its side dish: three (counted) slices of very thinly sliced potatoes.
The dessert, a tiramisu, tasted like a biscuit with whipped cream and was completely tasteless.
Ferrous coffee.
Conclusion.. spend €80/90 PER PERSON to eat like this.. You do it. For the way it tastes, it's not worth the expense.
12/11/2024: My partner and I went here for dinner. The context inside the castle is truly wonderful as is the venue itself. The food was great and the service was friendly and pleasant. We tried the mixed cured meats with the fried gnocco. The cured meats were excellent and the fried gnocco well. As a second course we tried the fillet and the Milanese, both cooked well and very tender. as a wine they recommended a spergola from a local winery, an excellent discovery

13/01/2025: Very beautiful location, disappointing the limited courses and prices too high... even the exaggerated cover charge but I say you are going crazy for two pieces of bread 🤦♀️we will end up no longer going out to eat because all things considered with the money we spent in we would have done a lot of shopping for home in this place... or look for places where you can eat for the right amount. We will never go back again

15/12/2024: Piacevole scoperta ,siamo stati con amici a cena ,luogo un po' nascosto , nel silenzio delle colline .ambiente curato e caldo.Buone le portate ,il pane genuino ,ampia scelta della cantina Gentilissimo e attento il cameriere un ragazzo giovane molto educato.Avvuamo scoperto che in estate si può consumare in terrazza dove la vista deve essere molto bella ,certamente torneremo .unica pecca forse l attesa ,ma era sabato e ci sta .consiglio questo posto .

03/01/2025: I have had the opportunity to eat in many pizzerias in Reggio Emilia, but this one is truly TOP, without comparison. Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. The quality-price ratio is excellent: the pizzas are perfect in every detail.
One aspect that particularly struck me, compared to other pizzerias, is the consistency of the pizza. In many pizzerias, the pizza turns out too thin, with the edges becoming too crunchy, but here everything is different. The cornices are also delicious, soft and well balanced.
Ultimately, it is truly an excellent pizzeria. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a well-made pizza. Super recommended!

24/10/2024: Sono stato a pranzo in questo locale, tutto speciale ma in particolar modo il brasato di lingua occasionalmente trovato, era superlativo. Sapori di altri tempi legati alla tradizione Reggiana. Tornerò sicuramente!!
17/10/2024: Sono anni che frequento questa trattoria ma purtroppo dopo vari intoppi mi trovo costretta a scrivere una recensione.....antipasto della casa freddo (la polenta fritta non dico di farla al momento però almeno una scaldatina l'avrei data) e poi una fetta di salame dello spessore di un'ostia ......era trasparente.........non dico di volerne 3 a testa ci mancherebbe ma se in una trattoria dell'appennino devi darmi una fettina più sottile del salame milano dammi piuttosto una fetta di Mortadella... che peccato ...Tortelli buoni.........prezzo 35 a testa con antipasto 2 primi un secondo e un contorno ....
