18/06/2025: To be honest this review isn't for the establishment's offerings, didn't get to try anything here. Here's what happened though, watched a guy chase a pregnant lady (showing quite a bit), thought local family drama but soon guy started attacking and kicking the lady. Lady was aghast pointing out at her pregnant status which had no effects on the guy. Then realized that guy was actually a local since wearing some cinque Terre t-shirt, later saw all Gianni Franzi staff were wearing the same t-shirts. Moreover the same guy resumed his duties at the establishment, business as usual. Very disappointed to see no one else from the area dared to talk sense into him or the place that employs him (may be family?). Any kicking a visibly pregnant lady unable to defend herself should be beyond anyone no matter what the situation or is that too much to expect?

13/06/2025: Excellent dinner, kind welcome, pleasant stay and breakfast with sea view: thanks to Ristorante Hotel Gianni Franzi in Vernazza! I will definitely come back!

31/10/2024: First of all, the waiter didn't speak English at all! We asked him questions about food, he just shrugged his shoulders and literally said “I don’t know.” Secondly, this is the first place in Florence with such a poor level of food and products. I ordered a caprese salad, in which they put some tasteless weathered cheese instead of classic mozzarella. The tomatoes were tasteless, the pasta with truffle was without truffle! Very bad! Don't go here!

20/10/2024: Hands down, the best ricotta and spinach ravioli I've ever tasted. Absolutely amazing food. Would highly recommend and prices are very reasonable. Must cost when in Florence!

04/06/2025: Convenient because it is located near the train station. Good quality of food. Two-story environment. Recommended for those passing through.

02/01/2025: The spaces are very beautiful... Ancient glories from the 70s/80s/90s Well-kept environment but currently little frequented as a disco... minimal investment... a mini DJ station... Lights and effects...used as strictly necessary...super minimal bar...it is VERY clear that it is extremely tiring to maintain such a large environment.... Disco in January... freezing.. Poorly maintained restaurant...minimal portions...shame...the white vintage chairs need to be repainted....Bathrooms need to be changed...embarrassing. A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN BREATHE HISTORY. THE STRUCTURE IS BEAUTIFUL... large. That's all.

05/05/2025: Della vecchia osteria che accoglieva gli ospiti con piatti genuini e ben cucinati, rigorosamente del territorio, semplici ma gustosi, non è rimasto nulla. Le signore al servizio, volonterose ma ormai rallentate dai problemi dell'età, rendono quasi penosa l'attesa dei piatti ordinati. La torta fritta, fredda e dura è accompagnata da affettati di bassa qualità mentre i tortelli alle erbette ed i cannelloni sono appena commestibili. Il vino della casa, sia bianco che rosso, è assolutamente da evitare. Spesi euro 35 (sic!).

08/04/2025: I've known this place since I was little, it seems like time has stopped here! We ate very well as always, unbeatable culatello and fried gnocco! Not to mention the fried eel and homemade cappelletti. I hope to return soon, a pleasant detour returning to Rome from a business trip.

08/04/2025: La Signora Adele è una persona squisita, ama il proprio cliente e ha reso un pranzo improvvisato un'esperienza indimenticabile. Porterò la Signora Adele come miglior ricordo di una vacanza in una città totalmente dimenticabile... se non fosse per l'ottimo Gianpino!!!

08/09/2024: Probabilmente il locale ha avuto un passato glorioso, ma attualmente non gira. Purtroppo devo segnalare la peggior torta fritta che io abbia mai mangiato. Speravo nei pisarelli, non erano male ma proprio nulla di che. Avrei dato due sfere, ma il servizio di una giovane e frizzante figlia del proprietario aumenta di una sfera.

19/08/2024: We went there because other restaurants were closed. You are greeted by two 'for sale' signs which do not promise anything good. In fact, the first impression is disconcerting: white plastic chairs illuminated by the cold neon light. A scooter parked among the tables and the cars of the (very few) customers close to the veranda with the consequence that, upon the arrival of some unfortunate person, the headlights of the cars illuminate the tables with a provincial Star Wars effect. The pizzas are worse than the frozen ones, dry dough on the edge and raw in the center and a shapeless mixture of tomato and mozzarella as topping. I try to drink to forget but the glass of my average tastes terribly like dish detergent. We ran away, without having received any change (not much but I like to decide whether to leave a tip...).
