24/04/2025: I'm very sorry to give this review, I've been coming here for years for aperitifs with friends but I won't set foot here again, today I bought a pack of cigarettes from them and I wanted to pay by card, the elderly lady at the checkout told me that I would have to buy two to be able to pay by card, I pointed out (in a very polite manner) that this wouldn't be exactly legal but that I would still have bought two, she treated me very badly claiming that understanding these things requires intelligence, I was really mortified and left, I don't think so this is the right way to treat customers. I'm really sorry because it's a nice place and the food is good, but obviously it's not enough.

15/08/2025: Service 0/10 The staff was no longer friendly, but rather pushy. Too much. Cutlery was on the wrong side, it was on the left. When taking our order, the waiter was sitting almost on the next table, or rather, leaning completely on the table. The pizza was cold when it was served. One person at our table had finished eating. The plate was removed and passed by the waitress to the other person (who was still eating). That's not how you do that. Unprofessional. We were served by four different waiters in total, even though we were almost alone there. It caused confusion. Which is why we were asked several times by different waiters after dessert and coffee. One waiter was loudly lectured in front of the guests about all the things he had done wrong. You don't have to do that in front of the guests. The music in the restaurant was much too loud; you could barely understand a word.

07/08/2025: As soon as we sat down they brought a GF menu, has a separate kitchen, the pasta was amazing, and great service. Would make a detour just to cone here.

18/05/2025: Tutto molto buono, pizza di alta qualità, grigliata ottima, e anche le piade buonissime. Il servizio è puntuale e il personale preparato e gentilissimo. Il posto poi perfetto per relax e per i bambini.

28/07/2025: Ristorante Trattoria di pesce davvero notevole, qualità della materia prima e prezzo onesto. Grande scelta dalla cantina, diversi vini per tutte le tasche. Selezione di ostriche eccellenti, da migliorare il plateau di crudo, buono ma non all’altezza del resto della cena. Dolci ottimi e grande gentilezza. Se ricapiteremo a Ravenna torneremo sicuramente. Un posto che ha lasciato il segno e che rappresenta esattamente quanto ci si aspetta da un posto del genere. Bravi, complimenti!

22/07/2025: Che dire ... se non eccezionale!! Abbiamo appena finito la nostra cena e tutto quanto ciò che abbiamo mangiato (e anche bevuto) è stato di qualità sublime. Tutto fresco e servito con la massima cura. Anche il pane fatto da loro ... buonissimo!! Cortesia e accoglienza ottime. Questa è la mia prima valutazione di un ristorante e sono contento di aver iniziato con il Portolano di Ravenna! Andrea da Roma

30/07/2025: I've been going there for years. The pizza is so good that I always order it, so this review isn't for the entire menu. However, the pizza is a normal size (not a flying disc so huge it doesn't fit on the plate, and so thin that it crumbles everywhere), and it's nice and plump without being heavy. The cheesecake is also excellent. The place is beautiful because it's rustic.

The chef's ability to combine multiple things in the same dish, creating new taste harmonies without becoming heavy is remarkable. The location is very beautiful, close to the beach and partly on it. 31/08/2025: Patience, that's what it takes to eat at Novella: it takes patience to get there, patience to wait (dishes are made to order and not ready-made), and patience to reserve (you need to call ahead). But it's worth it. The location isn't convenient, but you can enjoy a breathtaking view and a pleasant temperature on hot days. The menu is (apparently) sparse; it's best to wait for directions from those who come to take your order, and then you discover a list of pasta dishes served with either Bolognese ragù or with mushrooms or truffles, depending on the season, and then grilled meats: from beef to pork, including the typical mutton. Perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The meat and homemade pasta are the highlights. The side dishes are also excellent, with friggione and potatoes being super. The platter is also interesting. The portions are generous.

24/08/2025: In the summer, an outdoor table offers a fantastic view and allows you to savor all the dishes, from starters to main courses. I highly recommend consulting the menu, otherwise, if you order by word of mouth, you might be surprised by the bill.
