04/05/2026: We visited this restaurant last night and, unfortunately, I can only give it a completely negative review. The service was terrible from the start, with inattentive staff. However, the worst aspect was the quality of the food: the appetizers they call "house" were almost inedible and even seemed to have been prepared a long time ago. There were no potatoes of any kind, and then, as if by magic, they brought us a meager portion that looked like it was left over from some other table. Those who ordered the cutlet were served a small piece of chicken breast that had been fried badly or with old oil. The final confirmation of the poor quality came a few hours after dinner: everyone at the table complained of severe stomach aches and gastrointestinal problems during the night. It's unacceptable for a night out to end with such health problems. I strongly advise against this restaurant to anyone looking for a safe meal and professional service.

03/06/2026: L'Arcata dei Mazzeni: a dream location and excellent cuisine, but the pantry management needs some work. We stopped at the L'Arcata dei Mazzeni Cocktail Bar and Restaurant, drawn by its charming waterfront location, nestled beneath the iconic arches of the Gatte marina in Santa Maria di Castellabate. The welcome was top-notch: the owners are very courteous, and the grandmother is truly charming, a touch of warmth that's always welcome. Being primarily a seafood restaurant, however, this is a bit of a disappointment. The sore point of the evening was the almost complete lack of seafood: there were no clams, only one portion of mussels was left, and the seafood appetizers were already sold out. Having to make do, we ordered a Cilento appetizer with traditional cured meats and cheeses, which turned out to be truly excellent. For the first courses, we had to settle for a scialatiello with mussels and a "scoglio" (or rather, "half-rocky"—the only seafood served was shrimp and mussels). We also tried the cod with olives and cherry tomatoes, which was truly delicious. It must be said that the dishes available were well-cooked, and the fresh pasta was a real treat. It's true that our visit was on a Monday evening (June 3rd), but if a seafood menu lacks key ingredients, perhaps it would be more appropriate to turn down the shutters for a day. This place has enormous potential; the food is worthy, and the setting is magical, but the pantry management definitely needs improvement.

28/04/2026: I stayed in this splendid place for the weekend of April 25th. Wonderful. My family and I stayed there, along with other friends, savoring the taste of authenticity in the cuisine of simply exquisite goodness... excellent from dinner to breakfast to lunch... super abundant. The rooms were impeccably clean, the sheets and towels were very white and fragrant. A wonderful thank you goes as always to Mrs. Giovanna who, as always, welcomes us with her elegance and makes us feel like VIPs.

04/01/2026: Poor service! We visited this place on a Sunday evening with some friends, unsure whether to order an aperitif or a slice of pizza from the set menu. When ordering, those who wanted a slice of pizza got up and ordered themselves. After paying, we were told, "Your drinks are upstairs," and we, obviously torn between aperitif and dinner, were shocked. They wouldn't let us sit together: those who need to eat go upstairs, and those who want an aperitif stay downstairs. I should point out that there's no sign explaining this, so we ate, but those who wanted an aperitif were left empty-handed! Terrible service!!!! Many things could be improved, especially communication.

07/09/2025: Delicious pastry shop! The girl behind the counter with the blue eyes was really kind, I would have loved to chat with her. I came to the pastry shop a couple of times just to see her, haha, between last night and this morning, but there are always lots of people getting their pastries. Highly recommended!

05/06/2026: Fixed menu with excellent value. Fast service and friendly, polite staff. I gave the atmosphere a 3 because it has a large play area for children, but it's very neglected. And when the piano bar is on, the volume is too loud; we had to go outside to talk.

01/05/2026: Simply a fantastic experience! La Taverna di Giulio is one of those places that wins you over from the first moment: a warm, welcoming, and authentic atmosphere. The staff was impeccable, always smiling, attentive, and helpful. We felt truly pampered throughout the meal. The food was exceptional: dishes rich in flavor, prepared with the freshest ingredients and great care. Every course was delicious, but special praise goes to all the appetizer courses—they're a must-try! The value for money is also excellent, more than fair for what's on offer. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back very soon 👌
