27/10/2025: A great view, polite staff, excellent service

06/10/2025: I went as a couple. The aperitif was very watered down, the non-alcoholic drink was definitely overpriced at €8, and there was a tiny bowl of peanuts on the side, and nothing else. When my partner asked for at least a small bowl of chips, the waitress informed us that each additional bowl over the four peanuts served would cost €1. Perplexed, we asked for the bowl, which was offered to us, but it was two more peanuts. The only redeeming feature was the view.

09/10/2025: What an amazing dinner! This place is a gastronomic treat! The food, presentation is creative and delicious and the perfectly paired wines added to our memorable experience! We stayed at this iconic hotel and ate at this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and the staff from Stefano, Emmanuele and Enrico (sommelier) were top notch. Every dish from this tasting menu was superb. In addition the creative presentation and wonderful city and bay of naples view is worth coming here. Very romantic restaurant. Highly recommend!

26/09/2025: I would like to point out that we are used to going to starred restaurants on a weekly basis. We chose the more traditional "From 2018" menu: a complete mess, devoid of any vision or thought behind the dishes (as was the interior design, dated and devoid of any concept). A thousand ingredients combined haphazardly in dishes ranging from lemon rice with shrimp (where the citrus acidity takes over) to thick spaghetti with tomato sauce, to turbot cooked in butter with mushrooms: a decidedly unlikely pairing, where creativity is barely justified. Even the lamb. The dessert (pastiera soufflé with aran-lemon sorbet) was the most successful dish of the dinner.

28/10/2025: Very nice atmosphere, I had both the meat and the pizza, everything was very good. Even on Saturday nights it's a nice place to be.

12/10/2025: A beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained restaurant with quality food, an open-plan oven and kitchen, and truly attentive staff. Everything was delicious, I highly recommend it.

05/06/2025: The owner of the establishment provides unbeatable service. Friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. We're from Spain, spent a week in Naples, and have been to this establishment twice for breakfast. Both times, the entire experience was a 10!

03/08/2025: Pescato del giorno al centro di piatti innovativi ma comunque fortemente legati alla tradizione. Bellissime presentazioni e carta dei vini più che completa. Locale elegante ed accoglienza super da parte dei fratelli e proprietari Rico e Dina! Ampio parcheggio. Il tutto a due passi dal mare di Paestum... Tappa fissa da provare e riprovare!

25/05/2025: Attratti dalle positive recensioni, ci siamo recati in questo ristorante per un pranzo domenicale. Location ben arredata e curata, molto spaziosa. Nonostante l'impatto positivo, devo dire che il pranzo e' stato davvero deludente. Ci ha colpito in particolare il fatto che le cozze, servite nell'ambito della degustazione antipasti, avevano un brutto odore, molto forte; lo abbiamo prontamente comunicato e la proprietaria ci ha detto che per lei non era cosi' e che anzi le aveva da poco mangiate, ma che comunque avrebbe chiesto allo chef. Quando e' tornata dalla cucina, non ci ha detto assolutamente nulla e ha continuato come se niente fosse. Sinceramente non l'ho trovato professionale. Riguardo alle altre pietanze servite, quasi tutto il pesce di vario tipo che le componeva non aveva alcun sapore. Conto molto alto in relazione alla qualità dei piatti serviti.

02/10/2025: While we did not stay at Al Barilotto, Giovanni treated us like family. We were staying a villa next door to Al Barilotto when our car scheduled to take us to Pompeii for the morning never showed up. We went to grab some breakfast next door and were greeted like close family. We ate some of the most delicious food while soaking in one of the best views on the Amalfi coast. Giovanni saw to every detail and spent time speaking with us about his hotel, family and the surrounding area. He then proceeded to connect us with a car service that not only showed up but arranged a private tour of Pompeii with an excellent guide on our ride back to Naples prior to our departure.Giovanni's warmth and hospitality was unmatched. I already know where I will be staying on my next trip to Positano!!

20/08/2025: Superb pizzeria. Very pleasant and attentive welcome. We started with a starter (rosticceria) made with fresh, light, and very tasty ingredients. The waitress was attentive. Then the pizza! Unparalleled quality and more than reasonable prices. A breathtaking view of the island. I highly recommend it! Thank you to them for this evening!

06/09/2025: There were three of us. We ordered three pizzas and two portions of fries. The fries arrived after 10 minutes, but the pizzas took an hour and a quarter. Nothing special, the porchetta, provolone, and fries were a bit dry. The Margherita sauce was a bit undercooked. P.S., there weren't even any people there. We didn't even get a receipt, just a slip of paper.

13/11/2025: We've been customers of this pizzeria for years now. The major renovations have taken away a bit of its family feel. It's a shame.

09/11/2025: Recently renovated place. Very nice, clean and welcoming. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service. We went on a Saturday evening (reserved table) and didn't have a single wait. The pizzas were really good! Soft, light, easy to digest and made with quality ingredients. Antonio, the pizza chef, is truly a professional! Here you can choose the dough that's best for you! This is the secret and it's what makes the difference! Really well done! P.S. The parking is a plus.

27/09/2025: The place is really beautiful and well-kept, but unfortunately the pizzas were a huge disappointment: burnt and practically inedible. I definitely expected better from a place like this. Too bad.

16/11/2025: Nice place. Good morning, meat, plenty of choice. High-quality meats and preparation. The first courses are also excellent. The atmosphere is casual but welcoming, and the wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The only downside... Saturdays and weekends in general: biblical wait times. Definitely worth a visit and a quick return visit. Well done everyone!

16/11/2025: Let me start by saying that if you go to this place, I advise you not to sit (even if the staff tells you) near the entrance. Even though there are two mushroom stoves, every time the door opens you'll freeze, and hence, obviously, the boredom of having to choose between hot and cold. It's unacceptable for the waiter to say, "There are no menus available, you'll have to wait a bit," but print out 10 more menus, or better yet, use a QR code, right? Okay, the menus arrive, you place your order, and then, with two bottles of water and a basket of five slices of bread, the wait begins... a little over an hour. It's okay that it's Saturday night, it's okay that it's crowded... but I expect that regardless of the day of the week, the service could be faster. That said, we liked the quality of the food (except for the special meatballs, which were very tough). A bit of a challenge is that you can't just have a starter, but MUST share it with another diner. Unfortunately, some dishes are even similar! So, the selection is minimal and similar. Maybe we'll try it again IN THE DINING ROOM and ON WEEKDAYS...who knows.
