02/03/2025: A restaurant that I have known for a long time and I eat there often because the food is excellent, starting from the starter to the first courses and not to mention the meat which is meat at high levels and a very good pizza, with very friendly and good staff, a place that I recommend to everyone to try for whatever you want to eat, in short it is my favorite place. 12/03/2025: To spend a different Saturday evening, I wanted to introduce Letizia to a historic venue located in Villa San Giovanni, which was the scene of carefree evenings in my youth: La Sosta. This venue, by virtue of its short distance from the port (only 5 minutes on foot) allows customers coming from Sicily to leave the car in Messina and use the very frequent ferry connections to reach Villa San Giovanni comfortably and economically. Despite a mix-up with the reservation, we were allowed to drink a couple of beers by sitting at a temporary table, while waiting for the one assigned to us to become free. We started dinner with a mixed fry and croquettes filled with smoked mozzarella. Both Letizia and I continued with an amazing 'Smoked' sandwich: 200g Chianina hamburger, smoked scamorza, mushrooms, speck, home-made potatoes, BBQ sauce. We also ended on a high note, with a Nutella crepe and a Coppa Sosta, both very good. I drank two excellent Gordon Scotches, red Belgian beers on tap. Letizia tried two different blonde beers on tap: a Nastro Azzurro (classic Italian) and a Gordon Gold, a tasty, very alcoholic Belgian one. The courtesy of the staff, the quality of the food and drinks and the particularity of the furnishings, combined with the memories that tied me to La Sosta, gave us a wonderful evening. Highly recommended place, especially in the evenings with live music! Remarkable quality/price ratio.

24/03/2025: What a wonderful find. Our room was nice and clean, nothing special, entirely my fault as I misread the brochure. While we were there the place was full for a medical conference. We were the only people staying who weren't part of the conference. The view is spectacular. Walking through the orange orchards, the olive trees, and the apricot trees which were in bloom was wonderful. Food was excellent. Great breakfast buffet, and we ate in the restaurant every night as each day was a new menu. Service was excellent. Thanks to Franco and Alexandra for making our stay special. We were chatting with one of the conference attendees. Her question, how did you, coming from Canada, find this place. It's well worth a visit

27/10/2024: Very pleasant surprise! Too bad we found ourselves eating out the day before our departure. Quality and very generous service and food. We ate for 4 people (a starter for 2 and 2 pizzas, 2 pasta dishes and 3 desserts + 4 drinks) and we paid €78. Which is more than reasonable. I highly recommend. Thanks to the whole team.

05/03/2025: Coccolati da una preparata e gentilissima persona che spiega a dovere tutte le preparazioni, gustiamo una serie di antipasti, naturalmente a base di pesce, tutti gradevoli e ben preparati. Anche i secondi piatti ben presentati a base di pesce fresco. Conto appropriato al cibo e al servizio proposto.

10/01/2025: Siamo ritornati a Mammola dopo due anni, abbiamo trovato diversi cambiamenti, il ristorante si è spostato nella piazzetta in basso in un locale molto più luminoso e confortevole. Nella gestione pur se la stessa si è rilevata migliorata nelle proposta culinaria, sempre eccezionale lo stocco preparato in tanti modi, involtini con pistacchio e ventricelle buonissime, personale cortese, prezzi giusti.

16/12/2024: I spent ten wonderful days in the La Valle dell'Aspide refreshment bar. The experience was truly unforgettable. The walks in the surrounding woods were regenerating and allowed me to immerse myself in nature. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to meet new and interesting people, making the stay even more enjoyable.

Special thanks go to the owners, Teresa and Luciano, for their hospitality and kindness. They made my stay very special with their attention to detail and helpfulness. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday surrounded by nature. Oh I forgot, the wood stove is spectacular!!
