13/08/2025: A casual yet welcoming place, like the very kind waitress who looked after us. We had lunch with two very generous, tasty, and well-seasoned first courses. We didn't order anything else because we had to get back on the road, but the menu offers traditional dishes that looked very interesting. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere is enhanced by the menu designed by chef Gabriele Marino, which combines flavor with tradition and innovation. Sight, taste, and smell are awakened by the ingredients, which blend in an explosion of flavors worth letting yourself be transported by, creating a magnificent magic for the palate. An experience worth trying, paired with recommended wines that enhance everything. The service is also excellent and attentive. In short, if you find yourself in Matera, stop by the "Le Bubbole" restaurant and experience their dishes and the perfect view of the Sassi.

07/05/2025: Sehr schönes Restaurant im Natursteingewölbe. Freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Die Speisekarte ist klein , aber gediegen. Wir haben den Abend genossen.

26/04/2025: Ristrutturato con grande successo, il complesso di Aquatio é veramente bello ed accogliente…..tuttavia il servizio (vino versato macchiando tovaglia, impossibilità di cambiar tavolo, etc) ed i piatti non sono ancora all’altezza. Da migliorare! To be improved!

Excellent food, fairly quick service, and a really reasonable bill! €30 for two first courses, two second courses, and a quarter of wine. The only downside, perhaps, is that they don't have a menu, but they explain everything to you.

14/07/2025: A family welcome in Picerno We were welcomed like family. The owner, visibly moved as she told us about her sick dog, touched us deeply: a sincere moment that made us feel at home. The luganica, cured meats, and delicacies are excellent, prepared with passion and simplicity. The first course was delicious, authentic and made with care. For us, it's a top spot for family hospitality. A simple, authentic experience that will stay with us forever.

28/06/2025: I'm from the area but I didn't know the place; for a quick business lunch as usual I rely on Trip and so I did this time too. I'll start by saying that I have a minimum of knowledge, as I've been lucky enough to visit a few restaurants in Italy and abroad. The place can be reached through an alley, it's welcoming and well-kept. The staff, I think the owner, is kind. The menu is explained to us verbally, we aren't given a paper copy. Since it's a quick lunch during a work break, we don't give it much weight and order two appetizers, two first courses to share, water and 1/2 liter of house wine. Total expense with surprise ... 98 euros. Undoubtedly quality has its price, but the cost is decidedly disproportionate considering that: the place on trip is labeled with only one €; it's an osteria (without taking anything away from osterias); the cost/price ratio of the local product is decidedly high. Too bad!!!

16/08/2025: I called ahead to book a stay at the pool. Today, given the weather conditions and what happened yesterday, July 15, 2025, due to bad weather in Basilicata, my friends and I decided to cancel our reservation. When I called the facility, a gentleman answered. As soon as he learned we wouldn't be coming today, he was extremely rude and belittled what I had said, saying it wasn't true, that he believed it was sunny there right now and therefore it wouldn't rain this afternoon, and many other things... He was truly unprofessional. I wanted to point out that bringing your own food or drinks into this facility is strictly prohibited; you are forced to buy everything from there.

31/03/2025: HORRIBLE. Breakfast in the bar coffee...burnt at 7.00? Check the machine! Lactose-free cappuccino with milk strictly boiled in the pan where normal milk was made. Croissant served to me boiling hot so I had to take it away because at the first bite it was burning hot and was a raw/sticky mass, so I asked for a little bag and annoyed she handed it to me rudely. To pay? The cashier had to first chat with the back kitchen telling me it's urgent, I'm coming!? But is everything ok? Not at Materana. All this for €5
