29/07/2024: Greeted by Chef Allesandro & manager Melissa we knew we were about to enjoy an evening of Abruzze` culinary excellence & charm. And so we did. A warm humid night, the outdoor tables were set with a sunset view of the gardens. Our chief waiter asked for Chef’s assistance with our "anglaise" ordering. Our starter of "chef’s fancy" contained select arancini, perfectly breaded & fried codfish, mozzarella sticks, cheese & a puff potato,served on a board! Next for me, a specially prepared pappardelle of duck ragu. A rich sauce with freshlly made al dente pasta that enhanced the smoky essence of tender duck. A mushroom rissoto with truffles was earthy and paired well with the Sirio Montpulciano from master chef's San Lorenzo vineyard. Wished we could take this home. I wanted to try the local lamb and was rewarded with grilled rib chops a la Abruzze`. Uniquely different from the garlicy lemon lamb of Greece but tasty in its own right. Dessert of tiramissu, biscotti, panetta with a special regional liquor, SantElmo, to complete our tour. Chef A came out from his extremely busy kitchen to make sure everything was to our liking. And we had a quick chat on his training & aspirations. His personal touch of ambiance enhanced our dining experience and convinced us, he is the "real deal." Our successful waltz through Il Retrovo's Abruzze` traditional fare suggests readers should not miss this gem of a restaurant and its marvellous staff. We will surely return.. Btw plenty of parking. The Serne location is near to many Adriatic coast resors & hotels. Il Retrovo is also an event setting; formal, business or family! Check their elegant website.

23/07/2024: Locale a conduzione familiare dove si può mangiare solo antipasto di salumi e formaggi e i famosissimi arrosticini. Tutto buonissimo,sicuramente ci torneremo. Animali non ammessi

22/04/2024: Pranzo a base di pesce, esperienza negativa. Il pesce nn era fresco, la portata con cozze immangiabile, emanavano cattivi odore. Servizio lento. Al modico prezzo di € 55 a persona!

29/07/2024: Beautiful day...cozy place...top swimming pool...friendly and helpful staff! Cocktails by the pool...Ernesto the guy with a contagious smile...all done treated us very well. The restaurant is no exception... we ate very well and the place inside was very well looked after... honest prices!

27/07/2024: We had lunch here after a beautiful morning at the pool… the staff is very kind… especially Ernesto! A very nice guy... with a beautiful smile on his face! We ate very well, everything was really delicious and plentiful!!! We will be back soon and often!

19/08/2024: TOP hospitality... TOP professionalism of the dining room staff...everyone from the owner to the collaborators was very kind...it's a shame to have discovered it in the last two days...highly recommended, unmissable also for the exquisite and very fresh specialities.

13/08/2024: Apart from the kind and helpful waitresses, the food is truly of poor quality and very badly cooked. Frozen and very low quality fish unthinkable in a seaside place, pizza dough finished at 8.30, overcooked pasta, ridiculous portions and uncoordinated courses. Side dish arrived together at first...not recommended

19/07/2024: Più che una cena è stata un'esperienza di gusto. Tutto ottimo sia i piatti di carne che di pesce, qualità superiore, servizio curato ed attento. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale.

10/07/2024: Abbiamo preso un sugo pronto ed un secondo. Abbiamo trovato i prezzi cari e il personale maleducato, prodotti non freschissimi 1 pallino è anche troppo. Sconsigliato.

24/06/2024: Ci siamo recati più volte in questa fantastica pescheria! Che dire il materiale è di primissima qualità e pescato direttamente da loro il personale è gentilissimo e sempre pronto ad accoglierti e a spiegarti i prodotti locali e i prodotti che vengono anche cucinati al momento oppure sul menu! Abbiamo provato il sugo pronto di pesce veramente eccellente oltre all’aperitivo con fritto misto (morbidissimo e asciutto) oltre agli eccezionali spaghetti alle vongole, parmigiana di melanzana di pesce top! Va volare via!! 10 e lode! Complimenti!

06/08/2024: we were yesterday with 6 people.. 05/08/2024... very nice place, service (?) good dishes.. so far everything ok.. the negative note concerns the presentation of the menus... being also a pizzeria I would have I also waited for the pizza menu... since I and another person had to offer dinner we didn't say anything so as not to put the other diners in difficulty (we didn't want them to be forced to choose the pizza) and we didn't say anything when going over the first and second courses. fish... now: glaring oversight or studied strategy? others in our same room had pizza. a place that wants to define itself as classy MUST COMPULSORYLY bring the entire menu then it's up to me to decide whether to order king lobster and champagne or pizza margherita... it's not me who has to ask for the menu considering that there is a sign in large letters "PIZZERIA "... these are the details that create good or bad publicity.. maybe they have gained on us who paid 50/70 euros more? does anything they certainly haven't gained a customer

23/08/2024: I ate in this place, what can I say in particular, the very large toasts, it would be better with some slightly particular sauces, but in a good context

12/08/2024: Around 11pm, it's just us as customers, the (sports) toasts are excellent, accompanied by a nice beer and they're very good, the place is nice, the seats are relatively few, certainly during peak hours you can also eat a toast standing.... the service was fast, but we were the only customers....

29/08/2024: Sono andato perché consigliato da un amico. La pasta alla mugnaia come gli altri primi piatti sono da manuale; quello che mi ha stupito è il prezzo, 9 euro per un primo stellare. Gli chef da televisione chiederebbero almeno il quadruplo: morale si possono servire piatti eccezionali a un prezzo onesto. Complimenti vivissimi avete guadagnato quattro nuovi clienti.

28/08/2024: Avendo passato la settimana di ferragosto a Pescara, ci siamo recati, in due occasioni, per cenare in questo locale. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti sia per il cibo che per la gentilezza e professionalità del personale. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Peccato non aver avuto tempo per assaggiare le pizze che, alla vista, sembravano molto invitanti. Lo consiglio vivamente.

28/06/2024: Very very good!! The location and food were very satisfactory!! Clean establishment and attentive to the smallest details!! Well maintained facility with every type of comfort and vast choice of food!! We were with friends who don't particularly like fish but here they had to change their minds!! Excellent quality raw materials carefully prepared by the chef!! Dishes that are pleasant for both the palate and the sight...particular attention to their composition and experience ensure that food is also a very, very pleasant culinary experience!! All accompanied by a truly pleasant environment... you can eat almost on the beach and the view is remarkable!! All these things put together make this property truly offer a great experience!! Definitely a place where I would happily return 🙂

28/05/2024: Uneducated, unprofessional and untrained staff. Disappointing and poor quality food. I advise the owner to keep an eye on the quality of the product and his staff, instead of focusing only on the cash register. The only positive note: the coffee and the education of the barista.
