24/10/2025: A very warm welcome with a clear desire to share their cuisine. Squash flan and mini cabbage stew to start, then an assortment of meats and desserts, all very tasty, including a revisited Tiramisu to discover.

19/10/2025: Specializing in meat cooking, from arrosticini to premium cuts. I really liked the research that goes into every dish and ingredient, all selected according to a very specific criterion: customer satisfaction. Fillet arrosticini, usually hard to find in a restaurant, are available here. The Godot appetizer was thrilling, two courses that vary according to the seasonality of the products, but which are a sublime explosion of flavors. One of these was the pumpkin tart on a cheese fondue and balsamic reduction, with a crunchy note provided by the puffed Venere rice, a flavor explosion. The wine cellar was also interesting, well-stocked for interesting pairings with the dishes. The meat was also exceptional and cooked to perfection. A very positive experience.

04/01/2026: The place is lovely, the fish is fresh and well-cooked, the staff is very friendly, and the prices are fair. I'll be back if I ever pass through Ortona again, which is very likely, because it's a really beautiful town.

Even the vegetarian option for one of the guests was very satisfying. The staff was pleasant and efficient. They never disappointed!

The front desk lady is the most unapproachable person ever, and she was very rude to my family. Breakfast is this military-style system where you have to request what to eat 24 hours in advance. There were no people at this hotel. Probably for a reason. Don't go to this hotel and go to La Locanda. If I could give it a zero, I'd give it a zero. It was probably the worst hotel I've ever been to. The lady at the front desk was just someone you couldn't get close to, and she was rude even to my family. Breakfast is some kind of military system: you have to say you want to eat 24 hours in advance. Are you kidding? There was no one in that hotel. And now you understand why. Don't go there. Better go to La Locanda.

06/01/2026: A wonderful end to a fantastic weekend in Abruzzo! I've been wanting to take the regional train from Terni to L'Aquila and Sulmona for years, and I finally did. A fantastic start to the year, sealed with a final evening at this place. The pane burro e alici (bread, butter, and anchovies) were TOP with the Margarita! We'll be back, guys—that's not a promise, but a certainty! 😎

28/10/2025: It's a nice family fish restaurant. We are coming here for several years and it's always a pleasure to be here. Great fresh fish, especialy the pesce crudo, the best I ever had. Also great staff, very friendly and they know what they are doing! For sure we come back here!!

30/12/2025: We've dined at La Corniola twice, exactly one year apart, the last time a few days ago. We returned after a pleasant experience last year and with high expectations, justified especially considering the simple mention in the Michelin Guide and the elegant and refined atmosphere. It's also for this reason that I allow myself to be picky, something I don't usually reserve for restaurants where initial expectations are lacking; the premise was a given. There have been no significant changes to the basic menu over the past year, so we preferred to choose something we hadn't already tried the previous year. While last year we were impressed by both the appetizers and the first courses, as well as the lamb as a main course, this year only two out of four dishes, between appetizers and first courses, completely convinced us. As a second course, to round out the meal (coming from days of being a bit tired from our efforts at dining, we preferred to avoid structured main courses), we ordered a selection of cheeses that unfortunately fell short, especially considering the price tag—an issue we encountered throughout the menu, but which isn't a particular problem for me. The wine list is appreciably extensive, and while we had no trouble navigating it, the service team could probably offer a little help for those less experienced. The service is young and eager, but a bit hesitant, and could use more training, especially to match the environment, which requires it. On the other hand, the more experienced staff maintains a formal demeanor that is commendable, but could be mistaken for excessive coldness. These last considerations had already come to light the previous year, but they didn't stop us from returning in the hope of finding that extra something, still missing, both in the kitchen and in the dining room, and that makes the difference between a Michelin mention and a first star. This is by no means utopian, considering the very respectable premises, the elegant setting, and a cuisine that understands and respects the raw materials, especially local ones, but which should dare more.
