07/12/2025: Fresh fish. Very good. Super generous portions. More than fair price for the quality and quantity. Simple cuisine. Worth a try. Kitsch location.

08/11/2025: Very good food, sufficient portions... but in the menu chosen we were already fine with the 10 courses of appetizers, the first courses, the fried and the grilled ones, we only tasted it and then took it home.

23/10/2025: Last night I went to La Casa Rossa restaurant with some friends and was very satisfied. I tried the fried cheese, the bruschetta with sausage, the baked potatoes, and the inevitable Abruzzo arrosticini. Everything was truly delicious, with well-balanced flavors, although the last batch of arrosticini was rather salty, but mistakes can happen. For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which, however, didn't thrill me; it's definitely a dish that could be improved. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The prices are average, consistent with the simplicity of the dishes and the rustic nature of the place. I didn't stay at the hotel.

16/09/2025: We had a great lunch, the cod was cooked in a super way from the appetizers to the first and second courses, the owner and also the chef was very good and very kind, we also drank good excellent wine, if we return to Abruzzo we will definitely stop by again, super quality price

12/11/2025: A large, lively restaurant with several dining rooms, a spacious terrace, and a children's play area. Despite the crowds that evening, we were seated and served quickly. A wide selection of dishes is offered, from classic to regional specialties, all delicious and well-prepared. Definitely worth trying.

28/09/2025: The room was beautiful, equipped with every comfort, very comfortable mattress I would like to have it at my home, everything good, clean and with attention to detail, the only flaw was the check in at 5pm but it was not a problem, we highly recommend it!

17/08/2025: This establishment is located just after the Martinsicuro campsite. We stayed for a day on August 15th. The owners are kind and attentive. Excellent service and food options include cold dishes served at the counter or restaurant.

10/11/2025: A very quaint restaurant in the heart of Roccascalegna. Each dish is carefully crafted with meticulous attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients. The pasta is made with ancient, local grains. Before eating, since the restaurant is very small, we were given a comprehensive explanation of the menu and the origins of the ingredients. The portions are just right and reasonable for the price. Since the restaurant and kitchen are small, it can be a bit confusing and the wait is a bit long, but the food is definitely worth it! Reservations are essential, especially during the tourist season.

08/10/2025: Lovely place. The staff, entirely made up of women, is top-notch. But the ravioli with porcini mushrooms is incredible!!!! Everything delicious. The lady from Crecchio has remained in my heart... We'll be back to visit you (ps: we are the florists from Rome who used to work at the abbey). Highly recommended.

30/11/2025: A unique experience. The place is warm and welcoming, so refined and with historic decorations that instill trust and a sense of home. The owner and staff are truly professional, yet very human and friendly. It's truly beautiful. The quality of the food is exceptional. The first courses are generous and plentiful, and the products, such as wine and oil, are made by local wineries and mills, or wherever the product geographically excels. The meat is tenderness itself: fresh and expertly cooked. The side dishes and desserts are excellent. In short, what can I say? Everything is perfect. Absolutely recommended!

11/11/2025: Fantastic family run Resturant. 5 people for lunch amist family after family of locals. Service was on point 2 bottles of water and one red one white. The wines were outstanding then to realise they were €7.50 a bottle is amazing . Arostacini was off the lunch menu but great belly pork, lamb and mixed grill were awesome after spectacular starters. 2 hours spent in great company enjoying a leisurley meal that to a "man" was described as a triumph

20/09/2025: We had pizza and found it to be good quality, with generous and very tasty toppings. The focaccia with slices of Colonnata lard and ventricina meat was also very good. My only complaint was that the pizzas were a little burned on the bottom. The place is good, however, and they also do mixed roasts and grilled Angus beef.

18/10/2025: I can't comment on the rooms, but the restaurant offers excellent cuisine in a beautiful location. The appetizers were excellent, as was the first course, ravioli with walnut cream, and the mixed roast of local meats. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Thanks to Marco and Annalisa.

01/09/2025: This charming little house nestled in the countryside, with an attached parking area, is located a few kilometers from Monticchio, which is strategically located near the city of L'Aquila, the Stiffe Caves, and the historic villages of the municipality of L'Aquila, but also not far from Santo Stefano di Sessanio or Rocca Calascio. Rooms are located on the ground or first floor, with a security door, safes in some rooms, photocell-controlled outdoor lights, a small TV, spacious and fairly clean rooms, and modern bathrooms. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast includes homemade pastries, delicious tarts and chocolate cakes, savory dishes, seasonal fruit, and homemade yogurt. The variety isn't exceptional, but it's adequate for the property. The apartment owners' restaurant and pizzeria serve delicious, well-leavened and highly digestible pizzas, made with top-quality ingredients.

07/11/2025: A monument built on the ruins of a large Roman villa, inhabited until late antiquity, which between the 6th and 7th centuries became a castrum for the Byzantines who had retained control of the nearby port of Aternum (Pescara), a key landing place and intermediate port between the Exarchate capital of Ravenna and Constantinople. They evidently built the first nucleus of the historic Torre Alex (named after Alessandro Valignano, one of the lords of the Valignano di Cepagatti family in the 17th century). The tower was consolidated in the Lombard era as a control point for a strategic road junction at the crossroads of the S.S. Picena Aprutina and the routes leading up to Forca di Penne and the Aquilano area. From the 11th and 12th centuries, it became the seat of the lords of the Norman, Swabian, and Angevin fiefdom of Cepagatti, before passing to the Valignano family in the 15th century and finally to the current owners. The first archaeological investigations by the Superintendency date back to the 1970s, and continued between 1998 and 2011 in Piazza San Rocco, bringing to light important Roman-era artefacts preserved in the City Council Chamber. The restoration of the Castle has returned to the public the so-called "Sala delle Cisterne," a rare and authentic Roman-era cistern measuring 22 meters long and 4 meters wide, as well as the 340-square-meter "Sala del Grano," located on the top floor of the monument, with a panoramic view of the Pescara Valley. The restoration of the Marcantonio Castle, begun in 2008, represents a "place in history," and the over 2,000 square meters spread over four levels offer the possibility of hosting particularly evocative events. Unfortunately, it is now in decline due to problems with the owners and is closed. What a shame... It is closed and abandoned. We hope the municipality of Cepagatti buys it back.
