17/07/2026: July 2026. We dined three nights at this beautiful restaurant in Milano Marittima. Fabulous is an understatement. I no longer believe the negative reviews. Exceptional food, excellent and plentiful grilled and fried fish, fabulous pizzas, impeccable service, and incredibly kind staff. They pampered us and made us feel like guests, not customers. It's a shame the holidays are over. If we return to Mi Ma, it will be the only place we'll come to eat. Thanks guys.

24/05/2026: Poor time management and exorbitant prices. We arrived at 1:00 PM and only managed to leave at 3:30 PM due to a decidedly excessive wait. The service was very disorganized: we had to ask for bread several times, and often it didn't even arrive. Besides the slow service, the quality-price ratio is unfavorable: paying €16-17 for a minimum portion of two skewers and three cuttlefish is truly excessive for what we ate. I don't recommend it.

26/03/2026: There are places you walk into and immediately realize they don't take themselves too seriously—in the best possible sense. Fred calls himself "half host, half gourmet," working with wine and half portions: a manifesto written in pencil on a napkin, not on parchment. The concept is as simple as it is ingenious: portions are deliberately small to allow you to sample more dishes—a kind of do-it-yourself tasting, where you're the curator of your own dinner. It works. It sure does. In the kitchen, they play with quality ingredients, seasonality, bold pairings, and a certain elegance that doesn't put on airs. The common thread is always respect for the product and a few creative flourishes that keep the palate sharp. The real star of Fred, however, is the cellar: large, well-curated, with attentive guidance that ensures choosing the wine becomes an integral part of the experience. Letting someone recommend you is the right move. The atmosphere is intimate, the service professional without being stuffy. The only flaw? It's not the easiest place to get to—but who ever said beautiful things are within reach? In short: Fred's isn't a restaurant where you go to eat. It's a place where you go to browse, be surprised, and return.

17/02/2026: I have no complaints about the quality of the dishes (all very well received), but waiting almost an hour for the first course is intolerable. The response we received when we pointed this out at the cash register was particularly unpleasant: "Well, if you go out on Saturdays, you have to factor it in." Considering we go out every Saturday, and this has never happened to us, it seemed out of place to me... I should also point out that €3 for a mini basket with three slices of bread and four bibanesi, without a tablecloth or anything similar, seems a bit excessive.

19/07/2026: Unfortunately, our visit was not satisfactory. We had to wait a very long time, the floor in the dining area was quite dirty, and the ice cream machine was broken again. To top it all off, the cappuccino was already cold by the time we finally received it. The only positive aspect was that the staff were clearly trying their best, but they simply couldn't keep up. There's definitely room for improvement.

17/11/2025: Are there zero stars? Pretty awful service and food. I asked for a one-flavor brioche and they served me a different one (which, from the outside, looked like the one I'd asked for). Once I started eating it, I realized it wasn't what I'd asked for and mentioned it to the waitress, who didn't budge at all, even giving a hint of a smile. I mentioned it again to the lady at the cashier, and she wasn't the least bit concerned, either. Without even the slightest apology. The brioche, however, was obscene, piled up, like the packaged ones from discount stores, or even worse! This place is a complete no-no!

11/11/2025: A sensational place in the center of Ravenna, near the university campus. Extensive menu and fair prices. Top-quality products. Friendly and helpful staff. Students can stay and study. Much appreciated!!!

03/03/2026: It's one of those historic places that hasn't evolved. I had a seafood risotto, which arrived in five minutes (so definitely not express), and it was salty and had an uncertain presence of fish. The flavor reminded me of the broth used to cook shellfish heads. A water and a risotto cost €13.

01/03/2026: Lovely evening, friendly and punctual service. Good food. The mussels were small, but that's probably due to the seasonality. The pan-fried shellfish and molluscs, which we shared between four, were very good. Spaghetti with clams was not bad and plentiful. The grilled fish, fried fish, and mascarpone were all very good.
