A welcoming place in the historic center of Ferrara, it immediately presents itself in an informal but studied way.
The menu is truly unique, offering a mix of refined dishes and Ferrarese specialties, with creative combinations. Personally, only here have I tasted the fried veal brain, truly good and light! In general, the portions are generous, with fresh and quality ingredients. The wine list also goes hand in hand with refined cellars of small producers.
The service is very friendly, not too fast, but always tries to meet the needs of the customer. The price is in line with what is an experience to try.
In short, when you pass by, don't overtake, stop and eat something different from the usual.

Tante spiegazioni sui piatti e NON tutto il pesce che ti servono è fresco come ti raccontano!
01/04/2025: Accolti simpaticamente dal titolare (?) che poi ha spiegato i piatti. Piatti eccellenti della cucina siciliana, a base di pesce freschisssimo. Esperienza davvero piacevole coronata da un conto assolutamente adeguato a quello che abbiamo mangiato. Una bella scoperta, ci torneremo.

06/04/2025: The place is beautiful, we ate the fried calamari, prawns and vegetables, exceptional, very very light, super generous portion, difficult to finish everything due to the quantity.
The appetizer of courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta and placed on a beetroot and celery cream is also delicious.
Punctual and kind service.

16/04/2025: Well-kept and welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff. We ate pizza and 1 first course (gramigna with sausage). Food okay. We will come back to try the fish another time, and also all the desserts (cassata, cannoli, zeppole first and foremost).

26/04/2025: Conosco da tempo questo ristorante, il pesce è sempre buono. Non ci sono tanti piatti ma sono tutti preparati con ingredienti freschi e di ottima qualità. Ottimo il tonno con la cipolla caramellata e le polpette di baccalà. Non è economico ma i prezzi sono nella norma per un ristorante di pesce.

Courtesy and competence in the service and good hand in the kitchen.
Scallops, dry passatelli, pasta with sardines, octopus. All very good. I will definitely keep the address.
Time consuming but worth it 😜
07/02/2025: Abbiamo preso lo spaghettone con polpa di canocchie, peperoncino ecc...saporito, troppo distinguo poco la freschezza del pesce. Sarde a beccafico buone , ma stesso discorso.Non ho provato il fritto. Il vino in bottiglia fa levitare i prezzi. Per questo prezzo si potrebbe pretendere di più.

If you like it this way, this is your place.
Rough and rushed service (when do they ever take your dish away without asking if you've finished it?).
We had already come other times, but I'm afraid after yesterday it might be enough.

31/12/2024: Locale molto accogliente, servizio veloce e cordiale da parte del personale di sala preparato e non invadente. Propone una cucina tipica romagnola con materie prime di alta qualità. Antipasto a base di formaggi ottimi e polpette buone. Tortellini in crema di parmigiano e tagliatelle al ragù sublimi. Sicuramente lontano dalla zona più turistica ma merita un pranzo o una cena se ci si trova in zona. Consigliato

Cibo molto buono.
Unica nota stonata il servizio. Neanche il tempo di finire che già ti tolgono il piatto (senza darti il tempo di finire la scarpetta!!) e ci siamo rimasti male per un commento non appropriato verso una ragazza che non ha voluto il dolce. Glielo abbiamo fatto notare e abbiamo capito che manco sapeva di cosa si stava parlando
30/01/2025: Osteria Ruggera is always a guarantee of quality! A little gem of a place, intimate and well-kept, with a magical atmosphere!! The cuisine is exceptional and their Sicilian dishes are all sublime, you can feel the authenticity and high quality just like the cuisine of the past. I have known this restaurant for more than thirty years and coming back every time is a real pleasure! I thank Mrs. Anna for the kindness and warm welcome she always gives us. Everything excellent in an inimitable location!!! Super recommended.
