09/08/2025: Insaltona mari e monti, which is effectively a salad, but with the price of a large salad!!! Mushrooms not arrived! Bye bye!!

03/08/2025: On a quiet, slightly hidden street in the Don Bosco neighborhood lies a peaceful, family-run restaurant, a favorite among locals and beyond. The atmosphere is refined and modern, with a personal touch: the decorative stonework on the walls comes directly from Puglia, brought by the owners. The pizzas are truly delicious, well-cooked, and with original combinations. I've tried several pizzas: the Mortadella: tomato, mozzarella, mortadella, burrata, and chopped pistachios; the Bomba: tomato, mozzarella, speck, sweet salami, mushrooms, and gorgonzola; and the delicious fruit pizza: tomato, mozzarella, apples, walnuts, and gorgonzola; the latter is definitely my favorite of the three! All are balanced in flavor and prepared with care and plenty of toppings. The prices are fair, in line with the city, and the service is as lively as the owner! I'll definitely be back to explore the restaurant's specialty section of the menu.

13/04/2025: I've been once and will never go back, Abundance perhaps in the dishes, but Quality, Nothing, the famous Orecchiette, were the commercial ones, chewy, after all with that piece what do you expect. Never again.

22/07/2025: Terrible owner, truly rude. The number provided on Google Maps is unreachable, and I couldn't find out if it was possible to book a table at the restaurant because the answers provided were rude and unrelated to my simple question, "Is it possible to book a table?" Not recommended for those who want to be sure of finding a table even if they're coming from far away just to try the restaurant.

Excellent appetizers, first course with homemade pasta, cardoncelli mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, superb. They really deserve the compliments. We warmly recommend if you pass by Ceglie. 29/04/2025: Zenzero restaurant was a delightful experience! The Thai and Mediterranean dishes have been prepared with care and love, and the place is welcoming and clean. The quality of the products is evident in every dish, and the wide choice of wines was a pleasant surprise. The staff was courteous and professional, making our experience even more pleasant. Super recommended!

17/07/2025: Arriving at the restaurant, we're greeted by a waiter with a practically inexistent tone of voice. He's polite at first, but communication is difficult due to the background music and his decidedly low voice. He asks about various dishes: how are the "tongue burners"? "Hey, they're spicy." "How are the cheeses?" "They're ours." Okay... We'd already figured this out, but we'd have liked more clarification. The wine arrives, already opened without even being tasted. We order two first courses, one with pasta and meat (excellent, orecchiette with horse meat ragù and scamorza), the other with fish, which would have been better prepared in an elementary school cafeteria. Cavatelli with mussels, in a flavorless broth because it's also covered in the flavor of too much arugula (which I love, but used in just the right amount). My friend politely complains about this dish, but the waiter takes it personally. We explain that it's absolutely not his fault, but rather the fault of whoever cooked it. I wanted to order rice, potatoes, and mussels, still hungry, but "scared" by the first course, I didn't want to take the responsibility of ordering another dish for €19.90, risking a second disappointment. I ordered dried tomatoes, €9.90, a small dessert plate arrived, and I was asked if it was okay. I said yes, so that if it wasn't to my liking, at least I wouldn't have to throw that away too (I hate wasting food). Dried tomatoes... the ones from the worst supermarkets are better. After dinner, we ordered two desserts, coffee, and stood up for the bill. My friend at the cash register kindly pointed out the various mix-ups with some dishes and service. The gentleman at the cash register responded impatiently, with the waiter staring at us while he was behind us drinking from a mug (drinking water, of course), as if he wanted to hear if we were complaining about him, after having repeatedly expressed our complaint solely about the quality of some dishes compared to the price. I approached the cashier, pointing out his indifferent responses, and received equally indifferent responses, from a "man" to a well-mannered woman, so much so that I stooped to his level, telling him I'd "throw the money in his face" after being told "don't pay for dinner and leave." It's not about money; we go out for lunch every other day, we pay and leave tips for those who deserve it, for those who do their job honorably. There are some of us who have worked in the restaurant business for years and have never dared to behave like this. I haven't seen such service and rudeness in a long time. I wouldn't have had any expectations, other than perhaps politely asking if we'd liked anything else other than the "badly" served dish, or we would have expected some manager to intervene, asking what was wrong after the second complaint. But evidently, this restaurant likes to lose customers. I don't usually write reviews, unless they're exclusively positive; I'd rather abstain. But when it's too much, it's too much. And yes, we left without paying, after the responses we received, but we'd definitely be willing to return and pay the owner, perhaps after an apology from the incompetent staff. Oh, we're three from Puglia...

17/07/2025: An absolutely negative experience, starting with a fish-based first course, cavatelli with mussels for €19.90. It tasted nothing like mussels, and instead of creamed mussels, the broth was watery, with the other dominant flavor being arugula. We continued with orecchiette with meatballs for €19.90, and there were only three meatballs. The orecchiette with horse meat ragù and scamorza cheese were nothing to write home about. We continued with a plate of sun-dried tomatoes for €10 for a truly meager number. The service was disappointing, something to forget. Finally, at the end, we were told that this happens, and regarding the number of meatballs, we could have asked the waiter for more. This was all accompanied by extreme indifference, rudeness, and arrogance, when the duty of a restaurant manager, since the owner was not present, is to be attentive to the customer and, if there is a problem, to try to resolve it. Because the customer is paying you a lot, and this treatment is unworthy.

20/07/2025: It was recommended to us by locals, but we didn't find anything satisfying. The prices were high, not in line with the quality! The seafood appetizer was very disappointing, self-service and dated. The service was far too fast; it's obvious they're focusing on quantity. Not recommended for tourists looking for good seafood!

27/08/2025: After 7 days of traveling around Italy, my husband and I wanted something "on a spoon", liquid, in the sense of soup. Although it was not on the menu, we asked the waiter and expressed our desire. We were very pleasantly surprised when, before cooking, he brought the pieces that would be in our soup 👍 it was perfectly cooked, very tasty, really, all praise 🥰👍 Also, all the larger pieces were served alongside the main soup, so you could add them as you wished or eat them separately, which is also very commendable! Delicious 🥰

26/08/2025: A disappointing experience that didn't live up to expectations. The menu didn't match the actual food served: some dishes weren't available, and we were offered inconsistent substitutes (for example, salmon was served instead of anchovies). The "pilaf rice with shrimp" turned out to be a simple curry rice without shrimp, and the overall quality of the first courses was disappointing. The fried fish, unfortunately, was among the worst I've ever tasted. Furthermore, we noted discrepancies in the final bill, which seemed excessive for the overall quality.

17/07/2025: Un repas typique, savoureux et généreux dans une ambiance conviviale. L’osteria propose une cuisine des Pouilles authentique, avec des produits du terroir simples mais savoureux. Les orecchiette alla cime di rapa étaient excellentes, tout comme les antipasti variés et copieux. Le vin local complète parfaitement l’ensemble. Le service est attentionné. Ici, on mange bien, on se sent bien, et on repart avec le sourire. Une adresse à ne pas manquer pour découvrir l'âme culinaire des Pouilles !

03/07/2025: Es ist eine familiäre und authentische Osteria mit entsprechenden pugliesischen Spezialitäten. Was wir als sehr schön empfunden haben, ist die kleine Karte mir den typischen traditionellen Gerichten sowie einem Tagesgericht (welches sich tatsächlich als zwei unterschiedliche Gerichte darstellte). In der Seitengasse gibt es einige Tische ansonsten sitzt man gemütlich im Kellergewölbe. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und gaben sehr gute Erinnerungen an unseren Abend!

10/08/2025: Craving something tasty and traditional? Da Tonia is the place to be. From the entrance, a few steps lead to the well-kept garden. The menu is packed with delicacies, from pizza to roast meats. The selection of local products is highly appreciated. Prices are a bit higher than average, but it's worth it.

11/08/2025: For me, it's always been number one, a place close to my heart where I feel at home and am always welcomed with the utmost kindness and attention, even if they never recognize me from one year to the next, which means even more. The bombette are the number one in the world: soft and crunchy at the same time, seductive, erotic, tasty but not salty, they stay with you for days and days. And everything else is good too, including their smile and their hospitality. The real Itria Valley, the one of the past, before the crazy prices and the vulgar tourism that loves music that isn't music and is just noise that disturbs the tranquility of the most beautiful valley in the world. When you waste such a heritage, it means you don't respect the legacy of your ancestors. Long live Aunt Rosa ❤️

12/06/2025: Trattoria bien notée au guide du routard mais expérience très décevante. Un plat de sèche trop cuite et presque immangeable, nageant dans l'eau. Un porcelet insipide nageant également dans l'eau. Un vin au verre sans montrer la bouteille et sans le tester avant. Bref mérite un large détour.

05/05/2025: Locale storico nel cuore pulsante del paese, caldo ed accogliente, sia per la struttura e l' arredamento che per la disponibilità ed ospitalità del personale. Le pietanze rispettano la tradizione culinaria pugliese senza essere banali e scontate, con un pizzico di creatività che le rende ancora più gustose, e con materie prime di buona qualità, dall' antipasto al dessert.

17/08/2025: We stayed one night, primarily because of the property's excellent location. The price was reasonable, but that doesn't justify the malfunction of some amenities listed as available, such as air conditioning, television, and Wi-Fi. Furthermore, there was no hairdryer. Despite this, the staff was friendly and helpful.

13/08/2025: Unfortunately, I don't usually make such judgments, but the rooms were dirty, smelled of smoke, and the reception service was very "cold."

19/06/2025: This is one of those agriturismo places which, if I understand it correctly, is a farm that has its own restaurant so that you can experience farm to plate food. These tend to be stuck out in the countryside, as this one is, a few miles outside Peschici. The location is lovely, as was the experience dining amongst the olive groves. Unfortunately, the food and wine experience did not match. The food we received was OK but nothing special and we certainly experienced much better Orecchiette pasta on this trip round Puglia. And as for the wine well……. Now I have to say we visited here as part of a tour group with a UK travel company, so perhaps we were given the cheap stuff, but frankly it was closer to non alcoholic fruit juice that the excellent red wines this region produces. However, on this particular lunchtime it was full of locals (including the local Carbonari) with people queuing to get in. Sadly though not for me. I would not choose to come here under my own steam.
