09/08/2026: Trattoria Arlati dal 1936 is a historic Milanese institution with old-school charm, warm hospitality, and the kind of traditional atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re experiencing a little piece of Milan’s history. My favorite dish was the Risotto alla Milanese al Salto con Ossobuco—crispy, Milanese-style saffron risotto served with tender braised veal shank. So good! The contrast was everything: that golden, crispy crunch of the rice paired with the rich, fall-apart tenderness of the ossobuco. Such a comforting and memorable dish, and definitely a highlight of the meal.

08/08/2026: Perfect and authentic place. Excellent wine list, excellent service. The charcuterie and cotoletta alla milanese are simply the best in the world. A truly excellent trattoria!

20/08/2026: A restaurant by the Milan canal that is said to be trendy these days. I had the Milan specialty, Ossobuco Risotto and Cotolletti. It was delicious, and the portions were generally generous.

20/08/2026: On the train to Milan, we had an animated conversation with an older lady. We asked her for tips on restaurants and dishes. When we looked up a restaurant that had been recommended to us this evening, and which was also listed as open on Google, we found ourselves in a grey neighborhood in front of a closed door. Google led us to Ossbus, where we had to wait a bit for a free table. (Very good sign 😀) Great, a menu that you can view via a QR code on your phone. At least then you have a reason to hold your phone 😂. We chose mondeghili. Delicious fried meatballs. Because the meat is mixed with cheese and bread, it feels much lighter. Risotto with Luganega sausage. A very refined introduction to Milanese cuisine. And the Pappardelle meat ragout. Wonderfully comforting. We had totally misjudged the portion sizes, because after this came the lightly breaded costeletta with sautéed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Our hearts are big enough, but our stomachs couldn't handle it anymore. But no problem, the friendliest and proudest waiter packed it up for us as if it were the most normal thing in the world, so that we can continue to enjoy it tomorrow in a sandwich. We simply couldn't refuse a small topping with a limoncello and amaretti on the house. What a wonderful first introduction to Milan.

29/07/2026: A typical Milanese restaurant. The risottos are excellent, the elephant ear cutlet is also excellent, and what can I say about the ossobuco? I will return without a doubt.

20/07/2026: Excellent place, super tasty, and highly recommended. The place is quite casual, but the food is top-notch! The owner also gave us excellent advice on his dishes, helping us choose the best! I'll definitely be back.

22/08/2026: The shrimp and saffron gnocchi were excellent, and the tagliolini with duck ragù was average. The waitress was friendly, but the service varies depending on your reservation. If you book with The Fork or similar apps, the service is different. I would have loved a second course, but given the service I received, I decided not to. I also noticed that some dishes served to regular customers weren't listed on the menu. Two first courses, half a liter of wine, water, and two coffees came to €44, including The Fork discount.

08/08/2026: Good food, nothing exceptional. I recommend a wine list so you can browse and choose based on your own knowledge. It's fine to be advised, but only if asked. What I found most unpleasant was that we booked around 9:00 PM, asking if a table for two was available at 9:30 PM. We were told to arrive at the restaurant at 9:40 PM. We arrived around 9:33 PM, took a seat, and ordered at 9:42 PM. While ordering, we were told that the kitchen would be closing soon, so if we wanted to add anything to our order, we would have to do so very quickly. Leaving aside the fact that two other couples entered after us and were greeted without any mention of the kitchen closing, what I found unpleasant was this statement about the kitchen closing. If the kitchen closes at 9:45 or 10:00 PM, let us know when we're making a reservation, and especially don't take a reservation for 9:40 PM if the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. I found that the pressure to order and report that the kitchen was closing was due to the fact that we only ordered appetizers, not being particularly hungry. I'd also like to add that if you call yourself a trattoria and you're located just behind the Naviglio but in a working-class neighborhood, the prices need to be reconsidered, otherwise change your name and call yourself a restaurant. €113 for two, we had two appetizers and four slices of aged stracchino, two desserts (the crème brûlé was anything but brûlé, and a tiny slice of lemon cake), a bottle of wine, bread, water, and four liqueurs. At a trattoria, you wouldn't spend more than €80 total (and that's already a lot).

30/12/2025: I've been following Cesare Battisti for a while; his cuisine intrigued me, and I wanted to try it for lunch. Expectations were very high, and... they weren't disappointed. Congratulations to everyone. More than a brigade, it was an army of attentive and harmonious young people... and then the food, speechless. Excellent products, expertly cooked and presented. The only drawback... I don't eat meat, and I would have expected more choice. Parking... A slap in the face to whoever wrote "difficulties," etc. There are two different parking lots 50 meters away, of course, paid, but that's the case everywhere in Milan. Let's hope for the next administration, but that has nothing to do with this... All things considered, it was a positive experience and definitely worth trying. Well done everyone.

30/12/2025: Drawn by the chef's cute videos, I rushed to City Life for the first time in my life for lunch at Ratanà. Parking isn't registered on Gmaps. The atmosphere is nice, nothing special; the City Life location seems cold to me. I had a truffle risotto, €80, and they didn't cut and weigh it at the table. It might be my fault for not usually looking at prices, but if I had seen it, I would have avoided it. Decent flavor, even too bland for me. Nothing exceptional. Then the mushroom skewer on mashed potatoes, a canteen dish, failed. Total €110, and they didn't serve coffee. The staff seemed average. I wanted a bitter, but the selection at the bar seemed poor. I won't go back, and yet it's always sold out.

22/06/2026: Our dinner at Trattoria del Nuovo Macello was the authentic Italian dining experience I have been longing for. We ordered the tasting menu, and the kitchen’s quest for flavor shines through in absolutely every single course. Everything from the starters to the exceptional desserts was flawlessly executed. Beyond the culinary artistry, the hospitality here is unparalleled. They went completely out of their way to make our daughter feel welcome, crafting a custom pasta dish and a delicious homemade limonata soda just for her. It’s rare to find a place that balances Michelin-level technical execution with such warm, genuine care. A must-visit in Milan!

It was a place that offered me a peaceful dinner in a romantic atmosphere after a chaotic day in Milan. I highly recommend it. 12/08/2026: I ordered the saffron risotto, which is supposedly famous in Milan. It was a little bland. I tasted the seafood pasta, and that seemed a bit too strong.
