16/02/2026: A typical Milanese trattoria, serving traditional dishes with a few twists. The ossobuco is excellent, but the risotto al salto isn't so great. The space is a bit small and crowded with memorabilia, but it's worth a visit. Good wine selection, slightly above average prices.

16/01/2026: We were in Milan for the Procession of the Magi on January 6th and were looking for a place to have lunch in the Navigli area. The name of this osteria intrigued us, and we couldn't have made a better choice! Entering feels like stepping back in time. This small restaurant exudes the atmosphere (and the aromas of cooking) of old Milan. The atmosphere is homey, without unnecessary frills, making you feel right at home. I loved the set of dishes from Grandma's kitchen 😍😍 The menu features popular classics; we had fried brains, risotto with ossobuco, sautéed rice with luganega ragù and peas, and a pear and taleggio risotto—all EXCELLENT! What more can I say... I felt like I was at Grandma's house, having Sunday lunch, with the whole family, cheerful and boisterous. I hope it maintains this spirit over time and doesn't let trends change.

30/01/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trattoria de la Trebi is an excellent steakhouse that impresses in every way. The steaks are of outstanding quality, grilled to perfection, and taste superb. Add to that the great prices, which make this level of quality particularly attractive. A real highlight is the exceptionally good wine list with a fantastic selection for every palate. Even those who aren't steak lovers will find plenty to enjoy, as the menu offers a variety of high-quality alternatives. The fact that we dined there twice during our stay in Milan demonstrates just how much we loved this restaurant – there's hardly a higher compliment than that. 🥩🍷🇮🇹

19/01/2026: The cutlet is passable, but it's not a true Milanese; they serve it thick and rare, or pounded until it's too thin, and definitely not fried in butter. The saffron risotto is the worst I've had in Milan. The place is too crowded and touristy. The prices are in line with Milan, but not with the quality of the food. The €3 gas charge is absurd: I've never experienced anything like it. I wouldn't go back and I don't recommend it.

14/12/2025: I've been there for dinner five or six times already... it's become my favorite restaurant ❤️... the atmosphere is impeccably clean and well-kept (that's not a given these days). The appetizers are excellent, with something for everyone. There's a corner of the restaurant where a "salumiere" prepares and slices the cured meats and raspadüra on the spot. This preparation ensures the dish is the best you could wish for. The meat-based main courses, for those like me who still love good beef, are truly worth trying: ribs, fillet, etc., served with vegetables and homemade sauces. A special mention goes to the porcini mushrooms, enjoyed fresh. They are sublime. The desserts, always homemade, are varied and all delicious for those with a true sweet tooth. (I can't recommend the first courses only because I've never tried them. At the restaurant, I prefer the second courses.) Wide selection of wines.

04/03/2026: A restaurant that offers a truly remarkable experience. The combination of cuisine, service, wine list, and ambiance is top-notch, without being overbearing: the quality doesn't need to be shouted about. Perhaps the only (venial) flaw is the limited menu.

18/02/2026: I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 20+ years, and it is always a guarantee. One of the few cases I know of, of a restaurant managing to keep the 'snail' (too distinction) of the slow food restaurant guide for decades in a row: meaning that the quality does not go down, and the prices do not go up - not too much, at least. One if the most respected Italian restaurant critics claims it has the best cotoletta alla Milanese and I can only agree. This said, next to the evergreens (cotoletta, risotto and so on) there are always several new modern takes on traditional dishes - some you may have never heard before. Service always attentive. Refined and relaxed atmosphere. Count on me for the next twenty years!

29/01/2026: Nothing special, except for the unjustifiably high prices! The quality of the ingredients is rather low, and the cooking technique is inadequate. Not knowing how to make a proper risotto is a serious problem for a restaurant boasting Milanese traditions. Not to mention the undercooked suckling pig, which poses a health risk. Never again.

30/12/2025: Drawn by the chef's cute videos, I rushed to City Life for the first time in my life for lunch at Ratanà. Parking isn't registered on Gmaps. The atmosphere is nice, nothing special; the City Life location seems cold to me. I had a truffle risotto, €80, and they didn't cut and weigh it at the table. It might be my fault for not usually looking at prices, but if I had seen it, I would have avoided it. Decent flavor, even too bland for me. Nothing exceptional. Then the mushroom skewer on mashed potatoes, a canteen dish, failed. Total €110, and they didn't serve coffee. The staff seemed average. I wanted a bitter, but the selection at the bar seemed poor. I won't go back, and yet it's always sold out.

30/12/2025: I've been following Cesare Battisti for a while; his cuisine intrigued me, and I wanted to try it for lunch. Expectations were very high, and... they weren't disappointed. Congratulations to everyone. More than a brigade, it was an army of attentive and harmonious young people... and then the food, speechless. Excellent products, expertly cooked and presented. The only drawback... I don't eat meat, and I would have expected more choice. Parking... A slap in the face to whoever wrote "difficulties," etc. There are two different parking lots 50 meters away, of course, paid, but that's the case everywhere in Milan. Let's hope for the next administration, but that has nothing to do with this... All things considered, it was a positive experience and definitely worth trying. Well done everyone.

07/01/2026: Had an amazing meal here! Both the crab and shrimp pasta and the shrimp and squid pasta was really good! Tomato sauce was not overpowering and you could taste the crab flavour infused into the pasta. Friendly and nice restaurant with a really warm ambience. Good service! On a side note, the bread that was served at the start was the best we had in Italy!

21/12/2025: We went for dinner last night. Everything was impeccably prepared and the food was delicious. The table service, especially from the maître d', was remarkable. We'll definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat excellent Milanese food in a very beautiful part of Milan. Even though it's a touristy area, I wouldn't call this restaurant "for tourists" at all (unfortunately, this happens in certain parts of the city, but that's not the case at Vecchia Lira, where the food and atmosphere are authentic).
