A wonderful surprise. Everything exceeded expectations because in every bite you could feel the pursuit of quality and attention to detail. We had a divine meal. Special mention also for the desserts, which perfectly rounded off an already excellent dinner. Impeccable service.

We went with fairly high expectations, but we left feeling a bit disappointed.
The food is limited, which isn't a flaw in itself, but none of it really stood out. I found both the first course and the cutlet to be average, lacking anything memorable.
The service was also a bit sluggish: we had to ask several times for drinks and coffee.
The atmosphere is a bit cold, partly due to the lack of background music that would make everything more welcoming.
It's certainly a historic venue, but the prices are also quite high, and considering the experience, I didn't find them entirely justified. Although I tend not to care about price, this time I couldn't help but notice.
I didn't leave dissatisfied, but overall, for me, it was a rather mediocre meal.

Calvairate is divided, like most of the neighborhoods on the Milanese ring road, you find industrial ruins and… the best Milanese restaurant in the world: unbeatable risotto giallo and signature cotoletta

A Milanese restaurant with cozy decor, too noisy, and quite far away. We had saffron risotto, excellent if rather rich, rice timbale, Milanese cutlet, excellent, small portion, and mashed potatoes. It's a shame the wait was so long between courses. The waiters were friendly, but the owner is a bit too showy!

They say they serve the best cutlet in Milan here... well, it's true! In the sense that their "cuteleta" is masterful, succulent, and textbook-style fried. Served thick, with the meat remaining soft and pink in the center.
On the plate, you'll also find a small meatball, reminiscent of a mondeghili.
The risotto giallo is also delicious (perhaps less wine would have been better, but that's a minor detail).
The appetizers are also good: a Spigaroli culatello, simply perfect mondeghili, homemade nervetti with apple cider vinegar—not the kind you find in supermarkets, even if they might seem a bit too strong to some.
A delicious Nebbiolo Pavese washes it all down.
The service is courteous and attentive, perhaps a tad slow. It's a family-run business, so I would have expected a little less in the final bill.
The Michelin Bib Gourmand is well deserved.

Everything was really excellent. If I had to choose one dish, the risotto was really good. Definitely worth a try.

The inside is very nice even if the outside doesn't really catch the eye. Let's just say that if you don't know it, you probably don't go in. However, I had the tasting menu and found everything very good. The kitchen's timing is also just right: they don't throw the dishes at you one after the other, but rather let the right amount of time pass so you can eat calmly. The service isn't bad, but a few more smiles wouldn't hurt, something I only saw from the younger girl, who appears to be a little inexperienced but still does her best. Finally, I'd say the owner has a personality that's suitable and more than suited to his job.

A truly interesting place, we did the tasting I propose, perfect for those who want to learn about Milanese cuisine, a step above the saffron risotto, impeccable service, very much appreciated the explanations that accompanied the dishes... I highly recommend it!

We've been coming here for 20 years, occasionally, for a lunch break that's different from the norm.
The atmosphere is typical of a Milanese trattoria, the staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly, the ingredients are excellent, and the dishes are delicious.
The problem is the portions: a business lunch can't be the size of a tasting dinner, because that leaves you feeling as hungry as if you'd never sat down!
Last time, the "business lunch" included a first course of five ravioli, each about 3 cm thick, and a second course of three meatballs. All delicious, of course, but definitely below any acceptable calorie threshold.
It's a shame: perhaps it would be better to offer "leaner" dishes for the business lunch option, but make sure customers don't have to stop for kebab on the way back to the office!
