11/04/2026: Lanterna Verde, in the heart of Trecchina, is a place that manages to combine the welcoming atmosphere of an osteria with the attention to detail of a restaurant and the versatility of a pizzeria. The menu is wide and varied, with carefully presented dishes and an almost gourmet touch, making the experience enjoyable from the very first glance. The portions aren't particularly generous, but the quality more than makes up for it. I didn't have the chance to try the pizza, but watching it being passed around the tables nearby, it looked truly inviting, well-leavened and packed with fresh ingredients. I opted for the meat, which was tender and flavorful, accompanied by simple but well-prepared side dishes. The cod fillet was also excellent, tender, delicate, and cooked with great balance of flavors. The deconstructed cake served at the end of the meal was a pleasant surprise, delicious without being heavy. The service was courteous and helpful, with attentive but never intrusive staff. Overall, Lanterna Verde is a place worth a visit: a refined restaurant with well-crafted dishes and a relaxing atmosphere. It deserves four stars, and I'm eager to return to finally try the pizza.

17/05/2026: Drawn by the positive reviews, we decided to have lunch here. Unfortunately, neither the first nor the second course satisfied us, and we left feeling truly disappointed. The photos, unfortunately, don't reflect what we were actually served. The only positive note was the wine, but it wasn't enough to compensate for the quality of the food. The sauce was very watery, and the pork cutlet seemed to be drowned in wine: there was no reduction, as indicated on the menu. A real shame.
14/05/2026: This restaurant has a rich cultural heritage; it's nearly 100 years old, and the building itself is over 100 years old. That's why it received a cultural award, which is quite unique. The food is Southern Italian cuisine. Local red peppers (I didn't take a picture) are used in the dishes, and they're very fragrant. Please see the photos for food descriptions. Overall, it suited my taste. Personally, I think everything—from the sourdough bread and cheese platter to the raw meat platter—was delicious. If you're ever in this area, I highly recommend trying it. 👍🏻😊

30/05/2026: We had a great meal - excellent steak and pasta. Only about 15 euros a head. Strong place to go to.
13/05/2026: A nice restaurant with super good food. We had the opportunity to meet a Romanian waiter settled for a long time in Italy who was very nice and helped us decide what to choose. A pretty good wine suite and at a fair price. The beef was brilliant and the lamb crumbs wrapped in porridge, quite interesting.

17/05/2026: I can't comment on the food, but I have practically zero tact regarding the hospitality and the ability to resolve a problem. A customer who travels 100 km to see you shouldn't be turned away just because he asks for an hour's early lunch. Or rather, there are ways and means. You could have tried to find a solution. You're obviously quite full. Enjoy your life.
03/05/2026: Located in a stunning location, that's all that's good, though. The staff is haughty and not at all courteous; the girls are improvised (definitely not trained) because they have no idea what it means to serve a customer. They don't allow dogs (in 2026, I think everyone knows that dogs are considered family members and more polite than certain humans). Food: Again, nothing special; in fact, you can eat better at some local trattorias. We ate meager portions of both first and second courses. But the highlight was the pasta on a cream (broth) of legumes and the artichoke literally boiled with a quenelle of ricotta, which, I mean, isn't haute cuisine. The meat was incredibly tough; the other first course called for hazelnuts, but only molecules of the latter were found. Strascinati: ugh... here, an annoying cream cheese, who knows who combined it with the other ingredients? Bread is only available upon request. They know how to set the prices right.

15/02/2026: Terrible experience. We sat at the table at 8:40 pm, after half an hour of no waiter paying attention to us we asked for a menu and the only thing they brought us was water... we asked for the menu after another 15 minutes and they told us that there was an à la carte menu and that we would have to wait... to top it off at 9:40 pm we got up and on top of that we paid for water and the cover charge for a total of 9 euros for two people... not even worth paying!!

22/02/2026: I was inspired by the reviews and photos I found on TheFork. I don't know, it was all a mixed bag: the appetizer for two was nothing to write home about. I'm from Basilicata, and yes, they were perhaps typical, but not overly so. The first courses were good, but again, nothing exceptional. We had the black pork ragù and cacio e crusco. So, let's say the overall rating is satisfactory. The place is small but cute and quaint. The service is good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. All in all, it deserves 3 stars. Prices are average.
05/01/2026: After booking with The Fork with a 30% discount, the alleged owner didn't charge us with the app but instead added an extra charge to the bill instead of offering the discount. Terrible.

06/08/2025: Posto fantastico, cucina alla vecchia maniera, abbiamo preso: fusilli fatti in casa, alicine fritte, orata e zucchine sotto olio. Prenotazione presa alle 21.30 quindi anche abbastanza tardi.
31/07/2025: Tappa fissa per ogni nostra estate a Maratea: sapori autentici, atmosfera familiare grande cortesia! Ottima l’orata alla brace
