12/01/2026: Until today, it was my favorite lunch break. Starting tomorrow, it won't be anymore. You can't "invite" a customer to leave if they've just finished a bite, just because there are other customers waiting outside and you're afraid of losing them. Those are fast food restaurants, but even there, they don't "invite" you to leave your table today. I'm regretfully changing my review and will go for lunch somewhere with more customer service. P.S.: You don't hypocritically apologize when you send someone away. You take responsibility. Best regards, 👋🏻

08/03/2026: We went to Osteria Pico and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. The food was truly excellent, with authentic flavors and attention to detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and truly enjoyable. Special thanks to our waitress Giulia, who was incredibly kind, smiling, and very professional. Her service made the evening even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back and I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and feel welcomed!
15/02/2026: Everything was excellent; we recommend the homemade macaroni. The cover charge of three euros per person seemed a bit steep.

02/01/2026: I'm sorry, but I don't think it was an experience worth repeating, even though it was recommended. Unfortunately, we didn't have many alternatives. The place has a very old-fashioned '80s feel, and that's fine, but the food, unfortunately, can't remain stuck in those days! We waited a bit to be considered and receive the QR code, which was on other tables but not ours. The house red wine was sparkling, but no one told us about it. We asked for a bottle of red, too, but they didn't know if it was sparkling or not. The first course, fusilli with pancetta and mushrooms in white sauce, had cream in the sauce, which, unfortunately, was always used in the infamous '80s and '90s. The second course, which was supposed to be a fillet with mushrooms and truffles, wasn't, to my modest knowledge, but rather a sirloin with a very salty sauce because it was definitely prepared with a stock cube. This evening, I also noticed some customers, certainly regulars, coming in and out of the kitchen as if they were at home. I can understand that, but there are usually rules that must be followed, like HACCP, standards implemented in the new millennium! Fortunately, the price was fair, despite everything! Hello, adding to my initial review, I'll respond. First of all, unfortunately, and not regrettably, I don't believe I referred to or commented on the alleged birthday party taking place at your "restaurant," but rather, I was merely commenting, from my culinary perspective, on the dishes I was served during dinner. As for the '80s style, that's fine; in fact, I don't think I said anything bad about it, but I did focus on the dishes and the behavior of your customers/friends, who came in and out of the kitchen as if they were at home, something that shouldn't happen in a supposed "restaurant," as I said previously. Returning to the first course of fusilli, pancetta, and mushrooms described on the menu and in the photo, strictly in white, it doesn't justify the fact that you've been using cream for years, because as you should know, cream is only used by those who can't prepare a dish without adding sauces. However, for the second course, which is presented on the menu as a fillet, you now come and tell me it's a veal rack!?! I think you're a bit confused both in your "restaurant" and in your culture as such. Your demi-glacé was prepared with the addition of a stock cube because its flavor and excessive saltiness are completely inexplicable. Regarding the house wine, I repeat that those serving tables should at least know what they're offering the customer, especially if the customer asks for a bottle of Aglianico with 13.5% ABV and no ABV instead of the house wine, as you wrote. I've never been nervous about the birthday party held at your restaurant, and I don't think I wrote "infamy," but reading the various comments, I've noticed that you're accustomed to responding this way to anyone who has something to say about your restaurant. The demi-glacé wasn't confused with cream, so I strongly suggest you reread what I wrote previously; perhaps you're the one who gets nervous easily. Finally, a fillet is not the same as a rack of veal, and veal is, at most, castrated, not castrated. I don't know if it's ever left Sasso di Castalda, but I suggest you do so because I think you might be surprised.
01/01/2026: We booked this restaurant-pizzeria with high expectations, hoping to try typical local dishes. They seated us at a table away from the crowd, but they forgot about us, and we were forced to at least ask for the menu. The appetizers, first courses, and second courses were of poor quality and preparation. The house wine was a sparkling red, but we hadn't been told that, so we asked for a still bottle of red, but the waitress/owner didn't even know the wine she was serving us. Not to mention the local families with children left unattended, screaming all over the room, and the same parents who came into the kitchen and behind the counter as if it were their own home.

01/11/2025: A restaurant in the heart of the Murgia Materana, excellent food and good prices, saving you a few euros compared to others on the same street. The restroom is clean despite the busy streets. You can eat inside or outside on the panoramic terrace. They don't accept lunch after 2:30 PM; I recommend arriving at 12:30 PM. After 1:00 PM, the number of people arriving is at a peak, although they do arrive fairly quickly.
31/10/2025: An absolute disgrace. The only reason I ended up here was because everything else was closed for siesta — and what a punishment that turned out to be. I honestly have no idea how this dump has a high rating. Every dish was an insult to the ingredients it was made from. It takes real “talent” to ruin food this badly. Whoever is in that kitchen shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a stove — they clearly have zero respect for taste, or for the people they’re serving. The salad was borderline edible (and still too acidic), but the rest was a complete disaster. If this is considered acceptable cooking in Italy, then the country’s entire culinary reputation is in serious trouble. This place is a tourist trap of the worst kind — disgusting, overpriced, and shameless. I left furious and offended that this kind of garbage is being sold as food.

15/07/2025: Personnel très sympathique. La vue est sublime et le cadre est très agréable. L’huile d’olive est excellente et avec le pain c’est très doux. Aucune faute, tout est parfait ! Ils ont tous les codes de la restauration. Nous vous recommandons spécialement la viande, qui à notre avis est une grande spécialité de cet endroit. Elle est tendre et très goûteuse. On a adoré ! Les pâtes ont un côté plus recherché et innovant. La carte des vins est surprenante, n’hésitez pas à en prendre. Bref, un très bon moment passé en famille. Nous reviendrons sans problème.
15/07/2025: Vins, charcuterie, pâtes, desserts, tout était excellent. Personnel et cadre sympa. Un peu cher mais les plats en valent la peine.

06/02/2026: We had a night at the local camper stop and checked with Google maps and the restaurant web site which gave no indication it was closed in fact Google maps said it was open at 13:00 to 15:00 so we went to get a meal. After sitting outside for 30 mins and finding no life at the restaurant we left. We were going to spend two nights at the camper stop but after this we decided to move on. I hope this restaurant can publish some information when it does open or at the very least what people have to do to get it to open.

30/12/2025: I found this place a bit unwelcoming. Let me tell you, the waiter who took our order was a bit strange, aloof, and unwelcoming. He didn't even look at us, looking around while he took our order, even after I paid. The meat and mushrooms were very good. The prices were outrageous, nothing more than other places. Once I tried it, I won't be going back.
10/11/2025: We supped at this fine tavern, and the atmosphere was most splendid — it bore the spirit of ages past. Food were great. Recommended

09/01/2026: This summer, for the feast of San Rocco, we opted for this restaurant because all the other establishments were fully booked. The food, though very moderate, was good, but the atmosphere wasn't. There was a waitress who always had a stern look when serving tables, and in any case, the one star isn't for her, but for another extremely rude person. When we told her that the steak one of us had ordered was difficult to chew, because it had obviously been cooked incorrectly, she literally flew into a rage, embarrassing us and leaving us in disbelief. I won't go into detail about the painful scene; it would have been enough, as is proper, to apologize and make up for it with a new order. They were most likely under pressure because the dishes were coming out of the kitchen excessively slowly, but such rudeness towards customers is unforgivable. Reading the responses to other reviews, I realize they just don't know how to treat customers politely, even though they don't necessarily have to be right, but they certainly deserve polite treatment.

We sat at the table at 8:40 pm, after half an hour of no waiter paying attention to us we asked for a menu and the only thing they brought us was water... we asked for the menu after another 15 minutes and they told us that there was an Ă  la carte menu and that we would have to wait... to top it off at 9:40 pm we got up and on top of that we paid for water and the cover charge for a total of 9 euros for two people... not even worth paying!!

Agriturismo situato in mezzo alla natura dove si possono gustare piatti buonissimi con materie prime prodotte in loco! Camera spaziosa, pulitissima e molto luminosa. Consigliamo a tutti di vivere questa esperienza, noi ci torneremo sicuramente.
21/07/2025: Siamo stati in visita un paio di giorni a Pietrapertosa/Castelmezzano e non potevamo avere di meglio!! L'agriturismo é localizzato in una bellissima valle ai piedi delle dolomiti lucane dove si può ammirare uno stupendo paesaggio agricolo. I piatti della cucina sono quelli autentici della tradizione, utilizzando i prodotti a km 0 che il signor Antonio ne crea con cura. Questa azienda agrituristica é adatta a tutti: coppie, famiglie, gruppi, singoli, camperisti. Mette a disposizione qualsiasi servizio a ogni tipo di cliente. Un plauso va a Antonio e Giuseppe e alla loro famiglia che hanno fatto di tutto per metterci a nostro agio. Grazie di tutto!!! N.b. Caro Giuseppe torneremo di sicuro!!!

22/02/2026: I was inspired by the reviews and photos I found on TheFork. I don't know, it was all a mixed bag: the appetizer for two was nothing to write home about. I'm from Basilicata, and yes, they were perhaps typical, but not overly so. The first courses were good, but again, nothing exceptional. We had the black pork ragĂą and cacio e crusco. So, let's say the overall rating is satisfactory. The place is small but cute and quaint. The service is good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. All in all, it deserves 3 stars. Prices are average.
05/01/2026: After booking with The Fork with a 30% discount, the alleged owner didn't charge us with the app but instead added an extra charge to the bill instead of offering the discount. Terrible.
