03/02/2026: We found this hidden gem as we walking looking for somewhere extraordinary to celebrate my wife's birthday, what we didn't expect was to find this amazing and unique experience. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left was incredible to say the least, the homemade bread and olive oil is sublime, the starters were mind blowing along with the mains and desserts. We sat at the chefs table where you eat what the chef decides and pay what you feel, (which depicts what we paid as it was amazing we paid what we thought was courtesy enough with a tip and drinks included in the price) and I cannot deny it was amazing and the local red wine was delicious. We even got a picture with the chef and staff afterwards and went through inside and experienced their locale fare with some music and dance. Strongly recommend this place. Thank you for a wonderful experience couldn't have asked for anything better to celebrate the wife's birthday truly unique and amazing. September 2025

19/12/2025: Delicious lunch at this totally charming and cozy family owned and run trattoria. Most of the customers were locals. Everyone knew everyone. The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect. So happy we found Chantecler!!

08/10/2025: Edit: It’s been 4 years since I wrote this review and I still think about this Limoncello Spritz at least once a week… Best place to watch the sunset. Nice view over the marina, Naples and the Vesuvius. And the limoncello spritz with fresh mint is unlike anything you’ll ever have. Very affordable as well!

30/09/2025: This is my first time leaving a Google review. It's self-service, so the prices are reasonable, and the owner is incredibly friendly. The view is great, and it's a great sunset spot! I recommend it for a quick snack and a drink or coffee!

23/02/2026: **Update** I wanted to update my review. On Monday morning the place was open, and we stopped by for some pastries. We had a croissant and a Pan di Stelle pastry, and both were very fresh and delicious. Friendly staff too. Please update your closing hours. —— Google shows that the place is open until 22:00, but when we arrived at 19:34 on a Saturday (Feb 21st) it was already closed. The opening hours need to be updated to avoid confusion.

28/01/2026: It was a rainy day when I went. It was busy. Lots of locals. Great cappuccino and good pastry. The barista put me at ease right away and spoke English. I will go there again.

17/02/2026: Beautiful simple food, great flavours, nice location, kind staff Try the caprese, it was so good that we sat for ages talking about it, and how sad it is that so many places can mess up something so simple. Here, it's done right. Coming back soon.

03/11/2025: The daily specials offered verbally weren't priced and were much more expensive than the menu items. The bruschetta (about the size of a bread roll) cost a whopping €30. The food was good, but far too expensive!

17/09/2025: The only positive was the location, but everything else was extremely disappointing. The service was unfriendly and unwelcoming — we felt ignored and not valued as customers the entire time. The bread was stale, the pasta completely tasteless, and the portions very small. For the price, it was not good value for money. Despite the good location, the atmosphere was far from hospitable, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

16/09/2025: Friendly staff, busy restaurant but managed to get a table for 2 outside just in time. Ordered a meat sharing platter to start which was tasty and portion size was good, followed by the “Mesca Francesca” which was a medley of pasta tossed in a melting wheel of Parmesan - this was the best meal we’ve had in our 4 day stay in Sorrento. Local red wine was also very good. Portion size was healthy Atmosphere was good Staff were attentive Overall - Cinque Stelle
