19/05/2025: Absolutely loved this quaint restaurant. Service was without fault. Wonderful sommelier and great wines. Food was outstanding. We came back for a second visit during our 5 days in Tropea. It was, for us, the stand out meal of two weeks visiting Rome/Reggio Calabria and Tropea

27/05/2025: The food was okay, but the service was a bit overwhelmed at times. For example: We ordered an orata (sea bream), but "unfortunately, it's out, have a spigola, it's similar." Okay, we ordered a spigola, but a slice of pesce spada (grilled swordfish) arrived that we hadn't ordered. On our table were the white wine we ordered in the cooler and two filled glasses. A waiter appeared with a bottle of red wine and two glasses, expressed surprise that we supposedly hadn't ordered it, and left again (the wine was eagerly awaited at the neighboring table, 50 cm away). A similar thing happened again with spaghetti vongole, which was brought to us but meant for someone else ;-)))). Maybe next time we'll just eat and drink whatever they bring us 🙃 Always well-stocked, that might explain it.

16/05/2025: Me and my friend went for a dinner in this nice restaurant and when we arrived i notice the very welcoming and nice ambient, the owner and the server accomodate us in a nice table and “cuddle” us since the beginning; we got served a starter after few minutes with crispy rice and a parmigiano cream phenomenal, than our server provide to take our order. we shared an antipasto “paese” which came with all fresh local stuff as ricotta fresca,sopressata,a very delicate and tasty parmigiana,onion omelet and nduja bruschetta; as main course we both got pasta: mine was with anchovies, nduja crumble (never seen and really interesting),caramelized onion and wild fennel, my friend got the one with raw langustine,stracciatella and pistacchio…both were PHENOMENAL! We didn’t have any space for dessert but we’re going back for sure to try it; highly recommended

04/05/2025: Enchanting location in a central but not chaotic area. All the staff were very attentive to our requests and above all always kind and helpful, with a constantly present smile on their faces. We started with two “Alice” starters, very welcome with fresh and local products. Subsequently we chose two first courses "Armonia Mediterranea" which we highly recommend, as it was a true explosion of flavours. We concluded with a good fry with very fresh calamari and prawns and a double-cooked octopus. Absolutely honest account, excellent value for money. Really really good, super recommended, we had a wonderful Sunday! Well done.

16/11/2024: I had been living in Tropea for a few weeks and this place and their sister restaurant, la dispensa by boca, are my favorite spots by far. The food is amazing, I enjoyed every meal and kept going back. I tried a few of the pasta dishes and main courses, and all are delicious, including the friesian sirloin steak, which was perfectly cooked. the three course tasting menu is a very good value. All of the seafood was very fresh and very well prepared. I loved how they mixed flavors and explored new ways of incorporating Calabrese staples. Each meal was a really fun foodie experience. The wine selection is also excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and excited about the food and wine. It’s also beautiful as it is in the square next to the duomo. This is a must visit when in Tropea, enjoy!

05/01/2025: Posto accogliente perfetto per gustare ottima carne e vari tipi di carne,il proprietario ti accoglie e ti consiglia con attenzione, abbiamo degustato diversi tagli tra cui gli arrosticini, filetto delicato e morbidissimo, la picanha davvero succulente accompagnato da ottimo vino, e per concludere ottimi dolci,posto piacevole e di classe lo raccomandiamo vivamente

02/01/2025: Not only did they give us a warm welcome but also made us feel at home. We hadn't been able to find a place to have dinner when we found this restaurant where we could celebrate the new year. Highly recommended. Delicious food and unique dishes.

30/12/2024: Everything is very good, from fried to dessert. Very kind staff and very nice atmosphere, slightly more secluded and quiet than most of the other places in the area. Perfect for a quick meal or a snack and with quite low prices.

16/11/2024: Update, this summer I go to get a braid with almonds and they give me the one from the day before, it was rubbery and also much smaller than last year's, I point out to them that it was from the day before, that it was rubbery and as always they climb up the mirrors, the funniest thing is when I tell them that they were smaller than other years and they find the excuse that they had come out smaller, in fact the next day I go in to get another one and notice that they were the same old ones from the day before, I left without buying anything, they won't see me again, shame for the tourists who are literally almost made fun of....., the pos?? they don't even know what it is, it's always broken, the receipt on request... This year I came back, in July I always took the ice cream cone with cream "3 ice cream scoops plus cream, always paid €4, end of July same ice cream cone 3 ice cream scoops with cream €4.50, I point out that I had always paid €4 and they climb up the mirrors saying that evidently "for 10 times, even herself" they were wrong, but who are they trying to kid, I return at the end of August, always ice cream cone with cream €4.50, the problem is that this time instead of 3 ice cream scoops they put 2, I point out that normally they were 3 ice cream scoops and they arrogantly curse me for a liar "as the people of Tropea very often, always want to be right", he tells me that if I wanted he would put the third scoop even if it wasn't foreseen, I make him put it on, it's not about the money but the mockery The mask is optional, you ask him to put it on "even if they have to put it on by law" but they pretend nothing happened, unfortunately Tropea checks are not carried out, the police were around but nobody was checking

04/05/2025: Restaurant parfait en tous point! Situation, plats de très grande qualité et service toujours irréprochable et surtout avec le sourire.

20/05/2025: We were disappointed after reading the positive reviews. The greeting was not friendly, we were sat on a small table in the corner both looking at a wall. The rest of the restaurant was virtually empty but set out with larger tables. Service was unprofessional and surly. There was no explanation of the menu, and we were asked did we want the pizzeria or restaurant menu - why did we have to choose one or the other? The decor is very hard and brightly lit. The sound is echoing and we heard every word of a conversation at the other side of the room. The staff are unfriendly and don’t smile. My crab pasta was full of whole small crabs, which were inedible. My partner enjoyed his mussels and clams. Overall there was little atmosphere, the staff in the kitchen paid no notice to the customers, they were watching a screen on the pass, and let two young inexperienced individuals struggle. The food was not enjoyable. I told the waiter I wasn’t enjoying it but he just shrugged and walked away. The owners need to consider the customer experience from greeting, ambience, service and food. Edit: The rant below from the owner demonstrates how willing he is to take on feedback. Restaurants are facing tough times and need to take on feedback from customers, not berate them publicly for taking the time to make useful comments. Never mind, there are plenty of lovely restaurants in Tropea.

20/05/2025: I ordered the catch of the day, and it was just as good as I hoped—fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. The only thing missing was some background music to set the mood. Otherwise, everything was spot on!

18/05/2025: Posto incantevole e molto romantico. Ci ë stato consigliato dal signore che ci ospita. Non avevo prenotato ed era tutto pieno. Il signore che prende le prenotazioni ci ha chiesto di tornare in 20 minuti. Ci hanno dato il tavolo e ci siamo subito sentiti coccolati. I due ragazzi argentini che servono, sono molto gentili e competenti. Il menù è molto bello e vario. Tanti piatti, che per noi erano una novità. Tutto estremamente buono , di grande qualità e prezzi adeguati. Complimenti a tutti e tre camerieri e naturalmente un grande elogio alla cucina,. Avete reso il nostro anniversario una serata speciale. :) …non dimenticare: il bacio.

The dishes impress with their highest quality, fresh regional ingredients, and creative yet authentic preparation. We were particularly impressed by the homemade pasta dish with freshly caught fish – delicious and perfectly balanced. The experience was rounded off by an excellent wine selection and the stunning view of the sea. A restaurant that we can recommend with a clear conscience – and one that we will definitely visit again on our next visit to Tropea.
