31/08/2025: Quiet, calm, relaxing place, right by the sea. The hospitality and service are top notch, I recommend it to everyone ❤️

16/08/2025: This beach restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the house where we were staying, almost as if they were in agreement to recruit people. In fact, without even confirming that we would go (we only decided at the last minute as it was close to the accommodation), when we arrived, the table was already set and ready, while the place was completely empty even though it was already 9:30 PM. Once we were seated, the service was generally quite good, although when we asked for sauces and chili pepper, we were almost ignored and had to ask several times despite the place being completely empty. The food overall was nothing special, quite poor quality for a seaside restaurant where you expect excellent seafood, which we didn't get. The icing on the cake, after having paid an exorbitant amount for what we had eaten, was that when we checked the receipt, the number of dishes consumed wasn't listed, only the total food and drinks. So we decided to ask for the details, and it turned out there was an error of almost €20 more. It's not a big deal for the €20, but the whole thing felt like a rip-off. Absolutely not recommended and should be avoided.

19/11/2025: The very poor menu consists of only 3 sandwiches (by the way, none with bacon), chips and drinks... in the classic one the gherkins covered the other flavors, the bread was burnt on the inside, the cheese one was a little better, the one with the horrible chicken... the chicken under the breading was quite raw... we asked if it was possible to cut the sandwiches in two and they said no and they didn't even have a knife to cut it. We traveled 50 km to try these SMASH but honestly it was a very disappointing experience, the place was cold and very dark, on social media there are images of other dishes but in reality they had nothing... I don't understand how it is possible to be in such a busy place and have practically nothing on the menu.

17/11/2025: The worst burger of my life. The meat is incredibly salty, burnt, and so greasy it makes me sick. They serve it in a paper bag after covering the bun with foil, like not even a kebab shop would. Fresh meat and bread used in the worst way imaginable. Never again, not even for free.

24/10/2025: An absolutely excellent lunch, which heightened our joy and made this day even more unforgettable. Thanks guys, you're great!

04/10/2025: Well, what can I say. We went there to have dinner on Wednesday night. We were seated at a nice table, with pretty plates on it. We made our picks from the menu. And then it began. We got some bread and water, which wasn't that bad. We had bean soup, which tasted exactly like canned beans with some tomatoes warmed up in a microwave. I even saw them carry the beans in a box that is used to store and freeze food. We had some meatballs that had literally no taste. They were just plain matter lacking everything. We had potatoes with cheese. Ordinary. We had some sort of meat roll - again no taste whatsoever, just plain matter. The meat wasn't even minced, it was mashed, or smashed or whatever. And as a bonus we were being harassed by stray cats during our stay. This was our first and only time in Amantea when we actually didn't finish our food and left the table. Sorry, but this was really bad.

21/10/2025: I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this time I had to. The table wasn't ready despite the restaurant being half-empty, and the service was confusing and rude: we had to argue with the waiter because he took the order from a table that arrived after us. The food was served quickly, but the prices were truly exorbitant for the quality: €20 for a meaningless appetizer. The only positive note was the entrecôte, which was good and well-cooked, accompanied by fries. Unfortunately, the typical Sila hospitality was lacking here.

12/10/2025: Excellent, super-fresh dishes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Reservations are recommended because the restaurant is (rightly) very popular. Greetings from Crotone and thanks again.

24/10/2025: The mussels... not very fresh, to put it mildly. The rest were average quality. Considering the portion size, it was simply very expensive. The service was okay, but lacked flair and interest. The atmosphere is diminished by the poor food and average service. Maybe it's better in season.

23/08/2025: I won't go back, I was too disappointed.

17/08/2025: Easy to reach. The property is surrounded by greenery, olive trees. Ample parking. As soon as you leave the parking lot, the view opens onto a large, well-kept space with olive trees and a lawn. You can eat both outdoors and indoors. We chose the garden because of the weather. The tables were well-spaced. Our evening was enlivened by live music. The owner, Mr. Franco, was a wonderful host. Excellent and fast service... a special mention goes to the very kind Cecilia, polite and precise in her orders and recommendations... Excellent food, both the pasta dishes and the pizzas. The desserts were excellent. Compliments to all the staff.

15/09/2025: Rude staff, horrible ice cream with a higher price than normal, a terrible experience, it can't even be described, never happened to me in all that I've traveled all over the world, an incredible rudeness.

29/11/2025: Today I visited this place with a friend, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to the staff's lack of professionalism. We had ordered desserts and, not having finished them, politely asked to take them away. At that moment, some staff members began laughing in front of us, a behavior we perceived as disrespectful and impolite. I asked if there was a problem, given their inappropriate behavior, and one employee responded unprofessionally, justifying their behavior by saying they had been working for over ten hours and needed to joke. We didn't even receive an apology for what happened. I believe that, despite tiredness or busy days, staff should maintain a respectful attitude towards customers. Unfortunately, this experience ruined our visit, and I hope the place can improve the quality of its service.

14/11/2025: A good aperitif, especially considering the price. The only downside was that one of the people at our table had to wait over half an hour for a mocha.

27/08/2025: Delicious pizza, well-made. There's a wide variety of pizzas, a spacious and quiet place, and friendly and discreet staff. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant evening away from the chaos of the city.

19/08/2025: Excellent pizza! It's a shame we had to wait over half an hour for a single takeout pizza, and the place was almost empty. Nonetheless, the deliciousness of the pizza made up for the long wait.

16/07/2025: Il ristorante è molto invitante, il personale gentile e cordiale, la "pizza del pizzaiolo" gustosa e originale. Molto accogliente

16/07/2025: Con affaccio sulla spiaggia. Esperienza positivissima! Ottima la pizza. Il pizzaiolo ci ha proposto pizza "corona " con cornicione ripieno. Davvero buonissima! Torneremo ancora per mangiare pesce. Personale gentilissimo Ottimo anche il conto. Lo consiglio.

25/08/2025: The beach with its own restaurant, which I reviewed separately, is welcoming and well-run! Comfortable and affordable! As is the restaurant! It's hard to find a place in August, with such affordable prices and such comprehensive service! Congratulations!

10/08/2025: Never again! For a Greek salad (which didn't even have all the ingredients) more than 50 minutes. Unbelievable. To pay €10 for it with four tomatoes.

29/09/2025: I was there with my family and we had by far the best experience. This restaurant has been operating by the same family for over 100 years.

26/09/2025: Maxbar is an absolute gem in Tropea! The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, you instantly feel at ease. Perfectly located with outstanding service that makes every visit memorable. Huge thanks to Massimo, Evelyn, and the whole team for their wonderful hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning and if you go, don’t miss out on the Jakus Margarita, it’s exceptional!

29/06/2025: If you are looking for a restaurant with a spectacular view, this is the place to be. Unfortunately, the magic ends there. We showed up at the restaurant without a reservation, with the intention of enjoying an aperitif at sunset. The staff sat us at a table. Everything seemed to be going well until another member of staff approached our table with a confused and embarrassed expression. They explained to us, in a hesitant tone, that there had been a mistake and that our table was actually reserved. Their concern was obvious: they did not know how to handle the situation. They did not tell us to leave immediately, but the message was clear: as soon as the real people with reservations arrived, we would have to get up and leave the place. This situation made us uncomfortable. Not only was the mistake theirs, but they unloaded the responsibility for a problem that they should have handled professionally on us. For the rest of the time, we felt unsteady, ready to be "evicted" at any moment. The uncertainty and embarrassment completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. For us, the evening was ruined. The experience was humiliating and the treatment received was unacceptable, especially in a place that presents itself as being of a certain level. The view is not worth the arrogance and lack of professionalism of the staff. I strongly advise against this place to anyone looking not only for a beautiful view, but also a minimum of respect and courtesy.

26/04/2025: Disappointing, out of three pizzas ordered, two were wrong, of which the Margherita with buffalo mozzarella was marked as diavola so it also arrived very spicy.
