11/10/2025: I returned after a year. Authentic, locally sourced food. Very friendly staff. The platters and cheeses are highly recommended.

21/09/2025: Nice little place, though nothing special. Good food, but I'd say the prices are a bit high. The quality-price ratio is poor, but it could be improved.

19/11/2025: We arrived and were greeted by a very Italian gentleman who smelled awful. I think both he and his clothes had been like that for days!!! The atmosphere is sad, it feels like a refectory. The food is appalling. I've never had such a bad meal. I had a traditional soup with 4 chickpeas and 2 lentils in warm water. As I've read in other reviews, if you pay by debit card they won't issue a receipt, requiring your cell phone number, which never arrives. Shut down!!! And now block me here too, since you've already done so on The Fork to avoid further reviews. Scammers!

03/11/2025: A disappointing experience in every way. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:45 PM with a reservation through The Fork, but we didn't start eating until 3:30 PM, after an excessive wait and without any communication or apology from the staff. Furthermore, we had chosen the restaurant for the option to pay with The Fork Pay, but when we received the bill, we were denied the service on the grounds that "the commission is too high for them." I pointed out to the owner that if the service isn't accepted, it shouldn't appear on the app, but was told that "the Fork Pay symbol can't be removed"—a statement that's incorrect, as many other restaurants properly handle this option. As for the food, unfortunately, things didn't go any better: we ordered a carbonara, but were served a plate of trofie that tasted and looked completely different, with a sauce that seemed to be made with milk or Philadelphia. After pointing this out, we were told that "that was their carbonara," with no desire for clarification or customer service. I also wanted to write a review on The Fork today to let people know that this is a place to avoid. My reservation for November 1, 2025, was moved on the app to November 10, 2025 (but I never booked on November 10... it's just a ploy to prevent the customer from writing a review because I won't be eating there that day, and therefore the reservation won't go through). This therefore prevents me from writing a negative review of my lunch on November 1, 2025... I've attached all the screenshots so you can understand. Overall, a very disappointing experience, both in terms of the quality of the service and the food.

21/10/2025: A few tables with a view of the sassis, otherwise it will be a large rustic room "in its own juice". Very good octopus (€20), less luck with the salad.

15/10/2025: The location is extraordinary, with magnificent views of the Sassi of Matera. The service was fast, very correct, and friendly. As for the food, it wasn't bad, considering we were a group of 40 people.

28/11/2025: The price/quality ratio is truly terrible. I strongly advise against it.

04/10/2025: Tourists from Pisa were very dissatisfied with the service. They entered the pizzeria at 8:30 PM for a pizza and left at 11:15 PM.

31/08/2025: A convivial sunset aperitif. Very friendly and attentive staff. Reasonable prices and a beautiful view. I recommend it.

27/11/2025: Terrible, except for one person who saves the day. Today, November 27th, at 2:15 PM, a guy at the drive-thru, after more than 20 minutes of waiting, refused to issue the invoice for my order because it was messed up. I told him I'd leave my information and they could do it directly online, as required by law, but he said no. Besides, I was already registered.

21/11/2025: One of the worst and I was generous in giving it one star...not to mention how cold it is inside the place with the two broken and wide open doors...in November seeing people eating with their jacket hoods on their heads...everything is terrible including the rude staff.

27/09/2025: Eeeeeepic, everything is delicious, with sweet and savory options. Expensive? Mmmmmmdah, somewhere in between, it's worth it. The only danger is that every time you pass by, you'll want to try something else.

14/09/2025: A well-organized and well-maintained bakery. You can purchase a variety of baked goods. Try the stuffed focaccias.

10/09/2025: Everything was delicious! Especially the pizza with local sausage, incredible! The owners were very kind and professional. Thank you, thank you... we'll definitely be back.

04/09/2025: Poor quality food!!! The sales assistant was hysterical. When I pointed out that I hadn't received the cake we'd ordered—the one I was counting on, since the rest was terrible—she sent me packing... Go somewhere else in Maratea, there are so many excellent places with decent people.

06/09/2025: A refined, elegant place with exquisite food. I add, referring to those who don't like it or those who get up and leave, with the excuse of having chosen the wrong place: go somewhere else that suits you, it's better! Octopus walled EXCELLENT!!!!! I confirm everything again, returned on September 24, EVERYTHING EXCELLENT! And I confirm again: August 31, 25, the excellence continues........in the face of some envious people...thanks again, September 6, 25

22/08/2025: I was here for dinner in August, we opted for a first course with red prawns and a second course with cod, the quality of the products was average, the plating was careful and the service was courteous but we found the prices exaggerated compared to the products and services and the general average of the Maratea restaurants!

20/09/2025: Seven dinners in September. No waiting, lots of delicious, high-quality pizzas. The mixed fried fish was also delicious. Thank you so much, Mara, for your kindness and hospitality.

22/11/2025: We stopped here for lunch, we had two soups and the cannelloni. The food should have been hotter as it was tiepid.

09/11/2025: We only stopped for a coffee, which honestly wasn't bad, but the service was slow and it cost €2.50 for a sit-down meal. You pay for being inside the Sassi of Matera, and for the tourists who come and go.

14/10/2025: The opening hours are fake. Arrived 10am and not opening tho the sign said it’s open

13/09/2025: After we'd consumed four bottles of wine, a man simply announced he was closing and rudely removed our glasses and chairs, telling us we should leave because he wanted to close. All the other places were open. He's truly rude. I recommend you try somewhere else.

25/10/2025: I'm giving it a 1 because you can't give a 0 (or in our case, even less). I can't rate either the food or the drinks because, due to the absolutely rude, aggressive, unpleasant, and completely unprofessional behavior (and completely gratuitous), we left, avoiding (most likely what would have happened) the terrible food and drinks. Incidentally, the name of the place is now Maracuja. One wonders how places like this, run like this, manage to stay open. We later discovered they have a terrible reputation throughout Matera. Perhaps that's why they changed the name to Maracuja, so that people looking for reviews wouldn't find them. Stay away, and any other place in Matera will be better off.

22/10/2025: 8 euros for a couple of drinks and then a fight to use the toilets - not very impressed
