25/12/2023: The Service was quick and efficient but they should say that if you have a proper spirit in your drink it’s 3 euro extra!!! No one said it when we ordered. Hugo was 12 euro and for two with st German I paid 30….. because it was an with st German I was told at the till…

15/03/2024: Prezzi eccessivi, qualità scarsa. Più di 5 € per una granita con brioche ( quest'ultima non commestibile, se l'avessi lanciata al muro sarebbe rimbalzata) il locale offre tavoli all'interno e all'esterno peccato che quelli all'esterno sono circondati da colombe che salgono pure sui tavoli.

13/10/2023: We came to Stromboli by boat for the afternoon. Our captain recommended Da Giovanni. We ordered a pizza alla Norma and an octopus salad. The octopus was tender and tasty. The pizza!!! The crust was so light and delicious we ate the entire pizza. I highly recommend!!

09/10/2023: finalmente dopo 2 anni dall'ultima visita siamo tornati a stromboli, e uno dei motivi per cui siamo tornati è certamente la spettacolare pizza di Giovanni. Materie prime di eccelsa qualità, prezzi ottimi e sopratutto la grande cortesia e gentilezza di Giovanni, che ci ha anche offerto una Malvasia bio e a chiusura locale si è intrattenuto in una piacevole chiacchierata!

18/02/2024: We leave the sufficiency, because quality of raw materials and quantity are superior to 3 stars, but cuisine 3, and the penalty goes to the surprise of the bill, given the absence of menu... 3 starters (vegetables and cheese) at €20 each , house wine and 2 first courses for 3 (vegetables and sausage) for €37 per person...really too much, without fish and with limited wine, without even offering you killer coffee. There were only us... in short, full bellies, but I wouldn't go back... we felt a little cheated on the price, because we were there by chance and without choices. Thank you

17/12/2023: Non mi piace scrivere recensioni negative perchè capisco che dietro ogni attività ci sono delle persone che fanno sacrifici e che ci vivono ma è impensabile, oggi, col livello della ristorazione che si è alzato vertiginosamente vivere delle esperienze culinarie così scadenti. Cominciamo dal fatto che non esiste un menù, non vi è alcuna scelta se non quello che il titolare ti illustra sommariamente. Antipasti ricchi per quantità ma decisamente scarsi per qualità, il piatto peggiore un prosciutto cotto arrosto e dei pezzi di salame assolutamente da supermercato, che non è esattamente quello che ti aspetti nella valle dell’Alcantara. Una tuma piastrata molliccia e con una panatura umida (probabilmente prodotto surgelato e tempi di scongelamento/cottura non rispettati a dovere) Della pasta non parlo perché non l’ho assaggiata, ma fa parte di un menù fisso e non c’è, o quanto meno non ci è stata prospettata, alcuna possibilità di scelta. Passiamo al secondo: Anche quì non si sa cosa arriverà al tavolo avendo sommariamente detto “grigliata mista”. Buone le polpette nelle foglie di limone, pessima la carne dura e cotta eccessivamente, senza alcuna marezzatura con un condimento pieno di aglio e prezzemolo quasi a volerne coprire il sapore, pessima pure l’idea di servire le fette di carne già tagliate a metà. Completavano il piatto un nodo di salsiccia ed un involtino senza infamia e senza lode. Rapporto qualità/prezzo a dir poco vergognoso!! Nessuno degli 8 commensali ha mangiato sia primo che secondo ma tutti hanno optato per due portate, 5 persone antipasti e primo, 3 persone antipasti e secondo, un vino patronale (da 2€ al Litro) due coca cola e due acqua abbiamo pagato 35 euro a persona. Considerato che era un menù fisso senza possibilità di scelta è un prezzo assolutamente ingiustificato. A Catania, con quei soldi hai ben altra scelta e ben altri livelli di servizio e di cucina. Avrebbe potuto farsi perdonare offrendo i caffè (consuetudine consolidata nei ristoranti di Catania, nessuno si sogna di segnare i caffè a fine pasto) ed invece abbiamo pagato i caffè. Consiglio al titolare di girare per i ristoranti, di osservare, di andare a mangiare da suoi colleghi e fare tesoro di nuove esperienze culinarie in modo da rinnovare una concezione di ristorazione vetusta e fuori mercato. Unica lode il ragazzo in sala gentilissimo e cordiale.

19/08/2023: Nice place, with very kind staff and a well-kept aperitif with lots of variety at a super competitive cost. Recommended for those who are in the Alcantara gorge area for shows and want to have an aperitif/dinner.

26/10/2023: A lovely little restaurant with friendly service. We had the bruschetta which was the best we had had all week followed by lasagna. Both perfect. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and the prices were very reasonable.

26/03/2024: Restaurant located in the central area, i.e. in the main street of Taormina (unfortunately the only advantage identified) Overall, a clean and well-furnished restaurant, located in a nice area, also offering a terrace overlooking the sea; Too bad about everything else... spaghetti with clams, paid at a good restaurant price, but served truly without taste, rather than a plate of spaghetti with clams I would have compared it to plain pasta... disappointing! Unprofessional room service.. it's work, okay! But if you don't like it, better not do it, you can't sulk all the time! A minimum fake smile at least!

17/03/2024: I often went with friends and with mum and dad. Excellent pizza, food, courtesy and quality. Excellent prices and spectacular location, in the center of Taormina. I have to go back with mom and my puppy.👍

23/09/2023: L'hotel si trova a pochi passi dalla via principale. È immerso nella pace e offre una bella piscina per potersi rilassare. La colazione è molto buona. La camera l'ho trovata un po' troppo spartana ma comunque era molto pulita. Alla reception non mi sono state fornite indicazioni su cosa fare o dove andare per visitare l'isola ma, al di là di questo, il personale è sempre stato cortese.

Unfortunately, a waiter never came by again after the meal and we had to look for someone to pay... it's a shame... the food was otherwise delicious.
