21/07/2026: The prices are too high, not justified by the quality of the products. The granita is average, while the brioche was reheated, stringy, and poorly risen. A €10 Spritz is served with a minimal amount of chips, peanuts, and olives. Furthermore, there was no one at the cash register when we paid. It's a historic bar that, unfortunately, seems to have remained stagnant over time.

07/07/2026: We were at this bar this afternoon. My girlfriend ordered a portion of schiacciata for a snack (it was the middle of the afternoon). While we waited, they didn't even provide us with a glass of water; I had to ask for it while she was eating, otherwise it would never have arrived. The portion she was served wasn't even suitable for a snack. Presumably for profit, they serve very large portions. So I had to help her finish it. The quality of what I ate was rather mediocre, even cheap. But what surprised me most was the price: €7.50. For a piece of focaccia. We're literally talking about the price of a Margherita pizza. Had it been a quality product and accompanied by impeccable service, I might have understood. But spending €7.50 for a piece of schiacciata accompanied by a glass of tap water (which isn't even served by default)—no thanks.

I arrive at 7:00 pm (with the bar empty!) and I ask them if we can have some toast in 10 minutes for two little girls because we had the hydrofoil and they tell us that there are no problems, at 7:15 pm we start to ask (the hydrofoil left at 7:30 pm), at 7:20 pm we ask again and (not noticing my husband) they say - verbatim - "this guy is breaking our balls today" a completely inappropriate language, they deliver the toast to us only at 7:25 pm to take away obviously and delivered in a scandalous way (my 10 year old daughter knows better how to prepare a simple cheese toast!), another very sore point was the manager's response to my request, I'm celiac what flavor of ice cream can I have? none!!! they are all contaminated, without courtesy/tactlessness and above all without offering me any alternative, I definitely won't go back again! I advise you to equip yourself with "kindness" the same things if handled with kindness could change everything

11/10/2025: Maurizio was very kind and welcoming. The caponata was the best I've tasted in the Aeolian Islands, and the stuffed squid with sauce was wonderful! Thank you.

05/10/2025: For the owner alone this restaurant is worth a visit. Such a lovely and engaging man, who spoke Italian, English and German with us. The food is delicious and though on the pricier side, portion size and quality justify it. We had the best seafood noodles here. (Sadly I only have a photo of the empty shells)

09/07/2026: After visiting Taormina mid-morning and spending the afternoon in Isola Bella, we decided on the way back to the car to visit Taormina again to have their famous cannoli at Pasticceria Roberto and then have a drink before returning to Catania. There were so many people, and the restaurants and bars were packed. We were about to leave without ordering anything, but then we stumbled upon this place that surprisingly had very few people. There were four adults and two children. We went in, sat down at some tables, and after a while, the waiter came. One of the children had gone to the bathroom, and I took advantage of the opportunity and went just as the waiter arrived. When I came out of the bathroom, I saw the waiter talking to the others, and when I started telling him what we wanted to order—an Aperol Spritz, some beers, water, a Coke—the waiter gave us the dinner menu. We told him we weren't going to have dinner, just drinks. He replied that he couldn't serve us what we were ordering because, since it was dinner time, you either eat or have a drink, but it all had to be cocktails. We responded that we wouldn't order anything then, basically because... There were two children, and I don't drink alcohol... and we were leaving... to which the waiter replied that two of us had used the restroom, wasting water and toilet paper, and that he had to charge us... we were stunned, but we still asked how much we had to pay... and he said €5... I've never in my life had it cost me so much to relieve myself... we paid the €5 and left... NO WONDER THE PLACE WAS ALMOST EMPTY WHEN ALL THE OTHERS WERE PACKED... it's the first time in my life that someone in a bar has told me what to drink... oh... and another thing... the waiter implied that we came in to go straight to the bathroom and intended to leave... which isn't true... at least not in our case... if we only wanted to use the restroom, we would have gone to the cable car restrooms, which are a 5-minute walk away and on our way to the parking lot where we had the car.

12/04/2026: 3,5€ for a bagel and a Cornetto I think I got scammed its much cheaper elsewhere. The waiters seemed nice the boss made the payment processing. Apparently open until 2 but when I played at 1 the boss was annoyed
