14/07/2025: Tourist restaurant. Small portions at prices you wouldn't even see in Piazza Duomo. The dishes, in my opinion, aren't typical of a trattoria. I definitely don't recommend them.

26/05/2025: Outdoor aperitif. The bar is located in front of the sea promenade, the outside is spacious and comfortable. We had various cocktails with appetizers (classics) and some filled sandwiches. Everything was very soft. I would have expected something more. The staff is friendly but a little awkward, they were young guys.. but willing 💪

11/05/2025: I'm really sorry that I can't give a higher rating, but there were some flaws, certainly unintentional, that somewhat characterized the lunch spent at Demetra! First of all, it must be said that the place is very large, welcoming and during the summer it also offers outdoor spaces! The negative aspect is the difficulty of parking nearby! The staff was also very kind and helpful and I am sure that there will be no shortage of opportunities to return (perhaps to try some of the wonderful meats on display) and review this opinion positively! As for the sore points, unfortunately there were some misunderstandings with the service and in the kitchen: the starters were served quickly and, especially the caponata, they turned out very good! On the first courses (which were then the main course), however, there must have been some problems, because they took a long time to come out and what's more, one was asked to be well cooked and was served to the limits of chewiness, so much so that it was left almost whole, while in another the pasta arrived overcooked (a shame because the ragù wasn't bad)! It was also asked if it was possible to prepare a chicken cutlet for a child, but it was admitted that the order had been completely forgotten and had to be asked again! In other areas it would seem postponed to September, but I hope to return earlier and have confirmation that it was just an isolated episode!

04/08/2025: Welcoming and quaint place, the owner is kind and helpful. Small pastries, ricotta cannoli, almond paste, croissants, and pignolata are truly delicious. The granita with cream and brioche is excellent!! 🥐

04/08/2025: Granita used to be delicious, but not anymore. Prices skyrocket, and the staff making granitas is inadequate. It seems like this new guy is making granita for the first time. He doesn't even know how to wrap them because they opened in the car on the way. And he doesn't even mix them well before serving them; perhaps he's afraid of mistreating them. It's a shame, but this was my third attempt, and today I got poisoned again. The decline begins.

20/06/2025: The place is very nice, it seems clean, although there was no water in the bathroom. I paid 4 euros for a brioche with ice cream; I found it expensive. I will not return.

30/07/2025: Revestido aquí de nuevo después de nuestra última visita hace 3 años, y recomendaría a cualquiera que quiera comer aquí para probar su comida y bebidas. El propietario reconoció de inmediato cuando nos vio en nuestra noche de 1 calle de vuelta en Taormina después de una brecha de 3 años. nos recibió como amigos perdidos hace mucho tiempo y era muy hablador y nos dio la bienvenida allí. Magdalana nos reconoció también y tuvimos una buena charla mientras placiong nuestra orden con ella. Ambiente muy relajado allí y todo el personal allí es cálido y tranquilo. La comida es buena y los precios muy razonables también, nuestros amigos que estaban con nosotros también quedaron impresionados con la comida y los precios. tampoco te apuran así que te sientas, comes, bebes y te relajas sin que te apuren.

29/07/2025: Girando per i vicoletti , abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante ordinando dei secondi carne ( involtini e filetto ) veramente dí eccellente qualità. Serviti dal proprietario e dai collaboratori attenti e disponibili .

24/05/2025: Stopped in for a quick bite after a walk in Taormina. The service was great lovely waitress. It’s on a busy corner so people watching is great. The food was good as were the pastries and coffee. Good spot to stop

27/04/2025: Il nostro porto sicuro una volta uscite da lavoro…e ancora prima di entrarci! Con la loro gentilezza allietano le nostre giornate, per non parlare poi dei loro prodotti di qualità , personalmente ho un debole per i loro arancini!

03/08/2025: È vergognoso: non avevo mai mangiato una granita così disgustosa. Abbiamo ordinato una granita ai gelsi e alla pesca, e già alla vista faceva presagire il peggio. Ho provato prima quella ai gelsi: immangiabile. Poi la pesca, altrettanto insapore e intensa solo di coloranti: una vera vergogna. La rabbia per una colazione rovinata all’intera famiglia è stata tale che non ho potuto fare a meno di segnalarlo ai responsabili. Forse ho esagerato definendo la granita “schifosa”, ma, sinceramente, non ho percepito nulla di diverso.

21/07/2025: 5 of us ordered wine. Our 3 kids came in with gelatto. They kicked us out. Really bad customer service. Not family friendly. Plenty of better places around. Look them up.

31/07/2025: At this bar, you can find the REAL granita from Messina. The owners, friendly, smiling, and kind, offer a product that's almost impossible to find in new-generation bars and ice cream parlors anymore. I personally had a peach granita with cream and brioche. #chetelodicobarre
