03/01/2026: We sat for over 40 minutes without anyone taking our order. When we finally did, we had to leave before they brought our order, and despite everything, we still paid a cover charge for NO service. The quality of the pizza was terrible, so much so that it was unfortunately thrown in the garbage, and it was ridiculously small (about 4 cm in diameter). The Pidone was very good. It's a shame because you expect more from a historic place like Doddis.

27/12/2025: An Aperol Spritz and a non-alcoholic drink with chips, taralli, olives, and peanuts; total €19! It's not like they were gold-plated! The bill also included a "cover charge," but we weren't served enough cutlery and cloth napkins to justify the price. As locals, we recommend NOT going there. The furnishings are particularly dated, the paper menus are wrinkled and stained, and the staff is inattentive to the customer. Clear signs of a lack of professionalism.

28/10/2025: It's a wonderful restaurant with excellent Italian cuisine, very friendly staff, good wine, and a lovely atmosphere. Nothing to say, just highly recommended. We always love coming back. The best place in all of Taormina.

22/08/2025: Unfortunately, my "non-experience" was negative! At 9:30 PM in the middle of August, they were no longer serving anything except arancini, which, unfortunately, not everyone liked! What a shame!

02/09/2025: The lady at the counter was disarmingly rude and impolite. The granita was nothing special, but I understand that the woman at the counter could have had a bad day... but with that attitude, she's making it bad for everyone else, too! Change jobs, it's not the right fit for you.

03/01/2026: Unacceptable and Discriminatory Behavior During my stay, I witnessed openly offensive and discriminatory comments directed at people from Catania, made by local customers. The most serious thing is that Giulio, a bar staff member, did not intervene in any way and openly agreed with those customers, allowing derogatory comparisons and stereotypes (such as the derogatory comparison of Catanese to Neapolitans) to be easily normalized. As a Catanese, I felt directly affected and deeply offended. A place that tolerates—or worse, ignores—this type of behavior lacks professionalism and respect for its customers. A terrible experience on a human level. I will not return, and I do not recommend the place to anyone expecting even a modicum of civility.

12/11/2025: We bought a black and white cake, which we didn't like because the rum flavour prevailed over the rest of the ingredients, and unfortunately we weren't warned about the presence of the liqueur. It's the first cake that contains liqueur and, compared to other cake shops, the price per kg is too high.

11/10/2025: Maurizio was very kind and welcoming. The caponata was the best I've tasted in the Aeolian Islands, and the stuffed squid with sauce was wonderful! Thank you.

05/10/2025: For the owner alone this restaurant is worth a visit. Such a lovely and engaging man, who spoke Italian, English and German with us. The food is delicious and though on the pricier side, portion size and quality justify it. We had the best seafood noodles here. (Sadly I only have a photo of the empty shells)

07/10/2025: Unbeatable coffee and fresh cream gelato. Also try the schiudono, still gelato but with something different. Definitely worth it. Artisans for three generations.

30/09/2025: We launched our Sicilian breakfast right here. Excellent granita and brioche, exquisite hospitality, and a truly friendly atmosphere. If you're in Messina, it's worth a stop!
