15/09/2025: We stumbled upon this lovely place in a side alley off of the main drag in Taormina. The food was amazing. The braised beef melted in your mouth. A hidden gem!

02/09/2025: Located away from the crowd we though we found the perfect place for dinner. Little did we (me, my wife and daughters) know that we weren't welcome. With several tables outside free we asked the waiter for one. That's when the "big" guy told the waiter, in Italian, that "they(!) can only get a table inside". So all of a sudden all tables outside was reserved. What he didn't know was my wife speaks Italian, so she heard it all. Discrimination is ugly. Stay away from this place, at least if you planned to bring your kids.

10/06/2025: Beautiful, elegant, expensive, the food is good, a perfect mix if you want to relax and enjoy great food.

26/05/2025: Outdoor aperitif. The bar is located in front of the sea promenade, the outside is spacious and comfortable. We had various cocktails with appetizers (classics) and some filled sandwiches. Everything was very soft. I would have expected something more. The staff is friendly but a little awkward, they were young guys.. but willing 💪

08/09/2025: 2009–17 Good pastry shop, albeit expensive. It's worth checking out here and trying, for example, the setteveli, which is not bad, and the babà; the other assortment of sweets is excellent. At the same time, the ice cream is very ordinary, and the service is unpleasant. Be prepared to pay more than usual. 2025. I've visited this bar a couple of times recently. I didn't like it at all. The almond granita had a bad taste, the brioche was so-so, and the cappuccino smelled of the specific smell of shelf-stable milk, which also interrupted the aroma of the coffee. At the same time, the prices are high. 7.20 euros for: bad granita without cream, old brioche, cappuccino and croissant. Also, the smell of tobacco smoke when eating and drinking inside the establishment. Tasteless and expensive. Not recommended.

02/09/2025: Granita with Special Brioche. Kindness, friendliness, and cordiality, and above all, exceptional products. Well done!

04/10/2025: We were very disappointed: • Poor and careless food – the Caprese salad (€10) was just two sliced tomatoes with a few pieces of mozzarella and no dressing at all (see photo). • Long waiting time, even though the place was not busy. • Huge “Pizza” sign outside, but they only serve pizza in the evening – very misleading! • Absolutely not worth the price. • Only positive point: the water was nicely chilled. Definitely not recommended.

01/10/2025: Stopped for an end of night wine and cannolo. Great prices, fast service, no frills. Looks intimidating as it's very local, but it's open to all!

02/09/2025: The lady at the counter was disarmingly rude and impolite. The granita was nothing special, but I understand that the woman at the counter could have had a bad day... but with that attitude, she's making it bad for everyone else, too! Change jobs, it's not the right fit for you.

02/09/2025: The sea-view terrace is nice, but the quality of the products is poor, and the prices are very high for the quality of the products and service. The owners always seem angry and don't know how to welcome customers. The place is a no-go.

30/09/2025: We launched our Sicilian breakfast right here. Excellent granita and brioche, exquisite hospitality, and a truly friendly atmosphere. If you're in Messina, it's worth a stop!

11/09/2025: Cute bar. Great selection of drinks. They have absolutely everything. Nice atmosphere. Cocktails average €13. Beer is €8 (quite expensive).

09/09/2025: 3.5 is not reflective of this hidden gem. Bam Bar is a tourist trap joke. Come here, unplug and enjoy a real experience. We came for lunch, then came again for a glass of wine to end the day. Perfetto!

31/07/2025: At this bar, you can find the REAL granita from Messina. The owners, friendly, smiling, and kind, offer a product that's almost impossible to find in new-generation bars and ice cream parlors anymore. I personally had a peach granita with cream and brioche. #chetelodicobarre
