24/04/2025: Estuvimos parando en Varenna por unas noches, así que usamos la extensa red de ferrys para visitar más pueblos alrededor del lago que incluía este en mennagio. Hermoso lugar con este café que tenía asientos al aire libre con vistas a la plaza pavimentada. Tuvimos un peroni cada uno a € 5 , luego un panini de jamón & ensalada de queso a € 7 cada uno servido por personal amable.

22/04/2025: Buen restaurante con precio razonable, verduras frescas hizo todo mejor. Fuimos a Menaggio coincidencia y luego encontramos este lugar.

29/06/2025: Chiediamo di mangiare dentro la veranda aspettandosi di trovare un ambiente condizionato e sopratutto senza insetti, invece le porte della veranda erano aperte e c'erano le mosche, inoltre per condizionare c era solo uno solito che ovviamente non poteva lavorare bene con le porte aperte. Il campari spritz era annaffiato, Io ho preso il menu sacro monte a 40 euro, antipasto misero, composto da verdure grigliate e qualche fetta di salume locale. Il risotto con fiori di zucca e guanciale era buonissimo, il resto da dimenticare. Personale in sala abbastanza gentile e disponibile. magari in inverno sarebbe stata un esperienza migliore, mentre mangiavo ero costretto a soffiarmi con il ventaglio.

15/06/2025: bella location, personale cordiale e attento alle esigenze degli ospiti, sempre gentili e premurosi. Buona la qualità del cibo, porzioni da ristorante...... per essere perfetto dovrebbe costare un po meno. Uno neo rapporto qualità prezzo......

28/03/2025: Un locale che potrebbe essere carino ma assolutamente non pulito e soprattutto tutto il personale poco gentile, arrogante e presuntuoso. Sono spesso a Crema ma in questo locale non ci metterò mai più piede (e spero vivamente che il titolare mi dia una risposta a questa recensione così ne sente delle belle) . Entrato per prendere un cappuccino e una brioche, mentre stavo guardando il banco mi sono sentito dire: se si siede perché sta lì in piedi? Ho risposto semplicemente che volevo scegliere le brioches e la risposta è stata: le può scegliere anche stando seduto. Ho chiesto un cappuccino ben caldo ed era tiepido e in più il piattino della brioche era assolutamente troppo piccolo e la brioche tutta fuori dal piattino. Pessimo!

19/01/2025: Terribile è un complimento....se potessi non darei neanche una stella, i miei hanno comprato una torta che appena abbiamo portato a casa e aperto era stantia e con sapore di vecchio. L'indomani siamo tornati a far presente che la torta era immangiabile. Il titolare con modo arrogante e spocchioso si è totalmente rifiutato di cambiarci la torta. Noi abbiamo buttato 20 euro ma lui ha perso tanti clienti dal momento che sia io sia la mia famiglia e amici non ci torneremo mai più....siete inqualificabili!!!! Inoltre il locale è molto sporco.....

30/05/2025: First , a group of girls and I had stood in line waiting to order . We watched everyone else get help but us. Then when it came to us he walked off and it was until we found someone else to get help. All the tables were dirty and we were trying to find an area to sit at. That is when we decided to sit on the cushioned chair. Shortly after a worker began to scream at us for sitting there and yelled for us to sit in the chairs . One of my friends stood up to take off their back packs off. The waiter came over, picked up the chair slamming it to the ground and yelled sit . Never will I come back again for a pastry and service that are lacking and leaves a bad taste in the mouth .

17/06/2025: I go into the bar to buy a bottle of water, I go to the cashier and the lady rudely says to me: Are you paying with a card??? (as if I were paying in sesterces) I reply that yes, I pay with a card. She looks at me and then starts typing the numbers on the POS and talks as if to herself: sure... pay 1.50 with a card... At which point I say to her: is there a problem? And she is not happy: she pays for my water with a card... I reply that it is still money and that if she has to do me a favor by selling me a product that has a stratospheric markup (1.50€ per bottle, the small one) she can keep it. At which point I leave. Two considerations: if you have a commercial establishment like a bar, you must always be accommodating with customers, because without them your business closes. If the fees are too high for card payments for small amounts, please point it out to me politely and display a nice sign stating that below a certain amount you cannot pay with the POS. Just be kind and things magically change.

10/05/2025: My 9th month pregnant wife comes in and politely asks to go to the bathroom before ordering. The lady at the counter tells her that she has to order first otherwise she can't use the bathroom. My wife explains that she has an emergency and will then calmly order. Nothing to do. We went to another bar but where has humanity gone? What a shame

14/07/2025: The barmaids are always pissed off...never a smile...how sad...the Capuccis don't know how to do it...no! No!

14/04/2025: Never again.... after having witnessed a scene on Sunday 13th April from the elderly lady with glasses (always rude) towards one of her colleagues. She was really rude and mean and then in front of the customers. Bad example for those who are learning. We customers at the cash register felt really uncomfortable. From regular customer to lost customer. It's a shame because the coffee is very good but it's who is behind the counter who makes the difference.

09/07/2025: I'm reluctant to give this place a terrible review, even though I consider it a very pleasant establishment in our city. In addition to (in my opinion) exaggerated price increases in recent months, we experienced a very unpleasant experience due to poor service. Despite specifically asking the waitress not to give any food to our dog, she still acted against our wishes. The result: the dog has stomach and intestinal problems, causing serious discomfort for both him and us. I no longer enjoy going there.

27/06/2025: 16 pastries (cannoli) €32, €2 each for all the pastries, little choice and very expensive. Breakfast costs almost as much as lunch... not much parking.

20/07/2025: I should have seen the reviews before I go. There are many restaurants around. I ordered a salad and my husband a pasta. Pasta was small, not enough to satisfy him. My salad was like 1 minute made salad (somebody opened a package of leaves in a dish and another package of smoked salmon on the top. And the price was similar to the others in the area.

14/08/2025: Il City Cafe si trova alla fine di via Dante. Non è molto grande ma si trova sulla strada pedonale. Questo piccolo ristorante ha prezzi accessibili e offre paninetti molto italiani! È anche possibile ordinare piatti di carne o pesce. Per dessert si può ovviamente prendere gelato o cappuccino!!

23/07/2025: Another sad case of getting fooled for not reading the reviews first. A smooth talking waiter lured us to sit at one of the caffe tables. My wife said she wanted an ice cream. He directed her to a window where the ice creams - and the prices - were displayed. She ordered a pistachio ice cream listed at 8 Euro. ( a bit expensive, we thought , but we wanted to treat her) When the bill came, we were charged … 17 Euros. We asked the waiter and he said that 8 euros was the price if we had ordered at the window. As we ordered from him there was another price in another book ( that he told us we should have asked for ???) We travelled to Bolzano and to Merano and never had any such cheap trick pulled on us in any restaurant. For a few extra Euros, do the Dante cafe realize they give a bad name to an entire industry in a certain country ? And the worst of it, they carry the name of the greatest Italian poet. They should change their name to cafe Zanni in order to match their practices.

23/07/2025: Like many reviews on here, we got took by the offers at the table. It is a tourist trap and like others on here took the L offered. But our coke was like 4 cokes normally at $3.50€ each so the $17€ is ok if you can drink 4 cokes…lol. Food was very good (2/3 as mine was ok) but also bit on the add ons offered, another $32€ which isn’t really worth it. And the location was great on the patio looking at a 600 year old castle. If you stay at a regular drink and don’t add garlic toast and cheese the price is the same. Be aware of the upgrades they offer and lunch will be a normal price and of good quality.

16/08/2025: Ideal for Tesla stops. Very close. Arrived at opening time. Very good cappuccino. Nice little fruit bowl. Plenty of choices for breakfast or lunch. Outdoor terrace and all the shops in the center :) Luckily it wasn't open yet :) Restrooms nearby and clean at that time.

12/08/2025: 5 euros for a few pieces of poorly peeled, unripe melon... Shameful
