18/03/2026: This pastry shop and café was right beside our accommodation in Rome, and we had our morning coffees and pastries here every day - it was so good we didn't want to go anywhere else. The staff was super friendly, the pastries super tasty, and the coffee heavenly. Thanks guys for making our Rome stay sweet 😋

08/03/2026: An aperitif with two glasses of wine, a mini bowl of nachos, and a bowl of peanuts cost €18. As if that weren't enough, the wine glasses were so dirty we had to send them back. I'd say the quality stops at the pastries, which are obviously expensive.

22/03/2026: We went for lunch, a place I've known for many years and it's always a sure thing, so congratulations to the entire Taverna Mari team. The atmosphere is beautiful and everything is meticulously cared for, starting with the kitchen, whose dishes are well-crafted with quality ingredients... truly excellent; the service was impeccable, timely, and friendly. We were truly pampered from the start. I can only describe this experience as very, very pleasant, like every time I go. I highly recommend trying this restaurant, and if you go, definitely try the exquisite desserts, especially the caramel apple cake. Thanks again, see you soon, Taverna Mari ❤️. 23/02/2026: A very disappointing experience, especially due to the owner's attitude. We ordered cacio e pepe, clearly specifying that no pepper be added because it was intended for little girls. In other restaurants, they always specify whether the sauce is pre-made and therefore inevitably spicy; here, however, we were assured that they wouldn't add pepper. The result? An inedible dish, so spicy that little girls couldn't eat it. The waitress kindly insisted on remaking the pasta. A gesture we appreciated at the time, interpreting it as a way to correct the mistake. For this reason, we assumed the new dish was a thoughtful apology for the inconvenience. Instead, to our surprise, we found the dish properly added to the bill. When we pointed this out, the owner reacted rudely and unprofessionally, resolving the situation with argumentativeness rather than helpfulness and courtesy. Mistakes can happen to anyone, but it's how you handle them that makes the difference. Unfortunately, in this case, customer service was lacking. We won't be coming back.

23/10/2025: Hello, if you're standing in front of an empty restaurant like we were last week, go in! It was absolutely delicious! The pinsa and the homemade pasta were really well made. Highly recommended. Including drinks, we spent just under €20 per person. The two gentlemen were very nice and served us well.

The food was very well prepared and high quality. Highly recommended in the center of Rome. The waiter was incredibly friendly. We were delighted with the experience.

14/03/2026: #toast 618 + 623 — popular brunch cafe in Rome. I would say it’s definitely a more Aussie style of brunch. food was a bit on the saltier end for our liking and a bit dry but their bread was lovely. we waited for around 30 minutes during the weekend and it was a nice afternoon spent at Barnum. the seatings were quite spaced out so it made for nice conversation / privacy!
