31/08/2024: Feeling jet lagged and needing sleep I was ready for a clean, filling meal. I sat outside & after a brief look at the menu I ordered the seared mackerel fillets on chard. Now, Mackerel is a generally a large fish, I’ve caught them before, and yes usually they’re cut into steaks but hey, maybe they fillet them here, either way it still sounded substantial as a Secondo. The waitress was a bit taken back that I didn’t want anything else, and that I knew what I wanted so soon. I was then left with an empty table until the meal was ready to be served when there was a rush to set the table. Then the real disappointment began. There were slivers of fish atop a small green pile. How someone didn’t throw this fish back is beyond me, but they managed to scrape off a few tiny fillets, then fry them to death & lay them on top of the soggy greens. I was shocked that this is their idea of secondo, however I did push on with the dream of sleep so near. To cut the fish was a toll in itself, so dry having been cooked for far too long. And would you believe no seasoning at all. Actually nothing. The chard (I think that’s what they called the green pile underneath), also completely void of any flavour. This is by far, hands down the least satisfying meal of my life. Overcooked, tasteless and tiny. Oh and to top it off, it was €19.50 for the displeasure. There are many, many restaurants in Rome. I’d suggest trying any other one for a better experience.

23/08/2024: The food here is very tasty, the cost was super reasonable even in euros. We ordered the carbonara, fettuccine Gamberi & zucchini - ( has shrimp) in it. Was very good 👍 the bread was tasty.

18/08/2024: A delightful and different place than usual. Excellent both in company and alone, you can spend a moment of relaxation and quality. The environment is wonderful and creates an almost homely atmosphere. I highly recommend.

08/08/2024: A splendid and magical place! The owners Chicca and Mauro were kind and also prepared a vegetarian menu on the fly. High cuisine and service. Abundant and delicious first courses, chicory, cream soup, many delicious vegetables and legumes in various sauces. The desserts are all homemade by them. Centerpiece with splendid flowers and plants. When I return to Formello I already know where to eat. The two owners were really great, they pampered us. The food is plentiful, homemade, you feel at home, welcomed with friendliness and warmth. I had a pistachio without meat with fresh pasta and a friend of mine had tonnarelli with cherry tomatoes, chicory and farinello (wild spinach, excellent. The atmosphere and location are wonderful, and the location is evocative and intimate. House red wine, excellent too. Honest prices, considering the quality of the dishes, made with love and with products that seemed to have just been picked from the garden. I advise the owners to perfect the vegan choice. The inn is located in the center of the town of Formello in front of the town hall. The place is original. For those who cycle, there is also a way to park their bikes in sight.

05/08/2024: We arrived in Formello from the Via Francigena and we couldn't have found a better place. We came across this little place during a screening of a theater show in the square. We felt part of their community in less than 1 hour of staying. The two owners were really great, they pampered us... at the end of dinner it felt like we were talking to two old friends. We hope to meet them again and very soon! The food is plentiful, homemade and you absolutely cannot ask for anything better! Thank you so much guys.

10/08/2024: I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a bar in the area. Very nice staff and every time we received a gift in the form of a slice of salami and olives. I note that they have the best smoothies. Everything is reasonably priced 👌👌👌

03/08/2024: They are friendly and the food is delicious. First of all, the homemade tomato sauce was delicious, and since I like truffles, I really enjoyed the black truffle pasta.

02/08/2024: Best place in Rome. Had a wonderful meal and the staff made us feel right at home. They came round with the specials board and helped to translate it into English which was really appreciated. The food was fantastic and fresh. They had a great drink selection and prices were very responsible. It has a great location with a light show at night projected on the nearby building.

03/08/2024: You can judge by yourself if paying 51€ is worth this look. For me the food was ok but the way it was served is absolutely not okey. I felt like in a cheap canteen. And the coperto is 2€ which was not written anywhere 🤷🏻‍♀️

22/07/2024: Very good porchetta, little fat and just enough. The staff very kind and helpful. Possibility of filling the sandwich with many tasty ingredients. The sandwich is nice and crunchy, you can also take the porchetta home and they'll cut it for you on the spot. Grottaferrata wins over Ariccia for the moment

31/07/2024: Very nice place in a quiet and cool square. The cocktails 🍸 are fabulous and the bartenders are always experimenting with new flavors to offer customers new experiences. BRAVI. service sometimes too slow and not very attentive.. needs improvement. In context, probably the best place to have a drink in Piazza Bologna

19/08/2024: Order arrived 25 minutes late even though the place was very close to the house. Hard and dry dough, all very salty, rubber mozzarella (almost inedible). Pizzas arrived hot but with the toppings poured into the carton (the person making the deliveries probably feels like a Formula 1 driver). I will never order again.
