16/11/2025: A cappuccino and a croissant for €8, pain-free.

16/11/2025: I bought a small strawberry cake and, when I got home after 10 minutes, I noticed that most of the strawberries were moldy and the crust, which I tasted before noticing the mold, was soft. €25 wasted.

02/10/2025: It's no longer called 089 Cafè but Caffeina, I read it on the receipt...at least they served me that, but the friendliness and friendliness were absolutely zero! I came in for a coffee because I'd been told, a long time ago, that the coffee was excellent; evidently everything has changed because a few days ago (late September 2025) the coffee was absolutely mediocre. There were four people working (three at the counter and one at the register) and I was the only customer—I mention this to make it clear they were doing nothing—but they didn't even think to offer a glass of water with my coffee...Not to mention, as I mentioned, the total lack of friendliness...four pinched faces and not even the hint of a smile!! Gentlemen, this is not how you treat the public, especially in a bar... For €1.20, for a coffee that isn't excellent, a smile would be mandatory!! The only positive note, but it's far too little: the cup had been reheated.

And then there's a menu that, to say the least, is an understatement. The owners and service are impeccable, both in their friendliness and their expertise in displaying the products.

17/09/2025: I happened upon this neighborhood by chance and, in a hurry, just wanted a quick snack. I ended up ordering a sandwich with anchovies and zucchini flowers, and it was simply extraordinary: so fresh and so good, I hadn't eaten it in a long time. Thank you!

20/10/2025: Stopped here for mojitos. At least 5euro less than other places we looked at nearby. Didn’t have food but had complimentary snacks (chips, nuts and tiny bagel crisps) no charge for snacks or service / coperto. Mojitos were pretty good, staff were friendly. Definitely doesn’t deserve the low rating average.

21/11/2025: I ordered two pastries (Maritozzo and Chocolate Brownie) and two cappuccinos, with table service. He didn't ask me to pay immediately at the cashier, perhaps out of fear of my reaction if he told me the price was €21. I'm shocked; the table service cost more than €8.50.

26/05/2025: I had a very dry chicken schnitzel for €28.00 and a salad for €8.00, which was €36.00 for a kind of Caesar salad. Definitely way too much! The service was very friendly and attentive.

25/05/2025: Waited a long time for food. Waited, after asking twice, for bill. The waiter still didn't bring it. I had to ask another waiter and then go inside. Food was mediocre. Zero presentation. Won't bother again.

03/12/2025: Our go-to coffee place every morning during our stay. We tried a few other cafés as well-more touristy or "Starbucks-style"-but this one was by far our favorite because it felt truly authentic. They have a really nice and generous selection of pastries-large in a good way, without being overwhelming. Locals stop here for their coffee before going to work, and even teenagers hang out here sometimes, which really shows how much this place is part of daily life. The atmosphere is simple, lively, and genuine. A perfect spot for real Italian coffee and local vibes. We loved it!

27/11/2025: Bar located right in the square in front of Porta Pia, very spacious inside, many tables to sit on, excellent coffee and courteous and friendly staff, average prices

01/12/2025: AWFUL PLACE!!! Staff are terrible, to the point it’s actually funny. One guy who I’m assuming was the manager, actually told my son he took too long in the toilet. All the staff were grumpy, no wonder this place had so many poor reviews. Stay away. So many better places to stop in the beautiful city.

30/11/2025: Terrible customer service. They don't even let you sit down before they act like they're kicking you out. The blonde girl seems to have a grudge against foreigners. The price is a bit steep, to say the least. I was going to leave a tip, but she gave it back. According to her, that's not money. If I were the owner, I'd be more careful, as I've seen several similar situations.

03/11/2025: A total disaster! The lady who served the guests knew we wanted coffee. She invited us to a table, brought us a menu, and after about 20 minutes of waiting, the waiter arrived. Upon learning we only wanted coffee, he rudely told us it was impossible because we had to order more than just coffee!!! I'd just like to mention that this place has "CAFFE" in its name! I've been traveling to Italy for years, and this is the first time I've encountered such unfriendly service!

02/11/2025: The food was great, the waiters were helpful. The view and atmosphere were perfect. The only downside is that the restaurant guests are charged for the toilet.

08/06/2025: Excellent draft beer. Beautiful view of the square with palm trees. Fast service.
