10/10/2025: My boyfriend and I dined at this restaurant and were thrilled with the food. The seafood was high-quality, both in the appetizers and the first and second courses. Unfortunately, the service was a weak point: the waiters were listless, and it was clear they were rushing to vacate the tables. Not even a smile, and the service was sometimes unprofessional. Very nice atmosphere.

17/08/2025: *A must-see on the Ionian coast!* The property is surrounded by citrus and olive groves. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the food is locally sourced and authentic, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Laura, with her unbiased but spot-on advice on places to visit, made our holiday even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for those seeking a relaxing and authentic stay.

16/08/2025: I spent a few days at this agriturismo and it was a truly pleasant surprise. Surrounded by olive and citrus groves, it's the perfect place to relax and connect with Calabria's fragrant, authentic nature. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The rooms are simple but clean, and the location is excellent, allowing you to reach the sea and all the picturesque villages of Locride. I highly recommend it.

24/08/2025: A name that's a sure thing. I've been going there since I was little, and now that I'm back in Calabria for the holidays, it's a regular stop! Even my girls can't wait to go to Scocchieri ♥️ We love the wonderful brioche gelato.

09/08/2025: If I could, I would give it 1,000 stars. Excellent brioches and ice cream. And the staff is extraordinarily kind. While on vacation in Locri with the kids, we discovered this place by chance and ate the best brioches here, most of the time hot straight from the oven. A quick note for the staff: We've tried brioches elsewhere, but yours are the best. I congratulate you on your work and also on your kindness. Not to mention the fact that we don't speak Italian, and you welcomed us with the same kindness and smiles as your usual Italian customers. Thank you, and also thank you for the free ice cream when I misunderstood what my daughter wanted. We're from Belgium, and that doesn't exist there. We order the wrong things, and we, the customers, are responsible. Congratulations again for your dedication, and we can't wait to come back next year. All the best!

23/09/2025: I had a great experience first time, but when I returned three more times it got worse, and overall it's just mid. Last time I had a smoothie and a pasta dish, and it felt like a waste of money. The smoothies are super low effort and unattractive; it's just a regular small glass filled with the liquid. Maybe it would worth 2 euros top. I regret not taking a picture of their ugly smoothie in a glass, would have been great to upload here to shame them, haha. And the pasta meal was more oily and salty than anything else, plus the portion was small for the price, and also just generally for a meal for an adult person. When I got back to my accommodation I ate a whole grain cracker with a glass of soy milk, and it felt better than the meal I got at the restaurant. Based on my limited experience this place is 'okay' for a coffee and a slice of cake or a bagel sandwich, but probably go somewhere else for a good meal? I wouldn't recommend it for anything more especially for vegans, as they have a few vegan options, but usually they just leave stuff out (like with the pasta dish) and you find yourself starving for e.g. protein. Also, the first time I got a very nice cappuccino with soy milk but when I asked the second time they didn't have plant milk. You should also know that their kitchen is closed from like 14 to 19, so you can't order meals, only cake and coffee. And there is 1.5 eur service fee, even if you only order coffee. One waiter, a young girl, was kind and attentive, but I got the subjective impression that the rest wish you went somewhere else with your English or with your questions. And last time the same waiter returned to me to ask if I'm "ready to order", again in Italian like we never talked before, when I already ordered half an hour ago (when the kitchen wasn't open yet but I decided to wait) - I think this shows really well how much you matter here for the staff.

22/09/2025: Visit on September 30, 2021 I ordered one vegan sandwich (grilled vegetables, hummus, lettuce), two portions of vegan pluncake: one chocolate and one coconut. A vegan chocolate croissant, and one fruit juice. The 3 stars are: 1 ⭐ - for friendly/kind service; 2 ⭐ - according to what they say, for offering vegan options, unlike many other restaurants in RC; 3 ⭐ - the food tastes good; 4 ⭐ - the "vegan" options are indicated with a "label" 👍🏻; why not 5? ⭐ Rather than automatically offering white bread, they could offer a healthier bread option (whole wheat, whole grain, or similar) + The plum cake was too sweet. Desserts are sweet, but sugar is carcinogenic, so the less you add, the better. Generally, offering more healthy options is good practice and keeps customers coming back longer! 🙂 (it doesn't kill them so quickly)

20/08/2025: Very nice location, nestled in a small alleyway that leads back to the main square, all lit up with lovely lights. When booking, punctuality is expected (rightfully so), with a maximum 10-minute tolerance. I expected the same punctuality in service, but alas, the wait was a bit long. On the other hand, the sandwich was very good, the croquette a little less so (it was cold), and the staff was friendly. Overall, I recommend it.

11/07/2025: A very nice place in the city center, with good background music and an excellent sandwich. I chose Civico because I wanted to try something typical of the area, and I was thrilled with the balance of flavors I found. Highly recommended.

18/08/2025: Entering through a modest door, you arrive in a room filled with historical objects. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's decision to introduce guests to its spacious and tidy open kitchen and its welcoming staff. You then pass directly into another room and then onto a large terraced garden with tables spaced apart under a ventilated pergola. The staff is courteous, and the atmosphere remains intimate despite the limited space. Excellent freshly caught fish and simple, fresh side dishes. The 5 stars I give aren't just for the quality of the simple, tasty dishes, but for the combination of flavors and well-being you experience when dining at Annibale in the heart of the village, within a garden that never fails to hark back to a time when restaurants were also appreciated for the atmosphere they created, as here in the name of one of history's greatest generals. Stop here for an evening. Robert
