08/02/2025: When we arrived in Matera we had booked a few days before. They welcomed us discreetly and made us sit in the mezzanine room. Nice place, fast service, however after a few minutes we ordered A Broad bean and chicory with fried onion and a Fried Matera consisting of Lampascioni, ricotta, cod, artichokes and bran, both excellent as first courses, an Orecchiette with turnip greens, anchovies and fried breadcrumbs, bran, and Spaghetto alla guitar with red prawns, lemon, prized truffle (this perhaps a little too much lime) accompanied by a Malvasia Lucana, tiramisu and meringues with almonds and bitters and coffee... I count a little more than 50 euros each... a good experience

07/02/2025: Restaurant with a simple environment, such as furnishings and premises. Unfortunately a little cold, perhaps due to the height of the rooms. Excellent welcome with warm bread and locally produced extra virgin olive oil. Good and particular mixed starter, first course a little lacking in seasoning (mussels and clams), but of quality. Excellent wine. Friendly and helpful staff.

Los propietarios eran tan encantadores, amables y acogedores. Me encantaría comer allí de nuevo. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente

20/02/2025: If you are in Matera and are looking for a cuisine that reflects tradition, and offers a raw material that takes into account typical local products, you can't help but stop here. Easy to find, located in a side street of the main square of Matera, you enter through a staircase. The place is typical both for its architecture and for its vintage style furnishings with traditional ornaments. The owner and staff are all attentive to the customer. From the appetizer, to the first and second courses, everything is good. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

09/02/2025: Not knowing Matera, we took advice from our hotelier and I must say that it was really worth it. We arrived at the restaurant which was still closed but shortly thereafter the very kind owner arrived and reserved a table for us. Everyone and I mean everyone is extremely friendly, with a smile that fills your heart and that's no small thing. We immediately felt at ease. The food? Wow! We took a mix of truly delicious and abundant starters and a second course of our choice which we were unable to finish, we were really full and I apologize for this because it could have given the impression that we didn't like it, on the contrary we really left it reluctantly. Definitely an experience to be repeated and above all to be recommended. Heartfelt congratulations.

24/11/2024: Nice quiet place to have a beer and eat something. Good quality of food, very tasty dishes chosen on the menu and cheap prices. I recommend it if you are looking for a couple of beers and some hot food.

30/12/2024: Ristorante nel cuore dei Sassi che dall'esterno non rende quanto merita. All'interno l'allestimento del locale è infatti elegante e gradevole (toilettes comprese). Cucina gustosa e tipica ma con anche qualche ricercatezza. Personale disponibile.

03/02/2025: We walked to the Outback Restaurant which was next to our hotel. We wanted you to sit for a bit and enjoy a glass of wine. The restaurant was not busy, but the bar seats only had two available seats across the bar from each other. There were four two person high top tables available. We asked if we could sit there and were told they were waiting listed with a 35 minute wait. There were no reservation signs on these tables. Two other couples were waiting to be seated in the dining room and they did not want the high top tables. We questioned the seating hostess why we could not sit there. Her answer was we could stand at the bar or wait for 35 minutes for the high top tables. It is worth mentioning that this Outback does not take reservations. The seating hostess was very rude and made no effort to accommodate us in anyway. She did give us some good eye rolls though. Goodness sakes, all we wanted was to sit for an hour and have a couple glasses of wine.

30/11/2024: Siamo stati qui in 6. Terrazza bellissima con vista pazzesca. Staff gentilissimo, ci hanno dato anche delle coperte per il freddo e poi spostati vicino ai funghi riscaldanti. Io ho preso una cioccolata calda con dei biscottini buonissimi che ci hanno offerto, gli altri hanno preso del vino e aperitivo. Stranamente nonostante fosse il ponte dell 8 dicembre eravamo solo noi. Prezzi anche bassi per ciò che offre (es. cioccolata 5€). La consiglio assolutamente!

01/02/2025: In my opinion, the products are not as exceptional as they say. There are better bakeries around.

23/01/2025: I like the coffee, but the pistachio croissant was so weird, it doesn' t taste good or fresh. Also if you take away the coffee or the product the price are ok, but if you want to take the coffee inside you must to pay another price.

25/01/2025: Now a fixed stop, every time I'm in Matera I don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a piece of tart, drink a coffee or just say hello to the very kind and friendly owners! For two years I have been happy to be, unfortunately, an occasional customer. If I were from Matera I would come every day.
