08/08/2024: Best restaurant in Puglia. The superb negroni. The incredibly good vitello tonato. The orecchiette with sausage and tomato, the taste is just top notch. Kind and efficient service. Tiramisu good and not too sweet Served with originality! Come without hesitation!

06/08/2024: Excellent ambience and view. Slightly more upscale but with reasonable prices. We sat outside and enjoyed the cave views. Had the orecchiette ragu pasta but many people come later for drinks/cigar as well. Service was excellent, very professional wait staff who had proper training and it shows!

27/08/2024: Very courteous and friendly staff. Requests always satisfied with great ease. Excellent cuisine and some dishes are found in local cuisine. Eating on the terrace, with that view of the stones, is priceless. At the end of dinner, to finish, visit the cellar with photos and historical finds of the place.

26/08/2024: We hadn't booked and they rightly had to give us a table out of the way. Then due to cancellation of a reservation They gave us a table in the front row (very kind they could have cared and instead..), therefore a table with a view. Very kind, smiling and friendly waiters, I can only give a positive comment. Excellent food.

22/07/2024: Cucina italiana, lucana d livello eccelso presentata divinamente. C'è qualche corretta inflessione d modernità corroborata anche dall'ambiente minimalista ma assolutamente d buon gusto. Personale erudito, cortese e mai invadente. Conto assolutamente corretto. Era da diverso tempo che nn mangiavo così bene al ristorante, complimenti!

18/07/2024: We were looking for something to eat for lunch and found ourselves here by chance. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout so I don't recognise some of the other reviews here re service. We sat outside overlooking the the piazza, the views were wonderful and plenty of shade to shelter from the midday heat. There were very nice tables inside too (aircon included) if you prefer. We opted for a simple Pasta dish Materana Orecchietta which was absolutely delicious and highly recommended. We succumbed to a pudding (dessert) and that did not disappoint. In particular the Cannolo was the best I've ever tasted. Absolute must. My only disappointment was the lack of Birra senza alcol (alcohol free beer) although they did have Spritz analcolico (non-alcoholic spritz) which was refreshing.

04/08/2024: I witnessed an embarrassing scene in which the barista began with a lecture to a customer who had done nothing but ask for a long coffee. Apparently this was "dangerous", contains the worst caffeine, basically the lady had to abandon it halfway through... In addition to a coffee latte, requested by others, which was served cold without explanation. To be avoided.

04/08/2024: Zero professionalism. When we ask for a latte, the lady serves us a cold latte without asking if we liked it at that temperature, while when we ask for a tall or long coffee, she starts off with a harangue of her own, saying that it's the one that hurts us the most. I think so. good considering that everything was except long but rather a small glass filled to the edge (To calculate how long it must be should we use the centimeter? That's what the lady told me) of colored hot water which after the first sip I had to leave on the counter. I advise the lady to evaluate the passion for her work and reevaluate the kindness to be served together with a good coffee to tourists who visit this wonderful city. Not recommended.04-08-2024 approximately 2.00pm.

13/08/2024: Excellent craft beers in an atmospheric piazzetta. Perfect for pre-dinner aperitivi. We were initially confused by the beer menu chalk board- those “x’s” indicate the beers available (we thought they had run out of all bar one😂). We arrived to an empty bar at 7pm but by 8pm all the tables were taken (and most people seem to have booked).

09/07/2024: If you love craft beer you can't miss coming here. Craft beer of different types, all worth trying. Furthermore, their cuisine, thanks to chef Matteo, will not leave you disappointed. Their menu is a masterpiece and offers a selection of dishes that satisfy tastes and adapt to the seasonality of the products and the imagination of the chef, who combines traditional cuisine with the "magic" of the chef. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff is friendly and super helpful. I have had dinner at the brewery several times and have never been disappointed: it is truly an unmissable destination in the heart of the Sassi, in summer it becomes even more beautiful to spend an evening there"

12/04/2024: Peppino is the best bartender in the world He really knows his stuff Delicious cappuccinos, butter croissants that you can fill with a thousand creams, vegan croissants, various cocktails and spritzes including the typical Paduan or Treviso ones Truly the best there is

08/04/2024: Truly exquisite croissant, decent coffee. Two guys at the counter, I don't know their names but the one with the long hair should be kinder since he doesn't respond to customers' good mornings and doesn't look at their faces... While the colleague is super nice!

25/08/2024: Excellent pastry bar in the center of Matera found almost by chance (near our accommodation). The appearance and interior give the idea of ​​an important bar, and the friezes on the entrance door confirm this, but the substance is certainly there. Excellent coffee and breakfast; in this bar I learned about the existence of the "espressino" (never heard of it before), which is nothing more than a mini cappuccino. Decent choice of ice creams, all very good, but the highlight is certainly the "nun's tit", a sort of sponge cake dome filled with cream of various flavours. Not to be missed. Impeccable service and normal prices. I will return next time.
